Super cute and authentic thai restaurant.
Service was exceptional and the food was delicious. Make sure to call ahead as seating is limited.
Be the first to ReplyMy wife and I went there on a Friday around 9:30pm.
We asked for a table in the 2nd dining room that has more comfortable chairs and said it's ok we can wait. The hostess (skinny tall girl) tried to get us to sit at cramped table in the 1st dining room and we said no it's ok we don't mind waiting. She said it's going to be a very long time before a table opens up in there. This made no sense since it was getting late and we knew people would be leaving soon. It's highly unlikely the entire room of tables just sat down all at once. We said we will wait. My wife heard her mocking us to another staff member saying "they want to wait an hour just to eat for an hour", 8 minutes later our table was ready. she walked us back to the other dining room and we noticed a total of 10 empty tables including five a 4 person tables. Clearly a lot of people had recently left which we knew would be the case given the time. So with so many empty tables now available we asked if we could sit by the window which was a 4 person table. The host said no that's for 4 people and she needs to prioritize. We said but there are so many 4 people tables I didn't see an issue given the restaurant closes in 1.5 hours. She then said that table is for a reservation, I said ok what time is the reservation (I knew she was lying). She said she didn't know and would need to check. I said ok please go check, then without checking all of sudden she said we actually have a reservation at 10pm. I said for that specific table and she lied and said yes. At this point we got really annoyed and decided to eat elsewhere. We told the waiter the reason we were leaving and to please pass our feedback to management. 40 minutes later we walked by and the table in question was empty proving the host was lying. We have been coming here for years and also order delivery because we like the food but after tonight we will never go back to this restaurant. We are also pretty generous tippers and tip 25%-30%. They need to hire staff that are nicer to customers.

I'm not sure how i feel about this place! I ordered takeout the other night, and they forgot the protein in my pad Thai. Pad Thai was also very dry! Perhaps it doesn't travel well. Would maybe go back!

A pure Thai cookhouse you get an authentic Thai atmosphere as long as you understand you are in New York City. The food is very delicious and the customer service is on par with some of the best places I've ever been. I really enjoyed the pad Kee Mao, along with the red curry.
Be the first to ReplyPure Thai was my go-to Thai place in midtown west for years.
However, pre-pandemic, I had too many subpar experiences with takeout and stopped going. I figured post-pandemic, let me give them another try. I'm so glad I did. It was the good old Pure Thai I remembered, possibly even better! The food was delicious. The flavors, the quality, the spice, it hit the spot. They also expanded their seating area and now take reservations which was all a big plus. The dessert was delicious too. Everything was very well executed. The service was great as well. I will definitely be back.

Solid spot! Would recommend- we grabbed a resi last minute and I'm glad we did! Food was so good and very flavorful. Service was good too and it was pretty busy in there! We started off with Thai Iced Tea & Special Drink Lychee Thai Tea Lemonade- delish. Both were very sweet but we liked it. We then tried Shrimp Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. Great servings and prices! Would recommend!

We went on a Friday evening and the overall vibe was busy and cozy, but the food wasn't up to par. We had fried rice, sticky rice, and some more. Their sticky rice wasn't sticky at all. Service was average. Nothing bad, nothing great. We will not be coming back again as there are better choices in the immediate vicinity

In a city where you have lots of options for Thai food and other delicious cuisines- this has been a repeat stop on my trips to NY! The restaurant is cozy and cute, service is friendly and fast and the food is great!I highly recommend the appetizer sampler- a great way to try a bunch of options! Food is fresh, hot and always well prepared.
Be the first to ReplyBeen searching for the best Thai place in the neighborhood.
This wasn't my top pick but still good! My friends loved what they got. I ordered to go and it was done really early so maybe just got a little cold before I ate it.

Definitely a hole in the wall, more vertical than anything, so get those reservations to make sure you have a seat! We were seated near the back at a table with four stools as our chairs, so don't forget to bring your strongest lower back as well. I did my homework and knew going in that I was going to order the crab and pork dry noodles. I would definitely get these again. The noodles were savory with a hint of sweetness, and the pork was soft and flavorful. Other reviews mentioned that there could have been more crab pieces, and I agree. After I mixed everything up in this bowl, I literally lost the crab. Where did they go. I also think the crab itself could have been seasoned more because in those rare bites when I knew I was eating a piece of crab, I might as well not be. The crab added nothing besides the fact that my mind internalized that I was eating crab. Overall I'd for sure recommend this dish though. We also tried their vegetable puffs and fried chicken wings. Puffs and wings were both as to be expected, but I'd get the wings again only because the sauce was amazing. It added sweetness but also a kick of spice. Super solid Thai and offered some dishes that aren't on other Thai menus in the city!

