This place is overpriced and overrated! First it is not a restaurant. It is an open lobby of Le Meurice. Beside the standard of high ceiling, long windows, some pots and plants, there was not much to see. There was no separation. The tables were right in the passing corridor of hotel guesses. If you expect a quiet and delightful afternoon tea time, then this is not the place. We arrived 15 min early and wanted to wander around. Instead after checking in, we were told to sit in waiting area and waiting to be called. 20 min later no one called, we asked the hostess. And again she checked our appointment and told us to wait. 10 min later we asked again then were ushered to a table in the corridor. There were only us, a party of two, and another older couples. Otherwise there were peoples walking around with suitcases and kids We asked to have another table further away the traffic. The hostess was not pleased. She placed us after 10 min of excuses. And the place was empty at all time! The pastries were supposed from a famous chef, Mr. Cédric Goslet. There were 8 pieces in three trays. Two of them , chocolate stuffed with cheeses in the form of fruit, cherry and peach, were excellent, delicious and artful. Likely the work of the chef. The others, 2 scone muffins, 1 salty salmon bagel bite, 1 chicken sandwich, fresh berry, and red velvet cookie were supermarket grade. They could be found in other sidewalk coffee shops. The chocolate were delightful. They looked like fresh fruits, but they were cheese and chocolate, melted easily with a gulp of tea. Wonderful taste and lasting sweetness! The teas were fine. We have tasted better teas from South East Asia or Middle East. They were typical Western European teas. Our waiter was quite nice and polite. The service was however less attentive. There was a little 5 min sand clock timer. We had to wait 5-7 min for tea fully soaked. Well for all these, $100 per person was a little difficult to swallow ( no punt intended). It was surely one time only experience
