Good lobster roll but hold the vinegar
We had the cold style lobster roll and while pricey, it was really good. Nice, chunky bits in the lobster roll. The meat had a nice sweet quality that's indicative of lobster from Cape Cod. The bread was properly buttered and grilled. The only downside was they splashed vinegar in the lobster. It must be an acquired taste but not something I loved. Also the fries were overcooked and just not tasty.
Be the first to ReplyGreat restaurant, great seafood menu, lovely staff and atmosphere
Went here the other night as we specifically wanted seafood and had heard very positive things about this restaurant. The food did not disappoint! We had 7 oysters in total which were a generous size and very delicious. There were several options of oysters and they came with hot sauce, cocktail sauce and vinegar. Very delicious !!!! For mains we both have mussels and Parmesan fries. The mussels were delicious with a lovely sauce. The fries were also cooked to perfection and certainly far from boring !!! Would definitely come back here again! The restaurant was packed for a Monday night and the staff were great! We have Marcus serving us who was lovely

I have really liked this restaurant in the past. Ate at the bar as a solo diner. Food and drink good, but the bartender charged me incorrectly- less than what I owed. I was happy to make an adjustment but they insisted on charging and recharging my card. This was their error- not mine. I would have expected some type of apology or even a dessert to say, we are sorry. No dice and never again!
Be the first to ReplyReputation might be better than the actual experience …
Overrated….overpriced…..very average portions/quality and service ……was very disappointed in our experience ….sorry
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Lunch spot !
One of our best experiences in Boston - the food was ridiculously good - the soup, the lobster roll and the fish and chips! The fish and chips were probably the best we ever had? Well executed and nicely presented - this seems like a simple dish but many places don’t know how to make it. The fish was lightly battered and fried to perfection. Tasty thick French fries that went well with the fish! The clam chowder was also the best we had in Boston. The lobster roll was great too. If we come back to Boston - we’d order the same items again.
Be the first to ReplyPricey but worth it
The food here was fantastic. On the pricier side but not bank breaking and worth the money. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the dish overall was wonderful. All of the cocktails me and my fiancé sampled tasted great and he enjoyed his main (saltie girl burger). Puddings to top it off were also very nice quality. The restaurant itself has a nice quiet ambience which we enjoyed.
Be the first to ReplyOnce in Saltie Girl, you'd better look out your credit card bill
Went there for a family dinner on late July. The $ 170,00 bill had been regularly charged to my credit card, and so was paid. Since the service was terrible, there was no tipping at all. But almost 2 months later, I was surprised with a $ 30 debt from Saltie Girl. No big math necessary to equal the abusive charge to the undeserved and unconsented tip (18%). Shame on you, guys.
Be the first to ReplyGood, but not amazing. Expected more.
It was good, just not amazing. We had 8 oysters for our starter. I recommend the East Coast oysters. For my entree I had the Moules Frites….they were kind of bland and nothing special compared with the Mules I’ve eaten at other restaurants. My husband ordered the flounder and he enjoyed it a lot. Our entrees didn’t come out at the same time and my Moule was getting cold while we waited 10 minutes for his flounder to come. Better timing from the kitchen would be nice considering our bill was over $140 for two and I expect better from a restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious! It is worth it!
Delicious restaurant! I ordered the lobster roll, very tasty! I loved! Good and fast service, but I suggest booking, it gets very busy on the weekend!

Be the first to ReplyMore than seafood and cocktails.
So good we've hit it twice in a month. We had dinner here a year ago and had to come back for brunch. We had a quick bite as a couple and brought back family later. Solid morning cocktails. Bountiful seafood portions, even on a Benedict. Nice atmosphere and friendly fast service. I loved my snow crab roll - it was full of lump crab meat. The salmon or lobster Benedicts are our favorite. Get a rez. We had a first of the the day table and got there 15 minutes before they opened. In that time, over a dozen people showed up - it's more than just a little popular.
Be the first to ReplyGave it a second try and...
... didn't have a better experience. I went there for Brunch on a Sunday on my wife's birthday, The atmosphere and setting is very nice though the waiters are a bit rough, and for the 'hype of the place' not very well trained. The menu selection is huge but somehow strange. The lobster roll was good yet the presentation was sub-par. The tins are nice but also a hyped-up way to maximize their margins. You can buy some of them at Amazon for a few dollars a can and they mark them up probably with a factor of 5x. This was certainly the last time I tried out Saltie Girl.
Be the first to ReplyHidden charges
We were asked if we wanted regular or sparkling water at the start of or meal and then charged 10.00 for saying sparkling. The manger refused to remove the charge. There was also a “restaurant fee” when on the final bill. I asked about it they could not really explain it and said it was optional and took it off. The food was good.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing!
We visited Saltie Girl in August 2019 based on reviews. It did not disappoint. In fact it was absolutely fabulous, and we ended up dining there twice during a four-day trip. I was excited to return in July 2022. It was incredibly disappointing. The restaurant in 2019 was this tiny little restaurant painted in a greenish blue. In July 2022 I could look in the window and see that space - closed. Beside it was this big tacky, white and brown and Pepto-Bismol pink restaurant with mediocre food at best. Again, super disappointing.
Be the first to ReplyBigger premises, same great food.
The last time I ate at Saltie Girl was pre COVID. Wow, what an upgrade - so much more space. The good news is that the food is as good as ever. Superb.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing seafood restaurant
I dined at Saltie Girl in December and I have to say, it was one of the best dining experiences I've had in Boston. The clam chowder was simply amazing - it was creamy and full of flavor, and the fried clams on top added a nice crunchy texture. The oysters were also incredibly fresh and tasted great. The charred octopus was another highlight - it was tender and had a delicious flavor. To top it all off, the server, Brian was very friendly and attentive, making the overall dining experience even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this seafood restaurant to anyone looking for a tasty and memorable meal.
Be the first to ReplyUnique Boston Restaurant
The negative experiences of other patrons, were definitely not my husband and my experience. I just typed in "Unique Boston Restaurants" and this came up as one of the options. The cute mermaid logo, pink decor, and inventive menu had me sold. I thought this would be your typical tourist trap where you pay for the hype rather than the food, but was completely wrong. We felt the prices were completely reasonable given the portion sizes of the food. Husband started with the grilled octopus followed by salmon collars (something he hasn't had before). He could not stop raving about everything - the octopus was so soft it could be cut with a butter knife! I started with the cheese plate (wasn't expecting so much!) and finished with the mussels and fries. HUGE portions as you can see. The cocktail and sake were also a hit. Our server was also incredibly friendly and FAST. Checked on us often. Told us about their other locations - Los Angeles and London currently.
Be the first to ReplyUnderwhelming
Overall the experience was underwhelming. It was very noisy and hard to have a conversation. The food was lackluster with small portions. The environment wasn’t special and it was overpriced
Be the first to ReplyNice place though the main ingredients of a great restaurant are missing
Mediocre and super slow service. Food quality was subpar to the point that I had to sent my main course back. The Tins are hyped up and super expensive. Total disappointment!
Be the first to ReplyTerrible experience.
Recommended by a friend. Extremely disappointed. Bloody Mary’s were awful. Lobster rolls were as well. Clam chowder tasteless. Price was high. Service Ok. So miserable a culinary experience it was almost shocking. Will never be back.
