Pirate's Table Calabash Seafood Buffet Surfside Beach Reviews from The Last Year
Couples Night
Great food and atmosphere. Especially the Pirate Host, he and the rest of the staff are very attentive to all customers Would definitely recommend and go again.
These ratings are fake
Food in general was tasteless or bland and not one item was great. Yes, they offer a variety but was not worth the cost in my opinion. I would rather spend $50 at a restaurant and it taste well. The ratings of this place are not realistic. Would not recommend or go back.
Definitely coming back next time
Excellent food, excellent service and the Pirate (Donnie) was absolutely hysterical and paid attention to every single person in the restaurant 10/10 for sure
Can't recommend this place enough!! The food was good but
Can't recommend this place enough!! The food was good but the experience and service is what really makes it. The man who played the pirate was just such a good time-incredible! He walks around and cracks jokes and interacts with the kids. Wait staff are all dressed in costumes. So cool to have a mermaid swimming around as well and interacting with the kids. The dessert bar was delish! The bathrooms were renovated and impeccably clean. Highly recommend
Love it and will come back thanks guys
This place is great! Food was fresh and they where very friendly Donnie is really cool guy very good with customers you must come eat here you will love it it’s got really neat set up with how the food bar is made it’s a ship really neat
Excellent service and food. Plan to come again
This is great restaurant with good seafood and service. Our waitress Savannah was awesome. She kept our table clean. And glasses filled.
Pirate feast
Craving legs goo's. Fried oysters very good. Fried shrimp very good. Prime rib just so-so. But it is a seafood place. Lots of dessert choices.
Some of thre fish was way to salty. Shrimp is not peeled. Staff and restrooms are excellent.
Great looking pirate ship seen. Very clean. The pirate at the front door is great, tells great jokes and funny. Water was great as well.
Serving excellence
Our server Irina did a excellent job serving us, she took well care of us and the food was great. I'm definitely coming back here.
Good family fun
Love the food, atmosphere and if course the pirate ☠ Second time here and had a wonderful time. Thanks for the experience.
The Best food in Myrtle Beach
We ate with my family, the food was fresh, incredibly tasty crabs, very pleased with the service, we recommend it to everyone.
one of the best buffets we have found
Pirate's Table Calabash Seafood Buffet is one of the best buffets we have found at the beach. It's one of our annual stops going on 8 years now. Best food and crab legs you can get
If you're looking for crab legs, then this is worth the $48.
99 per plate. Snow crab legs were plentiful and replenished regularly, and came Cajun style or plain. Did not have a fishy taste to me as mentioned in a previous review. As for the rest of the food offered, it was low end to mediocre. Prime rib station was unattended and seemed to be rationed. The portions varied from over cooked to undercooked. Decor is really cool with a pirate theme and even on a slow night the mermaid was swimming. Service was great and even got a free cocktail as the waitress messed up our first drink order.
Great food and great atmosphere.
The food was very good. Prime rib, catfish, crab legs galore, and many other selections. The service was excellent and very friendly. I loved the themed decor. It was pricy, but worth it for what you could get. I highly recommend.
Not worth the price.
This place is expensive. The food is so so. Service is OK. We were excited to go here but it was a big let down. Yes there is a sailing ship for the food but that was it. We left full but it was not worth the price we paid.
Great food and experience!
Daughter recommended this rest and it was Fantastic! Food was delicious and the service was awesome. We loved the atmosphere and attention to detail from the pools with the surprise and the servers dress.
Very good place to eat
We ate supper here last night and the food was really good. Although there were very few cars in the parking lot and it's competitor up the road we really enjoyed our meal and service. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was because the waitress came by three times before she acknowledged my empty drink glass. Also wish there had been ice cream
My son wanted to go out for his birthday.
I have eaten here before with my wife and children. The food is fresh and kept full. The crab legs here I feel are the Best in Myrtle Beach. Everything was spot on the day we went. It was a Wednesday evening and it wasn't very busy. The Prime rib was very tender, the scallops were very good and flavorful. I would definitely recommend eating here, then some of the other Seafood Buffet restaurants...there is a lot of different foods available for everyone to enjoy....The decor has been updated some from previous years and definitely a needed improvement for the restroom..my family and I will definitely return to this restaurant again..
Skip this buffet unless you’re just going to see the mermaids.
