Ponte Modern American Tampa Reviews from The Last Year
So happy with this place.
Despite waiting 20 minutes after our reservation time, we had a wonderful night. The manager brought us champagne to thank us for our patience. Our server, Natalie, was beyond attentive and friendly. Absolutely get the French onion soup -- best I've had and so worth it. For entrees, my boyfriend got a steak and I got the short ribs. Easily the best short ribs I've had in my entire life. Melted in my mouth. My boyfriend says best steak in Tampa. Come check this place out!!
My wife and I are both foodies and eat out quite a bit
My wife and I are both foodies and eat out quite a bit locally, domestically and internationally! Ponte has definitely ranked highly not only compared to our dining experiences in Tampa but overall! The decor and ambiance was outstanding. The clientele was classy (which has been a declining thing in nicer dining establishments in the Tampa area as of late). The food was exceptional (the mushroom soup Chilean sea bass, were outer worldly). Everything right down to the cheesecake and carrot cake for dessert was so good it's hard to select favorites. The service across the board was excellent, absolutely top notch! I can't recommend Ponte highly enough! We will definitely make it one of our regular spots!!

I went to Ponte to celebrate my birthday with a group of friends. The beginning of our experience didn't start off well. We had an 8:30 reservation for a party of six however when we arrived, we were told the table isn't ready because another party was still finishing their meal. We thought it was a bit ridiculous that we had to wait another 15-20 minutes when we already had a reservation in place. The service however during the meal was excellent. There was complimentary bread service was impressive that included the option to select from a tray of a variety of delicious breads. I loved that their cocktail menu also had a classic version and modern version of each. Everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks. I had the filet mignon with mashed potatoes and enjoyed it. I also thought it was sweet that the waitress figured out that it was my birthday (we didn't tell her) and brought out a bite sized cake at the end. Chef Gary also came out to greet the table personally and also wish me happy birthday. He also gave me a gift box with a Ponte cookie inside. Outside of the initial long wait and somewhat lengthy wait for the bills to be run, it was a fantastic experience! The inside is also gorgeous. Unfortunately, the bar side was closed so I wasn't able to see that part.
Great Hotel
We chose this hotel because it was close to the cruise port and to the Riverwalk. Check in was quick and easy. Our room was spacious and with a good view of downtown. Our bed was sooo comfortable. We both slept like rocks! Breakfast was quite good! We especially enjoyed the personal quiches. We will stay here again!!
We had guests in from out of town.
We brought them to Ponte. Everyone had an amazing time and the food was excellent. It was the service from Natalia that made it extra special. Thank you Natalia.
From start to finish, this meal was divine.
The service was top notch. Our server was knowledgeable and conversational without being intrusive. The restaurant wasn't overly crowded so we could hear each other. You get a great view of the steaks in the kitchen. The food is superb. All around a wonderful night out.
A 5-star experience! Ponte has a classic modern American
A 5-star experience! Ponte has a classic modern American cuisine menu with a lot of seafood and steak options. The ambiance is beautiful, feels classy with white marble accents and white table cloths. The service is impeccable and attentive. They did add little something when we said we were celebrating our anniversary. We had the oysters, parker bread rolls with truffle butter, tuna crudo, escargots. All items that were recommended by our waiter and it did not disappoint! My husband does not like escargots, but these he enjoyed! The bread was great to soak up all that butter too. There was a special fish of the day, turbot with uni pasta and a generous dollop of caviar. Very rich, decadent dish that was well executed. We also had the filet mignon with string fries. The staff is attentive and asks you to cut the steak in front of them to see if it's cooked to your liking. The cocktail menu is interesting and has traditional options as well as "Ponte's" version. I had the Ponte version of an old fashioned with Japanese whiskey and it was elite. Didn't get to the dessert because I ate too much bread. Not only did we order the bread rolls, but they also have a bread tray with other house made options. They deserve a Michelin star in my opinion!
This is one of my new favorites.
Five stars all the way around from the amazing modern decor to the super friendly service from the front of the house to the wait staff team. Our waiter Todd was patient and knowledgeable and a real pleasure. The food and drinks were incredible. They have great spacing between courses so u don't feel too full or rushed. The bread service was delicious. They have the best French onion soup I've ever tasted and their crab cake was to die for! I don't normally like sea bass but my husband's was seasoned and cooked to perfection. My short ribs were incredibly tender and flavorful and the scallion mashed potatoes they served with them were genius. My friend's ribeye was enviable by any of the top steakhouses in Tampa. Cooked spot on and seasoned well. In short, Go. To. Ponte. You won't regret it!
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful food and experience.
Service was great and I'm so glad we had a chance to tour the kitchen.
I would have given them 10 stars.
Excellent food & service. Well worth the price. I will be going back soon.
If you want the waiters and people running the place
If you want the waiters and people running the place staring you down and rushing you through an expensive meal and not mentioning to you that an 18% gratuity is automatically added on to all checks so you add an additional 20% or more as we usually do, then this is the place for you! Meeting the chef for my birthday was a nice touch though. We

