Start with bread served with eggplant, appetizers (PACCHERI ALLA AMATRICIANA, POLPETTINE, CARCIOFFI followed by pork chop, salmon and Brandi I, followed by cheesecake and chocolate ice cream, bring your wallet, it is worth it, excellent service

We made a reservation for birthday dinner. Right from the beginning, the hostess placed us at the table right by the entrance door and refused to change the table (although it was obvious that there were some available tables). The waiter came literally every 2 minutes asking if we are ready to order. The steak was sub-par and burned and, instead of apologizing, the hostess tried to lecture us that we don't understand how meat should be done (and, certainly, did not take the dish off the bill). Avoid.

Great food and wonderful service. Our drinks were never empty and the homemade pasta was amazing. Chicken Milanese was perfectly cooked

My husband and I went on Valentines night and enjoyed it very much. Will definitely return. Food was good and so was service. Only negative was that we were seated next to the wine room and the door was constantly being opened and it was cold!

This was the second time we visited Rafele. The first time was a disappointment but given that the restaurant was relatively new at the time we decided to give them one more chance.
The hostess looked a little lost and couldn't get on top of things.
The server was in a hurry, not very attentive. Other waiting stuff were solving their issues in a loud manner over our heads.
I had the privilege to sit facing the open kitchen. The -wannabe Italian- cooks disregard almost every hygiene rule in the book.
Bread was dry, beet salad was good. The mushroom pasta was tasty but left me with a strange aftertaste in the mouth like low quality oil. The lamb ragu was packed with rosemary.
After all these we decided to skip dessert.
My wife had a bad stomachache during the night and through the next day.
Overall it looks like this place has no management, no soul and no future after the hype passes.
Nice ambiance and acceptable food
Fine experience at Rafele in Rye. The ambiance and location in Rye are the highlights. Good Italian option in the area.
The food was fine but not memorable. Octopus was tasty but fairly small. The pasta was nice (tried gnocchi and funghi pasta). Overall there are better options in Rye and value for the money not great.
Disappointing
I eat out probably 3-4 times a week. I have have high standards. The food and service needs to be good. First, We were seated in the back room of the restaurant. Not wonderful. Granted we didn’t have reservations but there were many tables in the front. The ambiance in front is definitely different than the bad. Strike one. The service was slow. Strike two. The food average at best. My fresh pasta with mushrooms was tasteless. The pasta ends was hard “not al dente” in some areas. Not moist and tasty. The clams originata were spicy and not the traditional type. The veal was outstanding. It was tender to the taste and the sauce was authentic. The branzino looked fabulous. But again tasteless. In visiting my mom from California. We eat at a number of restaurants in Rye and Harrison and there could be improvement. I will truly this restaurant again. I will sit in the front and will order the more authentic Italian items on the menu. Stay tuned.

Burrata special appetizer arrived and was way too cold. This should be served room temp. Muscles as special appetizer were tasty. Main course Ravioli special had a carbonara sauce that sat under a warmer too long and the cream became “cooked”. Calcio è Pepe spaghetti was really forgettable- this is a classic and should’ve been better. Pizza with zucchini was not hot and in some bites the ricotta tasted sour. Spaghetti with clams was a B+. Steak entree was very good. We sat at a nice round table near the front window. The service was very attentive and we were given a complimentary slice of their cheesecake which was good. Overall we were very disappointed and expected higher quality considering the prices. We’ve been to Italy many times and this just can’t compare.

We are hosting lots of new friends this week, and we tried this restaurant, which was recommended by some of our guests. This was not a disappointment at all. We tried some of the pasta dishes, my favorite was the pappardelle with lamb. Anything with lamb is great. And so few restaurants offer a lamb dish on the menu, usually it would just show up as a special. One of our friends was hoping for chicken Parmesan, which was not on the menu. He asked the server who confirmed the same. However the server took it upon himself to ask the chef and there was no problem preparing chicken Parmesan which came out amazing. The cavatelli with broccoli Rabe was outstanding. A glass of wine was a little pricey, but they have a nice selection, and it perfectly rounded out the meal. The service was excellent, we had no trouble getting into restaurant without a reservation, everybody was very accommodating. As we are hosting many people this week, we brought their menus back to our event to share with our guests.
Be the first to ReplySuperior Italian on Rye's "Restaurant Row"
Rafele was our third "sampling" of the number of really good restaurants lining several blocks of Purchase Street in Downtown Rye. The appetizers, pastas, and pizzas were all good, and the service was prompt and friendly as well, I suppose our only criticism would be the relatively weak selection of beer which, given the nature of the menu, could have offered a bit more range and creativity.

I love this restaurant. I have been there 4 times and each time it has been really good. The chicken is fantastic, and I love the pizza bread. Everything I've had here has been very good.

We had a Mother’s Day dinner for 14 people that was wonderful. The manage Cristian was great and our waiter Maritzo was fabulous. You could not ask for better service or better food. The meat and seafood are both excellent quality. If you are looking for a great Resturant in Westchester this is the place to go.
