Pier 6 Boston Reviews from The Last Year
Located on the Charlestown waterfront, Pier 6 Restaurant
Located on the Charlestown waterfront, Pier 6 Restaurant shines, especially in the spring and summer. Accessible via a boat (and has a free shuttle from East Boston Pier), its setting enhances the dining experience. With a lively crowd, Pier 6 offers refreshing drinks and delicious seafood and classic dishes that perfectly match its vibe. Definitely a great place to check out!
Food is wonderful.
Lots of choices. Amazing It sits on the head of Boston Harbor. The views are epic. During the summer inside or out. Enjoy a day on the water
We sat outside and had amazing view of the marina and ship
We sat outside and had amazing view of the marina and ship traffic. The food was AMAZiNG. The staff was very helpful. The indoor seating is not accessible for ADA customers.
Great food and service.
Enjoyed the inside views, outside seating with spectacular views. Waitress was knowledge and very friendly. Kid friendly menu.
Fried calamari garnished with a few hot peppers, marinara
Fried calamari garnished with a few hot peppers, marinara and lemon. A home run! This has been the tastiest calamari I've had ever. The delicacy of the fish comes through with its nice light batter the right and the calamari melted in my mouth. Worth it to have on the table to be shared. Plenty of rings and tentacles. smoked salmon Benedict was really delicious with eggs delicately poached, the fresh salmon, the salad and the holiday and home fries make it a really delicious meal. my friend liked the avocado, toast and ordered scrambled eggs to go with it. I recommend this place. A limited menu, but mindfully prepared. Delicious. Server: Exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. Our server was efficient, polite and made our meal more enjoyable. She went out of her way to make sure our food was cooked the way we had asked. The views from Pier 6 has a gorgeous view of the Boston skyline looking across the harbor. Sometimes places that have the view have food that is subpar. Pier 6 brings both of these elements to their business and I hope they continue to do this. I recommend Pier 6, worth trying.
Last week, my family and I revisited Pier 6, nestled at 1
Last week, my family and I revisited Pier 6, nestled at 1 8th St in Charlestown, MA. Despite having been there nearly a year ago, this visit was dedicated to exploring their enticing fall menu. Our libation journey began with the "Paper Boat," a delightful concoction of Maker's Mark bourbon, aperol, and zesty lemon. A must-try for bourbon enthusiasts, this cocktail set the tone for an evening of palate-pleasing experiences. The classic margarita featuring Ocho Blanco tequila, triple sec, and lime, along with the Piña Colada infused with Blue Chair coconut rum, added a tropical flair. Wrapping up the prelude was the timeless classic, the espresso martini - a perfect prelude to a delightful meal. Venturing into appetizers, the Blackened Swordfish Tacos showcased a harmonious blend of flavors, accented by avocado lime crema and jicama slaw, earning a solid 8/10. The fried calamari, adorned with sliced cherry peppers, earned a commendable 7/10 for its well-seasoned, zesty appeal. A visual and gastronomic delight, the tuna tartare with avocado, mango, chili oil, and wontons stood out as a favorite, offering a delightful sharing experience. Transitioning to the main course, the grilled hanger steak with broccoli and watercress salad proved to be a satisfactory choice, meriting a 7/10. However, stealing the spotlight were the pan-seared scallops, sautéed in a vegetable succotash and complemented by a citrus carrot purée - a truly decadent delight deserving of a 9/10. Equally impressive was the grilled swordfish, accompanied by Israeli couscous, mussels, cherry tomatoes, and a green olive chimichurri. The flavorful couscous and impeccably fresh swordfish earned this dish a solid 9/10. Concluding the entrees, the seafood fry diavolo , boasting linguine, spicy pomodoro sauce, mussels, and shrimp, though not overly spicy, delivered a tasty experience with well-cooked mussels and shrimp, earning a respectable 7/10. Beyond the culinary delights, Pier 6 offers a breathtaking view of Boston, coupled with an intimate ambiance. This gem in Charlestown deserves a visit for its excellent dishes and overall dining experience. Food: 8/10 Affordability: 7/10 Ambiance: 8/10
Food, service and ambiance the best in Charlestown MA.
Our server Shirley was lots of big smiles, and David also was great. We ordered the steak and that was enough for two hungry people to split. Cool drinks and fast service so we could catch a nearby ferry. Best views in Boston. Thanks again, can t wait to return
Yummy with a view and awesome service
Riley was awesome help! "pointed us to the good stuff for lunch"! we had about 10 of us and were seated in a very cool private room overlooking the harbor! that was an unexpected treat! oh how l loved Paying at the table verses a cashier or taking the card and returning. Yummy Grilled chicken sandwich and Swordfish tacos!
