Incredible lunch menu!!
What an amazing restaurant! That made a long time since my feelings were not touched like that in a restaurant!! The quality price ratio is great for the lunch menu, one of the best in this part of Paris! The chief offers you great emotions and really nicely done dishes. I recommend it a lot!!!
Be the first to ReplyWe arrived 7 minutes late (after calling them) and they kicked us out!!
We had a lunch reservation for 4 people for lunch and as we were running late (due to traffic) we called to let them know we would be arriving around 2 PM (they said it was ok). We arrived at 2.07 PM and we were asked to leave (in a quite rude way) as the chef just closed the kitchen at 2pm. We’ve never experienced something like this in any restaurant. Also, very rude waiter/manager.

The restaurant is small and nice The staff is friendly. The dishes look very cozy, tasty but not wow After a 3 dishes, the cook visited us for serving another dish. The cook was very friendly, polite and with a lot of passion for food:)
Be the first to ReplyI love Mexican food and was eager to try a Michelin star one…food was very good but…
Though it says it opens at 12, they were not quite ready. There are no aperitifs, only wines and no rosés…no beer of course…we were told this was because it is a bistrot gastronomique. Service was lackadaisical at best, servers and kitchen staff preferred chatting among themselves than be attentive to customers. Though the food was mainly very good, there were some outstanding dishes, the pigeon in OXTE mole was delicious, though it could have been a bit more tender. The flavors of the beef were also good but to me the best was the trou normand composed of mango sorbet with a mezcal emulsion.

We have had dinner at this fine restaurant before, so we knew what was the expectations. Only this time Chef Enrique Covarrubias & OXTE have received a well deserved MICHELIN star..!! That has not change the flavors, in fact. It has enhanced the presentations and the professionalism of the many people in charge of making you feel “right”..!! The food…words cannot do justice to the flavors in your mouth. The minute you taste it. And this continues with dish after dish of extremely delicious entrees plus wines….!! But the summit of your meal will most definitely be, the dessert. A avocado shape chocolate casing, filled with avocado l, lemon ice cream. With avocado seed shavings…!!! Wow, wow..! Next time in Paris, do make sure you make a reservation to visit and experience the flavors of OXTE.
Be the first to ReplySomething deliciously different in Paris
One of only a small handful of places where you can get haute mexican cuisine in Paris. It's pricey but worth it. Delicious creations that are a little bit Mexican, a little bit French, and all the way enjoyable and well plated. Wine pairings were good. Service was spotty-slow to clear plates for such an expensive/michelin starred place, but not horrible. Would recommend for a splurge when you want something a little different than all that traditional french food you've been eating.
Be the first to ReplyYes, there is fine dining Mexican fair in Paris. And it's fantastic!
The thought of a fine dining, 1-star Michelin Mexican restaurant in Paris is the right sort of restaurant to get my attention. And it didn't disappoint. We ended up taking a lunch reservation due to a full dinner schedule but found the food and service at Oxte rivaled and even exceeding other Michelin restaurants with equal and higher star ratings. An intimate setting, the restaurant showcased a vibrant décor that was a welcome break from the typical moody sort, often found in Paris. Each dish was carefully plated to showcase the elements that are bright and Instagram worthy but if anything exceeded the look of each dish, it was the flavor. Packing the punch you’d expect in Mexican cuisine, but perfectly balanced with fine dining and inventive cooking techniques. Starting with the Langoustine and Gnocchetti courses, to the pork rib and Rubia Gallega steak with shaved black truffles, each dish is perfectly crafted to stimulate the finest dining experience without pretention. To top it off all off, Chef Enrique Casarrubias ensures he takes the time to make his way through the restaurant to spend a few minutes with each guest. This may be a 1-star Michelin restaurant, but the experience from service to each course was better than even some 2-star Michelin restaurants we dined at.
