Restaurante Rosetta Ciudad de México Reviews from The Last Year
Overhyped and overpriced
Came here for lunch which we had booked weeks in advance. Overall, very disappointed. Had the kampachi seafood and white mole with fermented carrots to start. Both were meh. Daughter had pasta with bolognese sauce which she liked but was nothing special. Husband had suckling pig which was very good and was served with a smoked sweet potato purée. I had the cod baked in salt. Was very tasty but one dimensional as it was served on a pile of bitter greens and nothing else. For the price and the reputation, I was very underwhelmed. And the servers removed plates before we were even done eating our appetizers. I do not recommend.
I recommend, but not at the level of a theworlds50best restaurant
After seeing this restaurant on several TV shows, given the title of best female chef in the world and being placed in theworlds50best, we were very eager to try this restaurant. Not my style of decor, but very beautiful place. The decor is quite romantic and their bar on the 3rd floor is very dynamic. As for food, we fell in love with their classic Savoy Cabbage Tacos and their fish. Very well prepared. We also tried two pasta dishes (Carrot Risotto and Stuffed Pasta with Tomato Sauce), very good, but nothing exceptional. Same thing for the desserts, very good, nothing more. As for the service, it is good, but lacks a little professionalism. In addition, we are served the dishes very quickly, which is a shame, because if it was not for the bottles of wine that we ordered, we would have eaten everything in less than an hour. As for alcohol, I find their cocktails very expensive and few bottles of wine affordable. Basically, yes we eat well, yes the decor can be charming for the majority of people, but this restaurant is absolutely not at the level of a theworlds50best restaurant and very far from it. We see with this restaurant the limits and relevance of such a ranking. But if we forget this aspect, for the price (because it is 1/3 of a great restaurant), I recommend it. We also tried the Bakery for lunch, very good, it is really worth the detour.
Friday afternoon lunch
We were pleased with the service and the food. We ordered an entry, minestrone soup, Ribs with polenta, and desert, coffee and the house beer. They offer unlimited free bread with olive oil which was very good and water. We share the main dish. We paíd around 2,500 pesos for two persons wich we feel is quite reasonable for the food and service we received. They also have a bar to wait for your table. We recomend the place. Then, we went to Rosetta bakery which is excelllent.
Fell short of a star
Wondering how they got a star. Please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I came here for my birthday dinner , they seemed overbooked lots of tables crammed. Staff frantically rushing all over the place , my drinks and food were subpar. Ate next door the night before excellent, and would recommend going there or anywhere but here. Save your money!
Regrettable!
Despite the mixed reviews, we decided to visit Rosetta due to its Michelin star—a grave mistake, as we fail to understand how it earned such recognition. The venue is overcrowded with tables, and unfortunately, the service is focused solely on maximizing table turnover. There was constant pressure to order quickly, our dishes arrived just five minutes later, and we were continuously rushed to leave. The wine list is unacceptable for a Michelin-starred restaurant, lacking a single high-end or well-known wine. Instead, it features entirely unknown low-end wineries. To top it off, the food was simply bad, with little effort in preparation and more in presentation. We returned some dishes and left others practically untouched due to how terrible they were, yet the waitstaff didn’t even bother to ask what went wrong. The highlight of the night: a mango with a scoop of coconut ice cream (truly basic but the best of the night). Mexico City has hundreds of better places. Rosetta is worth forgetting. We regularly visit Michelin-starred restaurants and have never had such a bad experience.
Disappointing given the rave reviews
Atmosphere lacking - what are all these reviews talking about a great atmosphere? Restaurant is set in an old mansion, you’re placed in one of a number of small rooms, we were in one with maybe 5 tables, very quiet and boring. Service was fine, reserved, and definitely not overly helpful . Drinks selection- wine list by the glass limited, and at over $20USD I expect the wine to be better. Food wise, we had the beet salad, tasted fine but is it exceptional or different in some way? Nope. Fish ceviche was nice. Bread with a special butter I would skip. For entrees, we had the vegetable risotto, flat iron steak, short ribs and the salt fish. All were fine, but again, nothing outstanding or exceptional, best was probably the fish. I would not come back or recommend this to my friends given the number of options in CDMX.
Rosetta is a gem in Mexico City
Great spot is a lively and fun neighborhood. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere is quite nice and the food was fantastic. This is one of the three restaurants in Mexico City in the world's top 50 list and it is by far much less expensive than the other two. I would highly recommend the bread that comes with butter mixed with ants. It was out of this world. The short rib was also amazing. I was told they change the menu daily, although I assume only a few things change each day. If you like good food, try this while in Mexico City. After dinner you can walk around the area and find a few places with live music if you wish.
Six stars
Simply delicious. Every plate was exquisite, the flavors perfectly blended for an amazing results. Wine list is original but misses a few heavier weights. Service is ok and attentive.
Less can be More!
Food was flawlessly cooked and amazingly delicate. Just a few ingredients made up my favorite dishes which included the white corn tamal, pappardelle with chicken liver, and the camote fagattini with salsa macha. It’s no wonder this restaurant is on most ‘must’ lists for Mexico City. FYI Be sure to book as far out as possible. Timing will dictate if you get prioritized for indoor vs outdoor seating.
Great venue but very disappointing food (never again).
Great venue in a beautiful villa that got transformed into a restaurant. The bar has some window seatings over-looking the street. The service was good (not great). Food was really disappointing. I had the scallops appetizer (you can barely see the scallops hidden in slices of cucumber in a very over-powering limy sauce. I would definitely not recommend it. The pasta with chicken liver was edible. Not sure what the hype is about. Food is really not impressive. Will not repeat.
Disappointed after our high expectations.
Our expectations were very high due to the reviews on Trip adviser as well as in the media. Slightly disappointed with the food, it tasted nice but the portions were very small. We spent £170 for 2 starters (scallops which were very tasty, but no cookery involved), and 2 mains (prawns with mole sauce, the prawns weren't cleaned properly with the prawn vein still intact in a couple - which is really inexcusable for a restaurant that is supposed to be one of the "top 50 restaurants in the world") and wine. We decided to cut our losses and leave without dessert. On a plus the waiters are attentive and helpful. The setting is nice.
Bit disappointing
Popped in as a walk in lunch on a whim, I was travelling solo and they had a table available for 90mins. I ordered two dishes on the recommendation of the waiter - a beetroot tartare and a tagliolini with strachinella cheese and chile Serrano. Both were very bland and in my view overpriced for what they were. Service was efficient but not particularly friendly. I popped next door to Blanco Colima and had a much more fun experience with some great cocktails in a much livelier atmosphere. Was a bit disappointed by Rosetta restaurant as other places within the group such as Lardo are great.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!

Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res

Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
