Overpriced and very disappointing food
My wife and I went here for what we hoped would be a nice romantic meal. Unfortunately, we were sorely disappointed. I had a New York strip steak which was a very poor piece of meat. It was tough and had lots of gristle which was of course inedible. I had green beans as a side which was ok. The best thing I had was a Caeser's salad which was very good, My wife had a baked potato which wasn't even warm and grilled asparagus which was truly awful. It was stringy and had no flavor. All in all a terrible meal with a hefty price tag attached. The restaurant itself is nice and has nice views of the strip. The service was acceptable. Obviously we won't be going back given the substandard food and sky high prices.
Be the first to ReplyRuth’s Chris Restaurant Las Vegas is a definite “NO”
My husband and I have dined at Ruth’s Chris in Beverly Hills, California and in Asheville, North Carolina, and had good experiences at both locations. This time we decided to dine at the Las Vegas location since we are now local residents. The Open Table app said that they only had a 4:30 pm time available, even though we preferred a later time. We accepted the 4:30 pm reservation because it appeared that they were really busy since there was no other time available. Once we arrived at close to 4:45 pm, because the restaurant is difficult to find at Harrah’s Hotel, the large restaurant was 95% empty, we were very surprised. We were escorted us to a small table in the back. We said we preferred a larger table by the window since it’s a huge restaurant and it was practically empty, the waitress said ok. She then came back 10 minutes later to tell us that our table was “reserved” for someone else. We suggested they seat the guests at the tables on either side of us, same location same window. She insisted on moving us away from window. We decided not to stay. My husband asked for the manager and let them know that they weren’t customer friendly. The manager said she’s sorry but the window tables have a $25 surcharge. That was the first time anyone mentioned an additional charge. We had to laugh since the Formula One race happened several months ago and there was no longer any reason for the surcharge, especially since there’s really no view to speak of from the restaurant. During the time we spent there not a single additional guest entered the restaurant. We decided to take our business elsewhere, to a restaurant we frequent regularly that has delicious food and drinks, as well as great management by Shawn Norris, general manager at VIC & ANTHONY’S. He knows the art of keeping customers happy, which is of course the secret of their success. Needless to say, it’s no wonder Ruth’s Chris restaurant was nearly empty. Bad management decisions appears to have resulted in good paying customers preferring to just walk away. The management & staff had ample opportunity to retain a potential returning customer but they chose to alienate us instead.

Without Question the steak was delicious! The complimentary dessert was lovely for the two men sharing their Birthdays and delicious BUT and HOWEVER the service was horrible. First off we had requested a window seat and although the restaurant was empty when we arrived and when we left, they said there was no one to serve in those sections . Later on we were told if we want a table there, there is an additional $25 US per PERSON fee to sit there??? Earnest was our server and he was attentive the first few minutes but once we placed our orders he never came back till the food was being delivered and somehow developed a terrible attitude during that time also. Our bill for six adults and two of those couples shared a steak to boot came to $1300 US Needless to say their birthdays were ruined by this experience. There are a thousand restaurants in Vegas that serve steak. Avoid this place it has obviously passed its "prime"

What is going on with Harrahs???? They offer you complimentary based on your play then charge you overpriced food anyways. I wasn't feeling good so I had the dinner delivered to my room, after losing $2500 this trip they give me $150 food comp and still bill it to my room. Come on guys. I'm going to start going to MGM , I have no choice here. It's total nonsense, then I get a huge runaround at checkout like it's my fault....So long Caesars Ent........find some other Suckers

I made reservations three days prior to my services. I arrived on time for dinner, however the lobby was full and I had to wait in addition 20 minutes. However the food was delicious, I had the mixed grill, with crab cake, chicken breast and mini filet migion. Tender and my spouse had New York strip steak very tenderize.

