The Ultimate Nurturing Experience
We had been looking forward to our lunch to celebrate a birthday for a few months. RGR didn't disappoint! We had the prestige menu. It was superb. 10/10. We don't drink alcohol, so as an aperitif we were offered a sparkling tea from Denmark. It was beautifully refreshing! Utterly delicious. It was so irresistible, we continued to drink it throughout the meal, which wasn't our plan at all! I could talk about the details of this incredible experience, the wonderful attentive service and beyond delicious food for days. Suffice to say it was excellent. EXCELLENT. One thing I will add is that we were surprised how cosy and 'at home' we felt. The chairs were so comfortable and the environment was unexpectedly nurturing -- a really gentle space. We loved that. We really loved that. Thank you, all at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. We will be back.

Dissapointed, underwhelming food, plain and bland for a restaurant of this caliber and this price. Way overpriced and service a little overwhelming. The lady in charge of taking the orders in the very small restaurant space, (. 20 waiters going around like crazy around the 300 sq ft space, the chef’s table in the middle of the foyer right next to the restrooms is just ridiculous) your table was border line rude, serious and putting pressure on us through out the meal. We went with our pre teen daughters for her birthday celebration and the food and experience ( it is not worth the $ 1300 pounds we spent. We have been to many michelin stars restaurants through out Europe and US *,**,*** in Italy, France, Spain and this have have been by far the worst food and service ever.

Great experience, expectations were not disappointed. The place is small and welcoming, very elegant and classic both in furnishings and in the mise en place. The level of the dishes presented by the patron chef Matt Abé is excellent, the menu we chose, for the first time at Gordon Ramsay, represents classic French cuisine. The service led by the general manager Enrico Baronetto and all the staff was also excellent, they moved between the tables like butterflies, efficient and never intrusive. I recommend the experience, obviously the cost is demanding, but being a three Michelin star restaurant, it is not excessive.

I really liked this elegant London address for a three star the restaurant was lively, trendy original but nice very reasonable prices for the level of restaurant perfect service all the dishes and starters were good, well presented, we liked everything brioche bread to die for the surprising ending ice cream truly a great experience

Like I died and went to heaven, the food was ethereal, other worldly and like nothing I have ever experienced. The staff were beyond incredible, I didn’t know such angels existed in the service industry. Thank you so much for making my husbands birthday so special.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening The whisky was a great surprise but now we laugh about it We used to measure extravagances in the number of bottles of Cristal, now it's whiskies at Gordon's Looking forward to going back

I loved our experience here. It was a significant birthday treat from The Mrs to me, and it was our first Michelin 3* experience. I didn’t know what to expect and went open minded. I didn’t do any research or looking up of pictures or menus or food. I wanted to go on the journey and what a journey it was. The exterior is discrete. The dining room quiet and elegant. The service is attentive without spilling in to fussy. And the food, it is something else. The Mrs had the Menu Prestige and I had the Carte Blanche we both tried each others dishes to share the experience. All courses were excellent but for me the stand outs were the lobster custard, the scallop, the venison and the chocolate orange desert. The soup that started it all was amazing. Rich, flavoursome, textured with the bubbles and froth. I don’t know how the kitchen made the desert but the almond shaped pieces were ingenious. A hard shiny or dusted shell with delicious interiors, no marks to show how they were created, filled or plated. Proper skills. Thank you to the team for the experience and to The Mrs for the most accomplished meal yet.

I do like this place - have been on a number of occasions for both business and with friends and it never fails to impress. The decor is plain and unpretentious as the star is, and always should be, the food. The food arrives and to be honest I spend a moment bracing myself just looking at it, as the presentation is stunning, in most cases, a work of art. I’ve never yet eaten anything there that doesn’t taste amazing. I wish the portions were a little larger and the bill a lot smaller but what an experience.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food but service need to be personalized
The kitchen is still excellent BUT the service is far below 3 stars. I have been to this restaurant several times during the last 10 years. The service has declined, not delivering the extra, that made this an unique experience as well as the personal service received at all other 3 stars in Europe. I hope this will change to the better, so its worth coming back.

