Ritz Paris Reviews from The Last Year
Disappointing Experiences at The Ritz Paris
The Ritz Paris is an institution. Its beauty, location, and history speak volumes, making it a landmark that few would consider researching through reviews. Having had the privilege of traveling to Paris from a young age, I hold many cherished memories there, mostly with my family. Over the years, I have continued to return to Paris almost annually, often solo and sometimes with friends. As a lover of fine dining and luxury, I frequently indulged at establishments such as Plaza Athénée and the Four Seasons. Last year, after a delightful shopping excursion, a Parisian friend and I decided to enjoy tea at the Ritz. Upon kindly requesting to sit outside, the hostess inquired if we were guests at the hotel. As I was staying with my friend, I replied in the negative. She then politely informed us that it was not possible to sit outside. While I am only assuming this restriction was due to our non-guest status, the experience left me puzzled but not deterred. This year, during another visit to Paris, I stayed with the same friend. After shopping at Zengs next door around lunchtime, I decided to visit the Ritz once more. I approached the same restaurant on the left side, whose name escapes me. When I asked the hostess if I could have an omelet, her immediate response was to inquire if I was staying at the Ritz. Upon learning that I was not, she informed me, with a touch of condescension masked by a smile, that they did not serve omelets, and I left feeling bewildered. I wish to emphasize that on both occasions, I presented myself with utmost decorum, dressed appropriately, and approached with the highest level of politeness. While I understand that the Ritz has garnered immense attention on social media, especially during fashion weeks, I find it perplexing that such an esteemed establishment would exhibit such dismissive behavior. The Ritz has long been synonymous with the pinnacle of hospitality. It is a bit of a shame that it has become an Instagram sensation, seemingly focusing on flashy socialites and ephemeral trends rather than maintaining its core values of hospitality. This shift feels more like a passing fad than the enduring legacy of one of the greatest references in worldwide hospitality, if not the greatest. These two incidents have left me questioning whether its illustrious reputation is being overshadowed by a new, less inclusive culture. Regrettably, due to these experiences, the Ritz Paris will no longer be an option for me. Fortunately, Paris, the City of Light, offers numerous other splendid alternatives. Respectfully, A Devoted Traveler and Luxury Enthusiast from Montreal
The Ritz -- the hotel where hospitality is an art
Given that this is one of the swankiest hotels in Paris, you might expect the staff to be on the snobbish side. If so, you could not be more incorrect! At a hotel with the reputation of the Ritz, you would expect an elegant room, a fabulous menu, and superb service. And, indeed, you will get all these things at the Ritz. What you may not expect is a staff that -- regardless of whether you are mega-millionaires or a couple that has saved for years to make a stay at the Ritz possible -- will treat you as if you are the most important people on the planet. If they know your estimated time of arrival, the doorman will greet you by name with a warm welcome. The concierge (who knows Paris intimately) will spend as much time as you need to help make your stay in Paris memorable. The waiters -- whether in the breakfast room, the Bar Hemingway, or the dining room -- will treat you with affable efficiency. The staff at the pool (the largest hotel pool in Paris) will even teach you how to swim if that is what you want. My wife and I love the Ritz! In a city that treasures its art, the Ritz has turned hospitality into an art! Expensive, yes, but a stay there is something you will never regret.
Incredibly Unfriendly
Since at least the death of Princess Diana, my wife and I have wanted to visit and possibly stay at the Ritz. On a recent Sunday morning we arrived in Paris from the USA. When we got to our hotel (not the Ritz) our room was not ready so we decided to take a cab to the Ritz and look around. We arrived at the Ritz at approximately 9a and almost immediately after we arrived we were "greeted" by a security guard. We told that guard that we really wanted to walk around (the main floor obviously) but the guard said that was impossible in a tone that was not just unfriendly but made us feel like untermenschen. We asked the guard if he would walk around with us but he refused. So we took another cab and left. I can assure any reader of this post that my wife and I will never stay at the Ritz (although we had and have the financial ability to do so). Richard Kaufman, USA
They definitely have good service.
Basically there's 2 staff to every guest. I appreciate that they could help make reservations to French restaurants and events during my stay. The pool and spa were amazing! The food was okay... And the high tea was closed.