Arrived without reservations for a pre-dinner drink with plans to go to Haven. Upon arrival we discovered that the bar is under construction; no matter, we were offered a table and I had my eye on Michelle's Martini, we thusly accepted. I subsequently enjoyed my beverage and the ambience so much that my husband and I canceled our other reservation and stayed for dinner. We were hesitant given the mixed reviews, but our oysters, tomahawk steak for two, and sides were all delicious and service was excellent. We will certainly return.
Great atmosphere and great food.
A nice twist on escargot. Service was very good in a Midtown neighborhood modern place. Valet next door.

We came to Ponte for the first time a few nights ago to celebrate mine & my husband's birthdays. I can't remember the last time we smiled so much during a dinner!! A large part of the reason was our waitress, Natalie, who was such a warm, attentive, and friendly person. The food and presentation was excellent, and all of our dishes were brought out in a timely fashion (big points for this!). They even had birthday cards waiting for both us when we got seated. The restaurant was exquisite with a wonderful interior space/ambiance. I truly cant wait to go back!
I didn't know what to expect since the reviews I've read
I didn't know what to expect since the reviews I've read have been mixed, but I was pleasantly surprised. The space is absolutely gorgeous, elegant and exudes sophistication. Seating is perfectly spaced so you don't feel you're too close to the other patrons. We started with a couple of appetizers (Hamachi Crudo, Bluefin Tuna Tartare, and the Beef A5 Wagyu), which were all amazing, very fresh, and flavorful! For the main course we ordered the Porterhouse and the Lobster Mac & Cheese. The porterhouse was surprisingly a little under seasoned and not as tender as many of the other porterhouse steaks (Charlie's, Haven) we've enjoyed. We also found it to be a little more on the chewy/fatty side and that was the main reason we opted out of the Tomahawk. It was cut beautifully and the truffle butter gave it a little extra flavor, but I would have liked it a little more seasoned. The lobster mac was fantastic and probably the best lobster mac we've had. Tampa is finally stepping up their fine dining.
Excellent! Fabulous dinner and way to celebrate our wedding
Excellent! Fabulous dinner and way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Robin was our server but the entire team were seamless and it was an impeccable experience. We loved Cafe Ponte in Largo and were sad when it closed. And when we learned of this new restaurant by Chef Ponte we knew it was the perfect place for us to celebrate. We were welcomed immediately and everyone knew based on my husband's reservation that it was our wedding anniversary. Employees came by to say happy anniversary. We were given a complementary glass of champagne. We started with complementary bread. I'm glad we did as we thought about getting the special bread rolls. We tried a focaccia, sesame and three cheese bread. So delicious with the butter spread. We ordered the crab cake and burrata appetizer. Phenomenal! I ordered the salmon and my husband ordered the short ribs. We ordered the brussel sprouts as a side. Omg! The balsamic sauce on the brussel sprouts and the thick pieces of bacon were out of this world. The food was exceptional, beautifully presented, and each course was timed perfectly. We even ordered two desserts to share. The special hazelnut mini ice cream sandwich's and the chocolate cake. Both were rich and delicious. My husband ordered two Mai Thai drinks and I had two glasses of white wine. We loved our experience and all of the food. It was a lovely and memorable evening. Robin was a knowledgeable and friendly server. All the staff who came by were so nice. We loved it and are glad we dined her and splurged for our anniversary dinner.
Great food and service.
Staff was attentive and well prepared to present the menu options as well as a nice offering of specials. Foodies and anyone who wants a fine dining experience won't be disappointed.
Went the other night for dinner, the food was really good.
We tried the lobster mac n cheese, steak, Caesar salad, oysters, French onion soup, the sea bass, and the short ribs.
so, I really wanted to like this place.
The ambience is very nice, high ceilings, sexy lit. The drinks were pretty good, they came up pretty fast, but nothing in the food really stupid out to me. The shrimp cocktail was decent, very fresh and pump. The beet salad was just OK. The mushroom soup that they recommend is definitely a hit. we had the crispy rice salmon, which was OK, definitely had better. For the mains we shared a steak which was cooked well. Salmon was also just OK. Sides were ok to good. The dessert was pretty decent, we had the soufflé. service was fine, helpful in decision making. We felt the manager and our server got into a bit of a issue into an error of the order, that was awkward. I'll prob stick to Olivia!!
Decent place to stay in downtown Tampa with a few flaws
Rooms have great space and were set up well for working. There was a lot of drag racing noise several nights which was quite annoying. Also the hvac was either freezing cold or didn’t work at all. The breakfast was fine, normal residence inn fare. Front desk staff was friendly.
Amazing food.
AMAZING. Pricey-- but the best martini and pork chop I've ever had. Great spot to celebrate

