We ate on the patio with a group of 8.
Nice vibes and friendly service. We were told there was only one chef working that night so we were definitely waiting a while between courses. Everything was pretty standard French fare, but the beet salad was spectacular. There was a little spicy kick which made it stand out among all the beet salads we've tried recently.

Order These 2 Dishes , Omelette Petit Trois & Filet Aux Poivres , Worth 5 Star Ratings (Best 2 Among Other Dishes Tried). Probably Best Omelette In L.A. Super Tender Filet Aux Poivres Tastes Sooo Goood !!! Thumbs Up !
Be the first to ReplyI fucking love this place.
Good croque monsieur, cute patio. An LA staple you should add to your list.
Be the first to ReplyFood was pretty good overall.
The service was great but the desserts were amazing. We ordered all of the desert in the menu and each dessert was delicious.

Amazing!!! Everything we had was delicious, service was amazing and it was fun to sit at the chef's counter to watch and chat with the chefs! Will definitely go back. Highly recommend the omelet and the French onion soup!

The food here is to die for! I also love that they don't use seed oils. It's a great, casual french spot for the whole family. Get the french onion soup, the omelette, or the steak frites and an apple crumble for dessert. The liver mousse is also my favorite! I would give this place 5 stars, but every time we've been here so far, they forget to bring out an item we've ordered or just straight up forgotten to ring something in. My husband doesn't exactly like his food coming out 15 minutes after mine and our sons. Its so yummy though, so we'll give you another chance, Petit Trois!
Be the first to ReplyI have not been here for a while and had a recent visit.
Our dinner was amazing. Enjoyed every single dish that we ordered. The staff were so professional and friendly. I would love to go back anytime! If you feel like having a great French feast with your loved ones, Petit Trois may be a wise choice! Don't forget to reserve your table ahead.

My mother and I had an excellent lunch here! We were seated quickly with a reservation, which I suggest making as they do fill up quickly. Services is outstanding, they are so friendly and welcoming, as well as extremely efficient. You may be lucky enough to see the chef himself at work, as we did.we have tried a variety of their menu items, one is better than the next! High-quality and gradients, perfectly executed and beautifully presented. This is ideal for a casual intimate lunch or dinner. Highly recommended!
Be the first to ReplyI've been here before but had to try it again.

Stunning food! Everything we ordered was overthetop! From the Bronzino to the Pistou pasta, to the Belgian endive salad, everything was incredible. The ambience is warm and friendly and the service, exceptiona!. You cannot go wrong here. It's a delectable treat.

Been here multiple times and the food is always good, but tonight, the hostess was incredibly rude. So rude that instead of putting our name in for a reservation, we just left. She left her hostess stand unattended for so long that there was a huge line of parties waiting & the other staff had to go track her down. When she came back, she didnt apologize for the delay, or even say hello. Instead, she just sat on her Ipad in silence until I said "...hi?", to which she rolled her eyes. Then sassed someone else in line who simply asked if they were in the right place. For this rude of behavior - I'd rather spend my money somewhere else.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, great service, great wine.
The omelette and the steak frites - two great recs on this wonderful cholesterol bomb of a menu.
Be the first to ReplyThe new crabcake was boooomb.
Service still great (even when they're shorthanded). The heritage chicken was fantastic. Love it all.

The food at the restaurant I visited was great, but the seating situation was a nightmare. They sat a man next to me who had no concept of personal space and was constantly invading mine. The discomfort and pain I experienced from sitting on those hard chairs outweighed the quality of the food, making it unlikely that I will return.
Be the first to ReplyNot good.
Typical European style restaurant/bar where everyone is touching and breathing on each other. Everything's expensive, but it's L.A. I don't drink, but a $20 cocktail from a jigger is inappropriate. The other reviewer's pictures are inaccurate from the experience. All of the food was way too salty/way too rich. Once seated, we weren't acknowledged for 20 minutes. Server finally arrived and took our order, then 3 more before entering them into the system. Look, I've been a server, but that is an excessive amount for timely service. When the food finally arrived, 1 hour later with no warning nor explanation, the medium rare filet I ordered took 3 minutes to chew one of the already sliced pieces. My boyfriend, 2 minutes, but he has a larger set of chompers. Still too much time for what should be a melt-in-your-mouth-filet for $40 with a side of fries. It was not 6 oz either, as advertized. When I brought it to Jake the server's attention, he had the audacity to tell me that I should have ordered it medium well-well done because it's a filet. "Filet's need extra time to cook." Ummm...what? The Béarnaise sauce was not your typical Béarnaise sauce. It was their take on it, which I appreciate the creativity, but the butter wasn't clarified, it was broken, it was alllll wrong and holy moly! Hello Tarragon. Yowza. I also brought this to Jake the server's attention and he looked at me like a deer in headlights and said this is how Béarnaise sauce is. Clearly not knowledgeable in the classic mother sauces and how other sauces are created from them. I assume the chef is a smoker and can't taste. Listen, I'm not a food snob at all, as I love all food and experiences, but I'm also a classically trained chef. I was very disappointed. This was not on par with expectations. My fault for having them, but eww. Just not good is all I'm going to say. There are so many amazing spots in L.A. for half the price, better service, and overall better food/ingredients. There's simply something off about this vibe. I hope they up the game because it's really hard to survive in such a competitive market. Make your own decision, but buyer beware. This place has been around for a long time so maybe they were having an off-night. I got this recommendation from Timeout LA as a foodie. I guess that's why we are also given the opportunity to review. My recommendation, try The Airliner instead. Great food. Great service. Reasonably priced. Most importantly, the servers know what they're talking about. Best wishes fellow foodies!! Xo
Be the first to ReplyThe food here is always the experience! Never disappointed.
We had a great front row seat at the counter and enjoyed the show and atmosphere of the food and drinks being prepared. Dylan provided fun and relaxing service that was greatly appreciated. Also the rice pudding was out of this world for dessert!