Restaurant Gordon Ramsey is supposed to be at the pinnacle of the UK dining scene. A prestigious 3 star restaurant that has held 3 stars for over 20 years. Three star restaurants should astound you with flavour and the experience. For that, you (happily) pay the hefty price tag. The disappointment therefore was that Restaurant Gordon Ramsey just didn’t meet expectations. The food was good, but not exceptional. Fairly predictable and uninventive. The ambience which also is incredibly important, was just odd. Saturday evening sitting and over half the tables contained disinterested guests who sat on their phones all evening.. made even more noticeable in an intimate venue where all the table settings face into the room. There’s nothing wrong with the restaurant, and if it had been a 1 star with a 1 star bill, it would have met expectations. Unfortunately however, it was a 1 star experience with a 3 star price tag. Other 3 star restaurants in the UK are incomparably better than this.

Fantastic experience for the whole family, our waiter, BT, was charming. We woud like to come back for sure
Be the first to ReplyFor years an annual treat…but this time a shock
Unpretentious elegant service delicious food. After coming here for many years this time I was shocked at the unexpected add on at the end of the bill of the 20% VAT. In the past only the 12% service was added on ( now 15%)at the end and the VAT was already in the menu prices. It just seemed a little sneaky.

My wife and I made a reservation for our anniversary this evening and unfortunately my dad was taken seriously ill and admitted to hospital I phoned the restaurant to reschedule but they refused and charged us £300 cancellation fee although these were unique circumstances. Appalling service and will not be returning to the restaurant. No compassion whatsoever

As excellent as ever, very much enjoyed the Carte Blanche menu concept and bold wine pairings that spark a conversation. Not sure I'd book the chefs table, it's in 'reception' and resembles that of being called before a select committee

One of the best dining experiences we’ve had. The service was impeccable, ambience and atmosphere perfect - the right balance between formal and informal. Food was exceptional, I’m still thinking about the puy lentil cappuccino!

Went to lunch with much excitement for what would come. We arrive at 12 for there to be no music and only 1 other table in which in my opinion made the mood quite awkward. The canapés starter and bread course were reallly spectacular, and as the restaurant started having more guests the atmosphere became more comfortable. The middle courses were mediocre at best. Nothing special. No wow factor. The desserts were actually some of the best we’ve had in a Michelin starred establishment. My main reason for writing this review was for the general atmosphere and friendliness of the staff. Yes… they were attentive to detail however me and my partner definitely agreed that there seemed to be no passion and frankly quite rude front of house. They really made this restaurant feel not worthy of a 3 star. Overall. I am a huge fan of Gordon Ramsey but in this case I have been to far better 1 star restaurants. What should have been a mind blowing and memorable experience will be forgotten within a day. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Waste of money and a shame to the Gordon Ramsey name.
Be the first to ReplyStay away from the «inspiration table».
Our visit at the inspiration table was more like the staff wardrobe table. The table was set in the hallway with the entrance, toilet and bar/sommelier area in close proximity. Very busy and noisy. Both arriving guests, guests on their way to and from the restrooms and staff were passing us non-stop. The website said that the food should be presented more profoundly with details regarding it’s creation, it was completely impossible to hear anything, which it seemed like the chef also noticed as the presentations got shorter. We felt more like we were working the reception. This table should be removed. Once we entered we were explained that even though we had a set menu, they did not prepare wine pairings but they could mix something together if needed, but no careully tasted wine package was created for this menu, and that was quite notable. The wines were by themselves great, but dit not fit the dishes as one would expect. Almost like the kitchen and the dommelier did not play the same game. They were also not presented with taste notes, which again told me that they were paired on a theoretical base, but not actually tasted with the dish by the sommelier. We had one non-alcohol guest at our table. The only non alcoholic beverage available was sparkling tea, in addition to coke and sprite. From a 3-star restaurant i expect a paired non-alco package as well. We started with some wonderful cannapees and champagne. Especially one with creme fraice and caviar with maple syrup poured over was amazing. The first starter was scallops this dish was amazing, absolutely what you expect. The following lobster dish was equally amazing. Afterwards they served a wonderfuly prepared cod, with a red wine and bacon reduction poured over which was amazing by itself, but killed off the taste of the cod completely, as a norwegian I’ve had my fair share of cod, with this strong tasting sauce, maybe a cliff-dried fish, making it more of a baccalao would have done the deal. The lamb was OK, but more of a bib gourmand style. In other 2 and 3 star restaurants they aways prepare something tableside in an impressive way. Except for their love if pouring sauce over things, such was abscent. Next, a small piece of bree, with more sauce poured over. The wine pairing with the cheese was a total miss, we told the sommelier, who told us he disagreed, and vanished never to be seen again. A small pre-desert of rhubarb before they poured chocholate sauce over some chocholate and hazelnut mouse. Both average. All together below a three star michelin standard. Especially the noise around the table killed much of the mood. We complained to the manager who apologised and deducted the service charge. The meal was still way overpriced compared to it’s value. Had this been a one starr restaurant, and prices like that, they wouls have goten a much better review from me. The manger told us that the website informed about the noise around the inspiration table, I’ve checked this and could not find such information. The whole experience makes me woder: Is Gordon Ramsay actually still a part of this production, or is his name just a brand to draw attention?