I’ll start by saying that, no – I don’t consider Ruth Chris an upscale or fine dining establishment in any way, shape, or form. Ruth Chris was usually just a place I’d drop by to get a stuffed chicken + ahi tuna to-go for dinner when I lived in Cali, and it’s pretty run-of-the-mill, but I always found it reliable. I recently decided to try out this location (since I now live in Vegas), and boy, oh boy, what a disappointment. I got food poisoning. The shrimp and Ahi Tuna did me in. Pretty disappointing. Again, I don’t consider Ruth Chris upscale, but at the very least, they should not be serving bad or expired seafood at the prices they command. The rest of the food at this location is also pretty bland and leaves much to be desired. There is barely any flavor in any of their dishes here. I’d beware before eating here. I’ll never eat at a Ruth Chris restaurant ever again.

We will never ever go to this restaurant again on a holiday. When we arrived for a 5:30 reservation, we were shocked at how many people were lined up all the way down the halls and every available place where you could stand around the hostess stand. They were way behind seating people and there seemed to be no urgency between the hostess, another seater and the manager. They absolutely were not moving like the place was on fire when there were countless people waiting to be seated. There were plenty of tables and maybe not enough waitstaff so they need to be better prepared. Also when someone pays their ridiculous money grabbing fee of $50 for a booth or premium seating, they should be moved to the top of the priority list for seating. Our service was good and it appeared that all of the waitstaff was hustling but no one at the front was. We talked to a couple of ladies on our way out and they were seated 1 hour and 15 minutes past their reservation. If you have show reservations I think you should pick another place to eat before going here. It was a nightmare1

500$ for three people….the lobster bisque was un-eatable … wine (a bottle) arrived after the appetizers…our window table reservation was gone …. And in any case would have been 25$ each….you cannot ask this money just because it’s you…sorry
Be the first to ReplyUnbelievable they raised prices even more!
Just when you thought it could not get any more expensive, it did!!! Last month the rib eye steak was $75. Tonight it was $90. Glass of wine $25. Now, do not get me wrong, the steak was excellent, but come on. So, this is our last visit to Ruth’s Chris. We have been frequent customers, but we just cannot justify spending this kind of money. We are not on an expense account and that seems like the clientele they are trying to gouge.
Be the first to ReplyRuth Chris Gouges Customers
Ruth’s Chris has been one of our favorite restaurants in Las Vegas for years. However on my visit two weeks ago, I was flabbergasted that they were charging $25 for a glass of wine and now their ribeye steak is $76. No meal is worth that, even though the steak was great, the creamed Spanish was runny and not hot - just kind of warm. They are just gouging their customers. Sorry folks, you will not see me again.

Ruth Chris does it right. I suggest the chilled seafood tower. Lobster, shrimp, Crab Legs, lump Crab. All cracked and ready to eat . Excellent Then have the 3 course meal has everything, go with lobster bisque instead of salad. You can get salad anywhere. View is spectacular, service is excellent. Pricey but great place to enjoy the experience. We’ll be back next time in Vegas

We went to Ruth's Chris Steak House the week prior to Christmas 2022 for a special couple getaway in Vegas. The atmosphere is romantic and high end. The service was top notch. We ordered an appetizer of calamari which was exceptionally good. We also ordered Caesar salads which were fresh and very tasty. For a main course, my wife ordered the lobster and garlic mashed potatoes and I ordered the Ribeye with loaded baked potato. My wife said that her lobster/mashed potatoes were excellent - I wished I was as lucky. The potato was average and the Ribeye was dry and tough. The texture was more like a sirloin or a low grade New York Strip. Every restaurant has a bad day so next time we go to Vegas, we'll give them another chance - I just won't order the Ribeye again.

This Ruth's Chris Steak House is a great place to go for delicious and well prepared steak and much more. I have been impressed with everything that they have available here. I have had a really good experience every time I have been here and have been impressed with their level of customer service.

We did not have reservations so we sat at the bar. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. We ordered drinks and appetizers. We had shrimp cocktail and lobster macaroni and cheese with bread. The shrimp was the largest I have ever seen/eaten. Everything was so delicious!! I began to eat slower just to savor every bite! I ordered their house Merlot, but it was enjoyable as well! The servers behind the bar were kind, affable, professional and efficient. I will return to this fine establishment.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic steak dinner and ambience
A very high-end steak restaurant right on the strip! While you pay for the experience, our steak (and entire meal) was one of the best we have ever had. Wait staff was prompt and attention to detail was obvious. Our table looked right over the Vegas strip which was a nice bonus. One of our party was celebrating a birthday and was rewarded with a complementary dessert--very nice!