This place is a must visit! Fits in within a strip of restaurants near Hell's Kitchen, sort of like a hole in the wall. Everything on the menu looks tasty which made it difficult to decide what to order. My dining partner and I asked the waiter for suggestions, immediately they expressed enthusiasm over the "dry noodle", signature dish. He mentioned the dry noodles being a top favorite and says he eats it everyday. Obviously with that description we could not help but to try it. When the food came, we saw it looked just like the photograph on the menu. The food tasted even better than it looked, the noodles were soft and delicious, the crab bits were tender, and the pork was slightly crunchy on the edges but soft on the inside. I would definitely order this dish again and recommend it. The noddles aren't truly "dry" as the seasoning from the ingredients sit at the bottom of the bowl making it taste even better the more you dig into it. I added spices they bring out with the dish to make it spicy because that's my liking! Enjoy!
Be the first to ReplyWalking into Pure Thai is like a warm welcome hug.
The fish sauce fills the air, the steam from the noodle bar kitchen, and the hustle and bustle brings you to familiarities of Thailand. We didn't make reservations but got seated rather quickly at the bar. They have expanded their space since the pandemic to next door making it easier to grab seats rather quickly. We ordered the Longan drink, root vegetable puff, crispy tofu, sukhothai pork noodle soup, and pa yao beef noodle soup.Longan drink: cooling for a hot day but was a bit too sweet for usRoot vegetable puff: back in the day it used to be made with chicken. While we don't mind veggies we feel like the puff isn't as fluffy and flakey as it used to be. The root vegetables gives it a more mushy soggy textureCrispy tofu: just as it's named. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! Better than the root vegetable puff Pork noodle soup: still solid as it used to be. Packed full with flavors and the crispy crackling never gets soggy!Beef noodle soup: the flavor is there but more subtle than the pork. Beef was tender and not over cooked. Both noodles were delicious and can be dressed up with the sauces provided.Pure Thai you're always a safe bet. Even though the vegetable puff wasn't the same as it used to be your noodle soups always have us coming back to you.

Went on a Wednesday night and it was super busy as the wait time was 40 minutes. However, we made a reservation beforehand which was really good so would definitely recommend that. It's a small place but the vibes are definitely there and despite it being so busy, the staff is so attentive and still came to check on us often. The meal had us so full at the end!Curry Puffs (7/10)Not the best curry puffs I have had but still did the job as the outside was very soft and the inside was warm and it was a great combination. The sauce that came with it was very sweet and really good.Sukhothai Pork Noodles Soup (9/10)This dish consisted of thin rice noodles, roasted pork, long bean, bean sprout, peanut, dried shrimp, and pork broth. It tasted a bit like a lime or biting into one but I love lime so I loved this and definitely got used to it. There was a great amount of noodles and soup as well as meat. Would definitely recommend this for anyone who doesn't know what to get and definitely satisfied my soup and noodles craving. Nakorn-Patom Duck Noodles Soup (8/10)This dish consisted of thin rice noodles, braised duck meat, water spinach, yu choy, asian celery, bean sprout, and five spice soy broth. There was definitely a difference between these two noodle soups as this one was more salty compared to citrusy but still liked it and the duck was so tender.

I have lived in Manhattan for 10 years and this is the best Thai I've ever had in the city. I used to come here all the time when I lived downtown, and now I live nearby and eat it every week. Highly recommend the pork and crab noodles and the pad Thai.
Be the first to ReplyVery well rounded dishes.
Never had anything bad on the menu and most dishes are excellent. It doesn't hurt that they are also quite fast.
Be the first to ReplyWent here with a few friend for our first meal in NYC.
What a great way to to kick off our food tour. Wonderful service and excellent flavors. I would return.
Be the first to ReplyI found this restaurant on Yelp.
I wanted to try what's Thai food is like in NYC. I ordered their potato puff, Tom Yum Kong noodle, and Thai iced tea. Among all, Tom Yum Kong noodle is the best! However, I wanna give a shout out to their server Mark! He's taking great care of me with excellent hospitality when my body is not responding well with dairy products. I really appreciate it!

Be the first to ReplyPure Thai Cookhouse is yet another great Thai restaurant in
Pure Thai Cookhouse is yet another great Thai restaurant in the Hell's Kitchen area. I ordered the Ratchaburi Crab and Pork Dry Noodles. The handmade egg noodles were delicious and nicely chewy with a slight sweet flavor. The roasted pork was like a less saucy version of char siu pork and was very tasty and tender. The dish could have benefited from more crab meat, since there were just some shreds of crab meat that didn't have much flavor. $19 was a fair price for this dish. The interior of the restaurant is kind of narrow but there is a decent amount of seating and we were able to be seated for dinner without a reservation. The service speed is fast and the staff are friendly and attentive.Overall, Pure Thai Cookhouse gets a solid 4 stars from me. It's tough to decide between the many good Thai restaurants in the area, but be sure to add Pure Thai Cookhouse to your list.