Let me preface this review by stating that the service was impressive, there were many staff and they were very attentive. You couldn't take a sip of water without it being topped up for you. They were all very well presented and professional. We visited RGR to experience our first three star restaurant having only previously experienced a two star or below. We had high expectations, especially because they had maintained their stars for 25 years. We have however had mixed experience with starred restaurants. I am Vegan, my partner is not. We often visit to try the tasting menu to see the best that they can offer, and in this case we both ordered the Prestige menu. Important due to direct comparison considering the cost is the same. We had sent an email in advance explaining that I am Vegan and we didn't want to see what so often happens, which is that the meat eater gets a dish, and the Vegan gets the same dish, minus all of the elements which are not vegan. Leaving a sad replica. This is mostly what we got. The Amuse-bouche were great. (not fantastic) and I didn't feel left out. However the first course of Salad was a bad start. My partner got a duck salad and the waiter described a honey and vinegar sauce which she drizzled over it. I was presented with the same salad, without the duck, and the waiter attempted to pour the sauce before I covered my plate with my hand and verified that it had honey in it, and explained that I am vegan. This is not the experience I would expect of a Michelin restaurant. The bread arrived next, and the normal bread looked phenomenally delicious. The waiter joked about how it was time for her favourite course and presented it to my partner, I love bread, this stuff looked like magic. It was fluffy and golden, 4 segments and glazed with something like honey again. Beautiful. Then they served me two sad slices of wholegrain sourdough bread. They were really not the highlight of my day. The flavour was almost non existent and obliterated by the olive oil they were served with. (nice olive oil). The next course, I had 3 pieces of asparagus with some sauce. My partner had Gordons renowned lobster ravioli. (You don't hear about Gordons famous trio of asparagus stalks.) the pre-desert was classic as well. my Partner had quince sorbet, with a honey icecream and topped with a beautifully presented honeycomb. You could see with my dish, that they started just as strong. I had the same quince sorbet. - then... they just presented it to me. We are paying the same amount for this experience remember. The vegan doesn't get a discount for the fact that they receive 1/3rd of the dish... I have to hand it to them, the main desert was beautiful. Truly delicious - really enjoyable. It did not make up for the whole experience. They had recently increased their prices for the menu as well (after we booked, prior to paying) so we paid over £500 for what would be a truly forgettable experience were it not etched into my memories as such as disappointment. We have eaten much better elsewhere at a fraction of the cost. The bar gets set higher when you expect a large payment for a service. So deliver on that promise.

The best. Without doubt the best restaurant we've visited. From the moment you enter through to departure, you want for nothing. Great food, drink and service.

I’ve waited a few months to write this review. Maybe we’re outliers, but the experience was only memorable in the fact that it was gloriously underwhelming. The dishes were fine; the ‘space’ uninspiring. I took my wife for her sixtieth birthday. Could have gone to many an exciting city for what we paid. No regrets though.. life can throw curved balls at you, and you just have to ride the punches.. I love a mixed metaphor.. Recommended only if you have bottomless resources..

We came here for my birthday. I got a lovely card from the restaurant staff on arrival. We had the prestige 7 course starter menu. I could have had the 7 course Surprise menu but the Prestige menu had crab, lobster, fallow deer and turbot on it; all my favourites. The staff were engaging, informative and friendly. The wine was amazing along with the champagne to start and the port to finish. Have the extra cheese course! Also got a little chocolate cake with a candle at the end that was like a Jaffa cake. First time at this restaurant but went to Petrus at the end of last year. Gordon is possibly the best chef we have visited.
Be the first to ReplyA rare change to experience perfection.
We have eaten in many of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants but this was our first visit here. We received a truly warm welcome and we’re shown into the dining room, which had an understated classic feel. We were presented with a number of “treats” as we looked at the menu, which were all lovely and very different. We opted for the Carte Blanche, a surprise tasting menu, which was a great decision. Every course was so well crafted, striking just the right balance. Service throughout was absolutely perfect, every member of staff being friendly and efficient to a level it is impossible to fault. Of course this is not a cheap meal but it is an experience and, in my view, offers a rare taste of perfection.