Uncomfortable atmosphere. Chairs were small, too close to other tables and to the buffet. Decorations were ok. All of the food tasted like they used the same seasonings. Unfortunately I did not like the seasoning at all, so I was limited as to my choices. The prime rib was dry and tasted like it had been setting out for a couple of days, had a spoiled taste to it. Very limited on non seafood offerings. The desserts tasted like they were all frozen prepackaged and set out to thaw. The server never stopped by to offer drink refills (3 of us had finished our drinks less than halfway through our meal). The only nice thing was the mermaid, which my granddaughters really enjoyed. There are much better buffets that are the same price (if not less) that give you more food choices.
We've eaten here for years on vacation(was The Sea Farer
We've eaten here for years on vacation(was The Sea Farer before moving from Murrells Inlet). We loved it then.....and have tried to give them a chance to make things better since changing hands. They've out priced themselves! $49 is a bit steep for sub par food, cheap sides (corn, carrots, rice, baked potatoes etc) and the desserts are gross.....institutional food is 80% of their menu! Salad bar has no fresh fruit anymore, beef items are over cooked and leathery, shrimp still has the mud vein, Drinks are not included-not even tea or lemonade! Restrooms floors are so slick and greasy I can't help but wonder what the kitchen looks like. ALL the staff has very thick accent and act like they don't understand you-and expect big tips for removing plates. Hard to get water refills but I'm sure if you're buying drinks they're all over refills for more $ Oh and they give the locals a discount. Not sure that's cool!! We're finished eating there forever! Sad to ruin a longtime tradition buttttttt......
It's a tourist trap.
Food wasn't that good. The mashed red potatoes were the best item on the buffet. Two people $130 and the best item was mashed potatoes. Service was great. Décor was awesome. Clean. When you exit the restaurant you have to exit through a gift shop. Tourist trap. Crabby Mikes down the street was much better food. Same price.
Our family’s new favorite!
Joined the Captain and mates at the pirates table🏴 ☠️ And very pleased we did. The mate assign to our table was checking on us continually the food was awesome , and such a variety to choose from. My granddaughter saw the mermaid and said “it was the best day of her life!!!” This will be on the top of our list every time we visit the coast. Thanks pirates table for an awesome Adventure!
I have to say i was pretty impressed this place really gave
I have to say i was pretty impressed this place really gave Captain George's (a competitor seafood buffet that is where a lot of people go to) a run for their money. The restaurant was VERY clean, even the restroom was impressive. The exterior could use some work though but it gets the job done. Our server was kind and attentive as well. The food was comparable to other calabash buffets and surprising to say well seasoned. They even had a photographer go table to table and offer a free print pic (in hopes of course you will buy additional prints, but the did not come across pushy at all when we declined) and the neat touch was the mermaid just floating near by doing tail flips for tips lol. Gotta say I would probably return if I was in town and a buffet mood.
A bit to expensive but cute for the children.
I was on vacation so it is expected but I didn't think I will go again if I visit Myrtle Beach
I learned pretty quick that Calabash is code for low
I learned pretty quick that Calabash is code for low quality cafeteria style buffets in Myrtle. But this one took the cake. The best thing about this restaurant was the live mermaid meet and greet. Not worth the price at all and it was next to impossible to get drink refills.
The atmosphere is fun for kids & families but can also get
The atmosphere is fun for kids & families but can also get very overwhelming/overstimulating. However I loved the mermaid, that was also a fun touch. The food was pretty good! Better crab legs than many other seafood buffets in the area.
The food was good for a buffet!! The best thing on the menu
The food was good for a buffet!! The best thing on the menu where the Cajun crab legs!! The crab legs are most definitely all you can eat!!
Skip this and head to captain George’s
I’ve eatin at all of the crab leg places in the area and this one is not that great mermaids are cool. Crab legs are decent but all of the other food on the buffet isn’t as hat great.
Great Place!
Amazing Place! Excellent food! Great service. The mermaid was awesome for kids! Decoration is really awesome!
The crab legs and service were awesome.
We got there early so we didn't have a long wait. All of the food was good but we came for the crab legs. Didn't disappoint.
Awesome Experience
Don't pass this up! Good is awesome! From crablegs, all you can eat, to prime rib, everything is cooked to perfection! I have a very picky eater who refuses to eat seafood. There was enough variety that he enjoyed it. From chicken nuggets, country fries, and stuffed shells, he was happy. What made this experience even better was the friendly service. From the moment we walked in, they were extremely kind and helpful. Also, did I mention the mermaid? My little girl was thrilled. This is our second time eating there. It's now a family tradition.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