Great views with Good Service
Amazing views at Sunset… we had drinks & appetizers, everything was really good! Wish the charcuterie board came with some jams or spreads
The view is a 5+, the ambiance is a 5 because of the view
The view is a 5+, the ambiance is a 5 because of the view but food is so so. The shrimp cocktail did not taste fresh , chicken sandwich was ok but the clam/corn chowder was excellent. We went on one of those warm October days and there drinks did hit the spot. 4 stars for the drinks. They also have a free boat taking people to their sister restaurants in East Boston which is nice on warm days. However the food was only 3 stars on average.
This place had all the cool Sunday vibes if you want to
This place had all the cool Sunday vibes if you want to just chill out and and enjoy the water views. Service was a bit slow so pack your patience bc the place is small and everything is prepared fresh. We were looking for a quick bite before heading off to the airport, particularly feeling for a yummy bowl of clam chowda. We ordered the lobster roll and clam chowder and the roll was meh...not the best but still pretty satisfying. Now let's get to the chowder...delicious. Packed full of clams, not too much thickener. Just what I was looking for. Check out the pic and decide for yourself. I just wish this app had a scratch and sniff mode. It was sooooo yummy.
Great dinner spot to watch the sunset.
Food is reasonably good too, with a broad range of items on the menu to keep things interesting. We ordered the mezze dip with zaatar chips and Malaysian wings as starters. (Don't expect authenticity! But I enjoyed both.) Lots of seafood options as you'd expect at a dockside restaurant, with some vegetarian and meat proteins on offer as well. We shared a seafood fra diavolo linguini and broccolini side, and a lobster roll on a healthily-sized platter of salad and sweet potato fries. Our server was great - quick service, very accommodating. And if you're nervous about the Charlestown parking situation, don't be. There's a parking lot in the building across the restaurant, and my friends and I lucked out in getting cheap metered on-street spots (downside is that it's only good for 2 hours till 8pm.)
Not at all up to expectations
This place was highly recommended for great seafood and wonderful views. The views were good enough. But the food left a lot to be desired. The selection of seafood was very limited. There was no local fish at all. There were swordfish tacos that were pretty good. Most of us ended up ordering seared scallops. They cost $39, and when they arrived, there were three somewhat small scallops that came with microgreens and an interesting succotash. The scallops were a bit on the chewy side, somewhat tasty, but not worth $13 each! One of us ordered the Brussel sprouts, and they were quite good. The service was subpar. Our server was not especially pleasant, and not at all attentive. She breezed by once to see if everything tasted good (before I had had a chance to bite into the scallops). Then she didn't return until much later when one of us tracked her down to refill the water. She was quite surly after that. All of the servers spent their time at the bussing station visiting with one another with what looked like a party atmosphere. For an upscale restaurant, the service was quite poor. If all you want is a drink, maybe some bar food, and some good views, you might try this place. But there is far better food to be obtained in any number of other restaurants nearby. And the service will be better too! (Just as an example, we went earlier to the Warren Tavern in midafternoon. They were slammed, and the servers were literally running to fill orders and try to satisfy the customers. Yet they were still pleasant. I'll probably review that place just for contrast.)
Exquisite attention. Exceptional place.
Excellent service, unbeatable location. The terrace has the best views of Boston. Very good food, very attractive menu. We ordered mussels, calamari and chicken wings. Everything is very rich. Detail that they offer you glasses of water. Highlight Dragan's attention. Fabulous waiter. A must visit if you are in Boston.
Pier 6 on the Water !
Pier 6 is one of our go to places in Boston. We live downtown and either walk over there or take a water taxi across the harbor. The views are stunning, the bar is a great place to watch a summer Sox game and the food is class A. I recommend the oysters. The wait staff is superb and the waitresses are friendly and happy. There are several different levels of the restaurant with three different bars…all with harbor views. A very young crowd. After a great afternoon, the restaurant provides a free water taxi back over to the Seaport….a great way to end the day.
Disappointing in Every Way
Extremely disappointing dinner here for a birthday celebration. We waited over 15 minutes to even be acknowledged at our table and service continued bad throughout the meal. Our server walked by our table numerous times and never removed our empty appetizer plates. The food is over-priced and not exceptional in any way. The view is lovely, but there is nothing else to recommend this restaurant. This restaurant is unprofessional and is getting by because there is a good view and a lively bar.

Thank you for the question, if a seller is working on answering your bid, you cannot cancel it until their time is up and the bid is released back to you. The full amount of funds then go back into your AT account. Typically a seller has 48-72 hours to complete the bid.
