Good bar scene with courteous service
Very good ambience, cosy bar scene and trendy crowd ! Bar appetizers were very good, especially the beef satay. Super nice service
Be the first to Replyfantasy peking duck
peking duck was the best I have ever had world wide it was moist crispy and so fresh the ducks are brought in daily it was amazing, the mignon beef was the best I have ever had so was the green prawns along with chows noodles and eric our service was very attentive and caring he took total care of us, we loved it so much we went back again for the peking duck!
Be the first to ReplyFood over priced and mediocre at best
Over rated. Period. Chose this restaurant for the crispy Peking duck with pancakes. Utter waste. The pancakes were awful and the duck was desperately dry. In fact each pancake was layered with plastic in between and were wet. Disgusting and disappointing. The chef refused to come and see us when requested. BUT the Chilean sea bass was delicious albeit a mediocre portion. Dumplings were tasty put over priced for what we got. The staff were excellent however. A free dessert was brought to us to appease us( not asked for). I can’t fault the wait staff who were attentive and friendly. Food was not worth it.

Be the first to ReplyContemporary Restaurant with a touch of Asia
Enjoyed a nice family dinner. The menu has a broad variety of choices with many of them Asian spices and styles. I’d though put this restaurant into the fusion category as it is very western. We enjoyed the food and service and the prices were OK for NYC.
Be the first to ReplyA bit pricey but everything was good.
Finally tried out Philippe Chow. It was a pleasant experience, food was great, service was great and ambiance was really good. A bit on the pricey side, but it was worth it. We had the shrimp rolls, hot & sour soup, dynamite chicken, shrimp, rice, noodles and the red velvet cake. Everything was really good. Only con I can thing of is that the tables are really close to each other.

We had an early dinner on a weekend night. We chose outdoor dining. Food was fresh but not epic. My husband did love the filet but other dishes were average,p. Our server was attentive. Unfortunately another party had a terrible child who had shrieking outbursts. No one stopped the child or ask the adults to take action.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent staff - some diners - terrible manners
I sat on taste panel of Fortune 100 company years and I’ve produced food videos. Good food, great service ……..for the price - prefer to be dining without cell phones going at next table - blasting video games etc guys dressed in Coney Island attire. This neighborhood has very upscale stores nearby. Sadly this restaurant no longer attracts diners with style.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent, Gourmet, Asian Cuisine
It’s expensive and worth the splurge. The service is on point and the food is amazing. The Peking duck will melt in your mouth. The dumplings will melt in your mouth…in fact, everything is melt in your mouth good. It has a full bar and an extensive wine list.
Be the first to ReplyVery good Asian meal
Delicious Asian meal with exceptional service. Our meal was delicious with a large menu of options. We had the satay, dumplings, crispy beef, beijing chicken, and brown rice. We would recommend them all with the exception of the crisp beef. It was very fried with little beef in each bite. The portions are large and meant to be shared. The only drawback is that the dining room can be cramped and loud so not the best for a quiet meal.
Be the first to ReplyPossibly our tastiest Chinese meal EVER
Having spent a few hours wandering around Central Park in the snow, we were looking for a decent Chinese restaurant to finish the day and (thanks to Google) found Philippes!
Yes, it IS an upmarket kind of place, but the food is awesome - which was a most pleasant surprise
The chicken in my chicken satay skewers was SO succulent. And our two mains were both awesomely tasty
We'd have no hesitation in recommending this place for a special occasion. Yes, it's expensive, but the ambience is great and the service matched expectations
10/10 Phiippe
Just excellent!
This place! Incredible Chinese food. Highly recommend the crispy duck and the filet with peapods. Truly lovely outdoor dining setup. And fabulous, good humored server, Dennis.
Be the first to ReplySafety and Service
We placed our order only to find out the portions were for "family sizes" (there were only two of us dining). Why didn't the server indicate the order was for two to three people. After being seated with plastic dividers for COVID safety, a couple was seated within four feet from our table. The dividers don't protect those sitting on a bench!!! Very uncomfortable.
Be the first to ReplyGood Am/Chinese food
Very fast service and very helpful staff. Portions come in big quantities so make sure you’re really hungry and one dish can fit 2. We’ve tried the fried rice with vegetables, the sweet and sour chicken, the fried shrimps with black pepper and salt, lettuce wrap with chicken. The food is heavy. The food is good and if you are looking for Am/Chinese pay it a visit
Be the first to ReplyVery good event
Nice meal comes with nice staff and good setting in the heart of Manhattan. It was good family gathering and the restaurant made it nicer
Be the first to ReplyGreat food but Horrendous social skills
Heartless Hostess was clueless. Despite great food, who wants to be treated badly on arrival? As a 73 yr old woman, meeting 3 friends for dinner I was told I couldn't be seated till all of us arrived. I was told to wait outside. The sidewalk was crowed with tables and waiters who constantly asked me to move out of the way. It was oppressively hot, and I didnt feel well, so I went back inside and sat on seating unit near reception. The hostess raised her voice and told me I could NOT sit there and I had to go outside. I told her my friends were 3 minutes away and I wasn't feeling well. She told me to MOVE and go sit by the bar if I 'needed' something to drink. To add insult to injury 1 of my friends was long seated at our empty table for 4 wondering where I was. Who hires these people, who trains them and how could my friend be seated and waiting and I was told I could be?? Has society totally broken down? Alas, she will too someday be old...

Be the first to ReplyAmazing Service
The food and service was beyond expectations. I came to NYC to visit family and have been very cautious during Covid. The staff at Phillips took every precaution and the tables are well spaced. The food was superb and I felt like the world was back. Gourmet food, attentive staff and lively atmosphere. Management clearly researched and executed on a plan to follow guidelines and create atmosphere. Will definitely come back!
Be the first to ReplyGood but expensive food with solid service in a cramped outdoor dining space
My daughter and I stumbled upon this place while walking around town. We are still in the midst of the COVID related challenges for restauarants and therefore my expectations are adjusted for that.
They have an appealing high end Asian menu, especially during Covid that combines Chinese and We ordered the Beijing Chicken and Sweet and Sour Chicken that did not come with any side dish and was $27 each, a side of Brocolli for $12 and a small pot of brown rice for $8.
The food was good and the wait staff was attentive and pleasant. The outdoor dining is a bit cramped. Our table for two was almost connected to another table for 2 seperated by a portable glass divider.
Overall it was a pleasant but bit over priced meal.