We dined here on our honeymoon before a show. It was pretty busy, but with a few empty tables by the window we asked if we could be seated there and were shocked to be told they charge for it, $10 each!! I remarked that given the whole place needs a makeover they should be paying us and certainly not charging for us to look at other Vegas sights on our honeymoon! They comped this, I think to keep the peace! Having tried one on our honeymoon in June in San Diego which had been totally amazing from start to finish this was not as good. The food was excellent however, and their bread pudding dessert was so good we shared two. Overall a good meal, but as some other reviews have shown, the board need to intervene and tidy this location up and drop the ridiculous sitting by the window charge.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely delicious steaks and amazing service!
We had dinner at Ruth Chris in Las Vegas on 10/4/22. We were seated promptly and within one minute the waitress came over to welcome us and see if we wanted a drink. She returned with some warm bread and our cocktails. We had the jumbo shrimp cocktail for an appetizer which was chilled and delicious. I then had a filet mignon and he had a NY Strip steak. Both were cooked perfectly and were outstanding! I loved every single bite as it was so incredibly delicious. We also loved the fire corn and had mashed potatoes. There are so many steakhouses to pick from in Vegas and we selected Ruth Chris to celebrate our wedding anniversary as it is located across from the Mirage where we had tickets to a 7PM Beatles LOVE show and needed a quick walk following dinner to get there in time. It is literally a 5 minute walk to the Mirage lobby so nice and easy. Highly recommend!!!!

My wife and I ate at Ruth’s Chris at Harrahs in Las Vegas for my wife’s birthday. The food was great and our server was even better, we really enjoyed the experience. Our server knew it was my wife’s birthday and he went over the top to make it a wonderful experience for her.
Be the first to ReplySimply the best steak I’ve ever had across the world
I read that many people say it’s empty, and sad. Not quite sure, perhaps STK is more their taste. I’m there for the food. However, I enjoyed the setting, large ceilings so even if I gets busy it would t be loud. But Jonathan, amazing server and started with a cracking espresso martini, and a glass of the meimoi. I opted for the 3 course (Caesar salad / 11pz fillet (medium) / cheesecake). This is where it blew me away even more. The food was incredible. Simply incredible. I mean you can’t really get a salad wrong, but it was the best ever. Then the steak. I do seem to go overboard many times and I’ve probably been to over 100 restaurants and all the world for steaks, and not the cheap kind. This was the best I’ve ever had. It cut like knife through butter, sizzling on the 500 degree plate, perfectly cooked and every mouthful was heaven. I will be back and hopefully with more people to share how amazing this whole experience was. Not everyone can be pleased, and maybe the food was not for their liking, but it’s a steak house / restaurant. Not a nightclub. Stk is a louder vibe but it’s even more expensive and not as good (in my opinion) Well done Ruth’s Chris - and to Jonathan!
Be the first to ReplySad, empty place
To repeat: As previously noted, these places are NOT all the same. This location falls short of the excellent but now closed San Francisco location, the Sacramento area locations, and the DC spot, but seems to be mis-managed along the same lines as the Walnut Creek spot was a few years ago. Our server, Johnny T., was great. He was of immense assistance with the menu and spent a few minutes trading fun stories with us. Plus, he's a Raiders' fan. The New York was a nice steak, but it was $70.95. That is a ridiculous price for a basic cut of meat. It was here that we also encountered that bizarre, new Vegas custom of two-tiny-tastes per table of wine. Rather than force wait staff to announce that, why not put that on the menu or wine list? "Our establishment wants to encourage you to experiment with new wines. We can offer two tastes per table complimentary, but must charge $2.00 per taste for each subsequent taste." Or something like that. I do suspect some people may have abused the taste thang, but a taste or two have guided us on many occasions in many places. But, again, I digress. Steakhouse salad at $17.95 pricey for lettuce, etc. I would order the side of cremini mushrooms again and again. The highlight of our meal. Interesting thing of which we were reminded: Restaurants, even in Vegas, remain hobbled by Covid. The pandemic's aftermath has created labor and management shortages and, in the case of this Ruth's, stripped the bar and cellar. No fernet branca. No Bordeaux. Much sadness. The place was dead. Several young couples ate near us but Ruth's was quiet -- too quiet. Where there should have been clinking and laughter, there was only a funeral-like quietude. I think Vegas old-timer restaurants like Ruth's need to offer happy hours and cater to more than the old-timer business client living on the business AMEX. Meh. -- Workingman's gourmand.

