A nice spot in central London.
I went there on a Monday night for a quick business meeting and it was quiet enough to talk but still had an atmosphere. Food was acceptable. Service was very variable.
Be the first to ReplyHighly Recommend: Crispy Squid and Cucumber Cocktail.
I was recommended this by a local and it did not disappoint. Honestly, from the pictures online I couldn't tell the vibe of the restaurant and wanted someplace that was trendy, but with good food. Well this was it. All of the food that we had (Crispy Squid, Bread small plate, Chicken Sandwich, Broccoli) was amazing, but the Cucumber Cocktail was even better! This is definitely added to my list of London staples.

Meat over cooked and they refused to redo it. The restaurant closes at 11:30 and they wouldn't let us add to our order at 10:15. I'm not coming back.

My team had breakfast here during the week, and it was a very nice and beautiful restaurant for this purpose. The food was good, but the portions were a bit small, especially relative to cost. For example, the avocado toast was £9.50 but only one small slice of sourdough but into two pieces, with avocado and egg on top. The lattes were similar, more comparable to a flat white size than a true latte (for £3).The service was also a little awkward at times, even questioning two people's orders. For example, someone ordered the toast with a side of avocado, and she questioned "why don't you want the 'avocado toast?'" It felt a little condensending and put the person on the spot to say she couldn't have eggs or chili powder. These all led to feeling like it was a little bit of a mixed experience.

I recently dined at this restaurant on the advice of a friend. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The bistro-like setting was noisy enough to provide energy, but not so noisy as to inhibit conversation. There were three in our party, and we went "three for three" with our meals. My son had the pasta and thought it was absolutely terrific. My wife had the pork belly and we both agreed that it was absolutely delicious. Lastly I had a steak that was cooked perfectly. If you are looking for a nice night out, excellent food at reasonable (though not cheap) prices, this restaurant should be at the top of your list.

Central London is often cramped and busy with crowds constantly in-your-face, but this venue, rumored to have been converted from an old hospital, is super spacious, beautifully decorated, and operates with a lot of class, a dash of hipster-ness, and very little ego. Staff are super accommodating and friendly. They check in periodically without swooping in consistently or leaving you unattended. You wouldn't think a fancy place like this would be a great place to pull out your laptop and work, but they have full coffee bar offerings and outlets along the window seating in their main dining hall. There are people having business meetings, and generally just sitting there for hours working. Skip the elbow-to-elbow stuffy seating of the other Soho co-working cafe spaces, and head here for table seating and moderately quiet atmosphere with jazzy tunes streaming overhead. They also have a great area opposite of the dining hall for happy hour where you can grab a drink and sit casually without feeling like you're standing in wall-to-wall people, having to shout your conversations like other venues in London. Food is phenomenal, and all beautifully plated. Even something as simple as a side of vegetables comes out in a cast iron dish on a cork plate. A little pricier than your standard restaurant, and everything is mostly a la carte, but you definitely get a lot out of the overall dining experience. There's classy decor with trendy things like typewriters and art work on the wall. You feel as if you're stepping back in time into a classic nightclub restaurant and bar with a modern menu. Other location perks? A hop skip away from other cool restaurants, a tube station, and also, my fav, the Detox Kitchen in Fitzroy.

Lovely spot but found the staff to be quite rude and useless. We spoke with the maitre d about getting a table who was quickly to respond that it was only for people having a meal. We advised that having a meal was the reason we were here she responded those tables are booked, we asked about another group of tables and we no they were also booked for a group at 9pm (it was 630pm). She advised there might be an option at the bar, when I pointed out a unoccupied large table she said of yeah I guess you can sit there. Overall not impressed with her attitude so after being seated we made a decision to leave and go to black and blue for a burger.
Be the first to ReplyTwo words: bottomless bubbles at brunch.
Wait, there's four words...but the 'brunch' part is really crucial to me. Because the ability to drink a LOT of prosecco without being in an airport before 11.30am is basically a great day. And the surroundings of Percy & Founders certainly doesn't hurt. This place is pretty cool and fancy, and certainly not cheap; but it avoids the pretentious vibe via friendly and nice service and a good atmosphere. The food was good and the aforementioned prosecco decent. Not a place I'd necessarily drop in for a drink but a lovely place for a slightly fancier outing.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a spectacularly beautiful place.
..located in Fitzrovia about a 2 minute walk off of Oxford Street I had the pleasure of having brunch this morning. Although I had to wait till noon for the Sunday roast...no problem had an extra coffee. I ordered the beef sirloin very rare...wow did they deliver. It was cooked perfectly...I was amazed. The cut of beef was delusions and it came with veggies and potatoes in a crock and was served with gravy and horseradish and some kind of puff pastry...can't remember the name but I guess that was what the gravy was for. My date had the vanilla French toast and it looked absolutely amazing and she said it tasted even better. Is in a real quiet spot so if you're looking to get off Oxford Street this would be the place!

Came in on a Sunday evening without a reservation (Valentines), for a friends birthday dinner. We didnt expect to find a table easily with such a large group, but it wasnt a problem - luckily! We all ordered starters, mains and desserts! The smoked trout and venison being my absolute favorite. The meat was perfectly done. What was outstanding was the service. Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive! We will definitely come back.
