Very nice exotic experience
Long review coming up . It was my first time at this restaurant and I was truly impressed. the service is friendly and professional. The restaurant (we were on the dining room side not casual side) is really nice and cozy. Perfect for date night . We reviewed the menu and opted to go with the staff selection, we are vegetarians. It turns out the suggestions were all great and tasty . the selection comes to about 50 $ per pers. + drinks + dessert . In the end, the bill is showing the individual price of the dishes that were selected for you and it does comes to about 50 $ / pers, the difference you don't pick your food and you trust the staff choices according to what you tell them in terms of preferences it's not a 'selection' as such and we were offered the same food as the tables around us that had opted for the same option. I've discovered really delicious flavor combinations and selections. a few misses, the spicy fries were ok but nothing special and they got cold fast . Be aware they go heavy on the spices in every dish . Sumac and lemon are very powerful and we had a hard time finishing the last dishes our tongues were burning. The wine selection and the sommelier were good . 15 $ for 1 glass is a bit high but it was for a special night . The desserts are fabulous, I had the knaffe and my wife had the creme caramel, both excellent. A few opportunities for improvement: the music in the background was not on par with the restaurant vibe . They do go heavy handed on the dressing with some dishes . We were offered to take home whatever we could not finish but we thought they would pack the leftover for us instead of bringing boxes and bags at the table for us to do everything ourselves. All in all it was a very pleasant dining experience, perfect for a special occasion. We will come back for another special occasion but we will probably make our own choices next time . Note: finding parking on the streets around can by challenging, make sure to read the street signs and restrictions.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing despite all the noise of being great, far from it!
I had lunch with my husband,we ordered several dishes that were suggested ,the quality was average and taboulé was not fresh, wilted and soggy .We also had the chicken dish that was drenched in this thick white sauce ,did not look too appetizing! Problem was when we left the restaurant we both didn’t feel well, till next day we had stomach upset! If you want to eat Syrian food go to Damas ,never disappointing,Alep is not a place I would suggest to anyone!
Be the first to ReplySuper, wonderful experience and food!
We were offered a tasting menu from Stephanie and it was fantastic! I informed her that I didn't each meat nor chicken, only fish and seafood. She brought a stupendous menu! Very delicious and thoughtful of my restrictions! Before our first dishes, she spoke with the sommelier, Thomas, to whom she obvious informed of what she was ordering and sent him to us. He also chose a most excellent wine from Spain. All-in-all a most delicious experience and one that my friends and I will definitely repeat!

Great atmosphere, fantastic music, tasty food. More Syrian than Armenian. European portions of food.

Be the first to ReplyTerrific Alternative to Damas
Food that's almost as good as what is served at Damas, but at only a little more than half the price. Nice atmosphere (quiet enough for normal conversation) and excellent service (they even have a sommelier, which was quite a nice surprise for a restaurant of this type, and which was much appreciated given the fairly large wine list). Great place for sharing, with a wide variety of mezze plates. Though not every dish was a winner (we thought that the chicken in tahini mezze was a bit of an odd dish, and that the shish taouk main was too heavily spiced), there is more than enough on the large menu to satisfy everyone. Especially good was the fatouche salad, the eggplant spread, the filet mignon brochettes, the garlic shrimp (which you can order by the shrimp so that there will be enough for everyone at the table), and the french fries. They should however take their pitas out of the plastic bags before serving them at the table. All in all, a great experience. There's a reason why this restaurant has been in operation for 46 years, which is an eternity in this business. We will return.