This is a review for the service because I never had the chance to dine at the restaurant. I made a reservation and called within the grace period to kindly notify them that I would be later than expected (within 10 mins after grace period) due to traffic. I was in an Uber, it was my birthday and I'm in an unfamiliar city and state. Instead of telling me that I can still keep my reservation and leave by a certain time due to other reservations scheduled the manager told me to not come!! There is no issue with getting in and out within 1.5 hours assuming my table was booked for 2 hrs. On my birthday, dressed and ready to celebrate in style, this rude manager leaves me to search for another birthday dinner option in a city I'm not even familiar with. I'm visiting from DC, which has a higher volume of customers and have never experienced this much disregard for a customer. In NYC, DC, Miami or Chicago, we would never be treated so poorly. Customer service is not this restaurants strong suit. They should consider hiring a new manager or sending the current one to training.

We came to Ponte for our anniversary and the service was exceptional. They welcomed us with a cute card wishing us a happy anniversary and provided two mocktails on the house. The restaurant is stunning and maintains an intimate atmosphere. Our server was so much fun; she said she was the newest server on staff, but she was so professional and took great care of us. We started with the mushroom soup (wild mushroom, truffle creme, black trumpet dust). The flavor was incredible and the soup was very filling. Presentation was excellent. We love mushrooms, so the theme of our entire meal ended up being mushroom. The soup also came with bread. A server brought around a tray of freshly baked bread options. We got the olive bread and their foccacia. So fluffy, fresh, and flavorful. Honestly, I could have eaten bread as the whole meal. For entrees, we got the chilean sea bass (miso, bok choy, pickled beech mushroom, lobster ginger sauce) and boneless short ribs (scallion-potato puree, green apple slaw, jalapeno, chili-peanut crunch). We also got the exotic mushroom market side. WOW. All of these dishes were incredible. The chilean sea bass was glazed to perfection. The boneless short ribs were tender and fell apart. And the exotic mushrooms were so savory and delicious, I could eat them every day. Lastly, we got the passion fruit tart for dessert. I wasn't in love with the chocolate tart itself, but the passion fruit filling was to die for. And the coconut gelato and coconut powder were both so unique. You can tell that the gelato is house made with little chunks of coconut flesh. Obsessed with Ponte after this first experience! All of the dishes we had were incredible and it's a great place to celebrate a special occasion.
Nice Hotel Close to Riverwalk
My family stayed here for one night to view the Riverwalk fireworks. The location is great and within walking distance of the Riverwalk. We had a two bedroom suite that included a full kitchen. The breakfast buffet was great and the rate was reasonable. My only complaint would be the lack of parking and the cost of adjacent parking.

Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate

Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Yes unfortunately they are finding more and more ways to lock up sellers money. Sell thru rate, refund rate, limiting withdrawal amounts ler day and per month (which for me are the same number which makes no sense). Lot of sellers leaving as you can see from the lifetime sales not really increasing. Most posts on here are frustrated sellers which is not a recipe for success

I’m sorry to hear about this - I’m a brand new seller on the platform and didn’t realize this was a *thing* - any chance you can point me to the fine print/documentation where this policy is stated (also identifying other caveats like this would be appreciated)?