The steak from the steak frites was the chewiest steak I have ever eaten. It was super hard to eat and made my jaws and head hurt. But overall, the rest of the food was really well plated and was pretty yummy.
Be the first to ReplyAmbience and welcoming committee was terrible.
Had reservations for noon today arrived at 11:55 AM was told to stand outside in the cold rain until they opened in five minutes. The hostess brought us in after 12 noon, and proceeded to seat us by the door/exit where it's cold and drafty; we asked to be seated at another table , there were two available tables at the end of the row. She refused our Request. My guest and I decided to leave and we enjoyed another local restaurant. You guys lost my business due to a very poor welcome.
Be the first to ReplyGreat French food.
French onion soup starts things off right. Large round tables are great for a bigger group. Excellent
Be the first to ReplyGot the omelet , salad and French bread with butter.
Sat in the bar area. A bit crowded but great service and hostess. Enjoyed the French style food.
Be the first to ReplyHonestly the food is great- I can't take that from them.
So great in fact that I'd love to go back for the burger, steak tartare and carrot salad however that damn service charge is a hard pass.I'm a 20%+ tipper, however when you throw on a 18% Service Charge that's not a tip- you might as well be asking for 40%. That's crazy.
Be the first to ReplyThe French onion soup is just mind-blowingly fantastic.
The best I've ever had. The Big Mec burger was also so complex, layered and a one of a kind "eat with a fork" burger. The crabcake was ehhhh (it had a overwhelming flavor to it like -- imagine a more intense béarnaise sauce. Also had some shell in it). But the chocolate mouse was delicious. Really attentive and friendly/personable service. Inside it's a little tight quarters but still nice. Would definitely go again!

An 18% forced staff charge on the bill, which is NOT a gratuity (tip), explained as a staff wage fee, is absolutely not acceptable for a $37.00 hamburger. The reason that I pay $37.00 for a hamburger is so that you CAN pay your staff. Why not add a fee for your utilities and your rent too? I will NEVR go to this place again. In fact, as soon as I write this I will reverse the credit card charge.

I am a returning customer and Petit Trois has been one of my favorite places to dine. Had a party of 7 there on Sunday night. 4 key menu items were not available and a 5th item was not available on the desert menu (although it was a special card and not removed before given to customers. The waiter and manager explained it was Sunday night and that was the reason for the missing items. But, the French Onion Soup was tasteless, the Big Mac was swimming in what tasted like Worcestershire sauce at the bottom of the plate, the pasta was overdone and a simple martini was made incorrectly. The wait for food was 2-3 times longer then normal and although we were warned it would be a cold evening, we had to ask more then once for the outdoor heaters to be turned on. What a disappointment, cannot believe Chef Ludo would approve.

We just ate here today and had a great time sitting at the kitchen bar. Service, food, and ambience was super cool. I was totally going to recommend this great place to friends until we noticed the 18% service fee added to our bill. The waitress told us it was separate from the tip, and that she hoped this fee to the patrons would be gone in a few months. Well, we did our research and spoke with a friend who runs a bunch of SoCal restaurants who is 100% against this practice. We also learned that it is not a mandatory law for restaurant owners and is entirely used at the restaurants discretion, which seems predatory. ..??? And we also learned that is within our consumer rights to refuse it altogether. The service fees are 100% voluntary by the consumer yet we were not given the option to have this fee removed. Sorry, can't go back to there. Huge rip off. Food was great, but we left with a bad taste in our mouths.