Hunter was our server and did a phenomenal job. The ambiance was perfect for our date night. You can smell the food from the moment you walked in to when you sat at the table. Our cocktails were made great and the food was AWESOME. We did the Bone-In NY Strip and the Bone-In Fillet. If you like medium rare, we’d suggest getting your steak rare because the plates cook your food as its being brought out. LOVE LOVE, we’ll be back. :)
Be the first to ReplyNo wonder ir was empty
I am writing today to express my extreme disappointment with my experience at the Harrah's Las Vegas location. I dined at this location on the last night of my Vegas holiday on July 7th this year. We were greeted by a nearly empty restaurant at the time of our reservation of 7:30. We were escorted to a table as far away from the front as possible; a small table for 2 way in the back in a corner. I asked the hostess for a different table as this one was barely part of the restaurant. She grunted and turned around to lead us somewhere else, which ended up being a separate dining room. On the way there I noticed MANY empty tables near the window. I asked if we could sit there. She yelled at me "10 $ each". We didn’t understand what she meant or why she was yelling so we asked her to repeat. And again she yelled "10$ each. You want to sit there it's 10$ each". we were completely shocked that she would speak to us in such a disrespectful way. Having been to MANY fine dining restaurants in Vegas and elsewhere, we know that this kind of behaviour is not acceptable. For that matter, it would not have been acceptable at McDonalds. My dining companion wanted to leave but I felt that looking for another steakhouse at the last minute would not be easy as there were lineups outside all the good places. Also, I have always enjoyed Ruth's Chris on the many other occasions I have dined there (other locations). So we decided to stay but asked to speak to a manager to express our concerns/disgust with the way we were being treated. He promptly came over to our table, listened to what we had to say and then very dismissingly said "I’m sorry to hear that". what a disappointment. But it was our last night in Vegas and we were determined to make it work so we decided to stay. A decision that we came to regret once the food came. I ordered the rib steal for over $70 - it tasted like something from Outback - mediocre at best. The brussel sprouts and potatoes were bland and tasteless. My sister ordered the lamb which was the only good part of the meal. Our bill came to over 200$ and was not worth a fraction of that. On the way out, we stopped by the check-in desk and asked the hostess for her card and the card of the manager who blew us off so that I could follow up with head-office to express my displeasure. She went to get a card, and didn't come back, but instead sent the same manager who wanted to know "what we wanted this time". He gave us his card – Brian Murzyn- director of food and beverage. With the competition of good restaurants in Vegas, they should be doing whatever they can to make sure the customer feels welcome and satisfied. The experience has turned me off Ruth's Chris entirely
Be the first to ReplyWonderful meal
Having just visited San Diego and eaten at Ruth's Chris there, we figured we give the Las Vegas location a go. The food was excellent and the service was similarly outstanding. (Ki N and his assistant were extremely attentive and knowledgeable). I had the filet and my spouse went with the blackened scallops. The martinis were mixed well, but a bit pricey. My only complaint would be that we paid a $20 premium for a window seat, but we were toward the back of the restaurant along the window-- so furthest away from the Strip. There was nothing to look at really... just the bar below. Despite the upcharge, I'll return for the service and the food.

Sit at the bar and let Greg and his crew take care of you. You won’t go wrong. Food and drinks top notch too. An enjoyable experience.

We ate at Ruth's Chris with a group of friends that we had just met and finished a 7 day tour with. We had a reservation and were seated fairly quickly with a party of 6. My only criticism was that we were there for over 2 hours. They seem to really take there time with the meal so if you are in a hurry, be aware. We were not in a hurry. I had the filet and it was ok, not great. We spent $200 for the meal for my wife and I. Overall, though, I was fairly happy with the experience.