Bad Experience after Spending Two Nights in One of Sixteen Prestigious Suits
I stayed at Charlie Chapline Suite (1 of 16 prestigious suite) for 2 nights, which is worth about 20k for 2 nights, from May 18 to May 20. I love to travel internationally, and enjoy staying at the luxury hotel for the average 10k per night. So, I know what the standard for this price at the luxury hotels is. However I regret my choice to stay at the ritz paris, because of their poor service. When I decide to pay, I also expect to get treated as much as I paid. First, Concierge didn't explain to me how to use the room equipment including the window opening and multiple buttoned old antique machine, so i have to figure it out by myself. Second, the room service people took my full water bottles i asked and left empty water bottles. I asked them to bring me the water, and they told me it will be extra charge. I asked the concierge team, but they told me it's my fault to press the do not disturb button, which I am not aware of which button they are talking about. They also have the physical do not disturb sign. What is point of having the physicial sign if you have the buttons which you didn't explain? Anyway, is Giving me the water that hard when I am staying at Charlie Chapline Suite? Third, Staff members treat me and my fiance like I and my fiance are tourist, not the hotel guests. When we enter the hotel, they blocked us and asked us how they can help us. We just wanted to walk around the hotel, but we have to explain to them we are staying at the hotel. This was annoying. For your information, I experienced the afternoon tea, breakfast, and the hemmingway bar because it is famous at here. But, I don't understand why so many people are trying to enjoy these because I don't see any uniqueness. Also, I went to shangri la paris and le grand control right before ritz paris. I spent about 10k per night for two other hotels, and their service met my expectation. But, not ritz paris. I am very disappointed and I will never come back. This hotel is historical building, but their service is not to the level where it should be at this price range at this time. I raised this concerns. The manager (I have never seen during my stay) popped up from nowhere, and he kept asking me how he can make up to me. It sounds like I am trying to get something from the hotel when I am about to leave the hotel. He kept asking me to take his card and make the reservation through him next time, for him to make up. But, I don't want to waste my time, and their attitude and service already ruined my vacation. Again, I would not recommend this hotel to anybody with high expectation or used to the similar priced luxury hotel standard.
Beautiful place to enjoy Afternoon Tea in Paris.
I made reservations for this place and everything was extremely delicious to eat. The aesthetic of this place is amazing and picturesque worthy.
In a word, elegance.
In two, absolute delight. A warm and inviting dining room, refined and peaceful. Brunch for two. Champagne was provided, and my martini was perfect. Service was beyond expectations, and there was no rush whatsoever; we were able to enjoy a spectacular brunch together without interruption, all the while having a phenomenal server check on us to ensure we were satisfied. Satisfied is too small a word. This was bliss. Highly recommend taking the time to enjoy brunch at the Ritz; you will NOT regret it at all!
Couldn’t stay away
Came last year as a bucket list trip with my 20 year old daughter but I just had to come back - another five star perfect stay. Thank you to Sarah for all of the pre arrival help especially in setting up an Anniversary surprise for my husband and to Arthur for taking care of us in Paris and beyond. Breakfast team perfect such a beautiful room and great to see Nicolas again. Get the hotdogs and cheeseburgers at Bar Hemingway! Nothing compares to the Ritz in Paris. Make sure to check in with concierge team before visiting museums ect for tour guides or skip the line tickets. Beautiful apartments , must visit the pool too! Thank you Ritz we can’t ever stay anywhere else. À bientôt !
Inconsistent and complacent.
A lot of things are absolutely immaculate. Others things are less so, and the service is sometimes disorganised and complacent. For what they charge, it is not the right standard. Incorrect bookings made, TV not working, air conditioner broken, things requested for the room taking too long etc. Minor irritations perhaps but not what you book the place for.
English High tea
I booked an English afternoon tea , we arrived about 15 min early. We were bought to a desk and they told us to wait, and to go to an other desk when it was time .We were welcomed very nice. The room looked lovely. We received a glass of water ( not cold!) We received the menu and ordered a 68, menu. First came the tea ,I asked for some cold milk to go with it. 3 waiters later I got it. We thought there was to much staff walking around , not noing what the other is doing After receiving our tea , 15 min later we received the etagère with food.Looked and tasted great.. Glad I have visited the ritz, but would not recommend the high tea menu.
Brought the Mom here for Afternoon Tea, while we were in
Brought the Mom here for Afternoon Tea, while we were in Europe for our Mom-daughter vacay. Quite the experience and so much fun! Servers were beyond nice and helpful. Sandwiches, pastries and teas were so delicious omg! If you're ever visiting Paris, definitely go for Afternoon Tea at the Ritz; very much worth it! Bon anniversaire!

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
