Awful- except for the atmosphere,
The food in the bar was truly awful . The soup was very watered down, the Cesar salad was chopped and not good@ all, the pizza was extremely charred and the prices were outlandish. They were truly ridiculous. We live in Laguna and used to go to the pelican grill before they changed the menu— we will never return.
Be the first to ReplyStill a Newport Classic
All of the new menu items are big hits. Loved the pizzas, lobster roll, the Parker rolls, the pretzels and their classic cod dish has always been a winner. Great wine selection & service - Robert & Montserrat were stars. A fantastic lunch at an old favorite returned.
Be the first to ReplyA nice friendly restaurant with good food but stick with beer.
The grill is located in the golf course clubhouse of the Pelican Hill golf course. Dinner was well served by an attentive waiter. The food was delicious but pricey for what we got -- salads, oysters (36$ for 6) pizza and a steak. The wine list is exorbitantly priced -- one cab under 80$.
Be the first to ReplyWorst Experience I Ever Had At A Restaurant, And Harassment Because Of The Color Of My Skin and A Women Of Color
This Is the most Prejudice Restaurant I've ever eaten at in The World. If you are not from the area and want to try this Restaurant and watch a Football game and you love Football, do not go here. And are a person of Color do not eat at this Restaurant, They let the Local's run there Restaurant. And if you are not from the Area and are of Color or Even Native American they do not respect us, and a Women of Color I have never been kicked out of a Restaurant In My Life and I Am From California And I Went To Watch Sunday Football and They Kicked Me Out Because The Local's Said I Was Too Loud, Who Isn't Loud When They Watch Football If You Are A True Fan. That same day they had a private party upstairs in the bar and I heard them as soon as I walked into the restaurant on the bottom floor, Screaming and Cheering At The Football Game they were watching. But Of Course They Were Not Of Color. I Recommend You Never Support This Restaurant Again... Please If You Or A Women Of Color Or Men Or Native American Asian Chinese Japanese or Any Women Head My Warning And Gentlemen, And All My Friend's Who Love Football Please Band This Restaurant. Be the first to ReplyExcellent dining experience
Excellent dining experience. We went to dinner early to take advantage of the outstanding view of the ocean. Michael, our server, was attentive without being intrusive. We started our meal sharing fresh oysters which were incredibly fresh, briny and delicious. We shared a Margarita Pizza that was outstanding. We each a salad that was a low point but quickly moved to the sea bass, also fresh, prepared simply and well. Moist and well seasoned. Such a nice dinner with friends in a lovely spot.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, zero ambience, expensive
The 3 rating is based on our dining s Petrie ce and not the quality of the food which was first class. No ambience whatsoever - for s high price dining experience one would have expected a pianist/vocalist - we were outside as inside resembled a high end sports bar with huge tv screens dominating the restaurant- not what we like for an evening meal! So, whilst the food was excellent (I would recommend the short rib), our dining experience was far from memorable, apart from the £190 for two main courses & bottle of wine! A small point but worth mentioning us that our waiter was just too attentive - he must have interrupted us half of a dozen times during our meal which was s off putting. He gave the impression of wanting to sell more product or fish for a greater tip - this isn't good service, almost the opposite. Ammusingly he actually got wrong the important but by bringing us glasses wine instead of the bottle that we ordered !! So, we wouldn't return or recommend for the above reasons.
Be the first to ReplyGreat service - will revisit
The wait staff was great. However, the service was a little slow on a bit so busy night. I would certainly go back as I was beyond tired of the resort food.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful lunch with a view
Amazing lunch with a view Anthony our waiter was paying attention to details The patio is super nice, the tables are well spaced, the flowers hanging are such a nice touch. Had the lobster roll, meatballs, pizza Glass of rosé to top it off The parking lot can be intimidating with all the Bentleys and Lamborghinis Bill came out under 200$ It was worth it for sure
Be the first to ReplyContemplating "The Lorian" at the Pelican Grill
Wonderful breezes on the patio at this limited capacity dining venue. Being here imparts a centered spirit. Post chats with gracious Maddie and Derick Domeracki, we spotted two mystery ships anchored off of Little Corona Beach in Corona Del Mar. "Let food be thy medicine." ---Hippocrates Though food may be prepared at home or a restaurant, it's the care of the Chef that imparts eudaemonia to the soul (and subsequently health). Many enjoy being treated or treating someone to an experience at The Resort At Pelican Hill. Saving to dine/visit here was worth the wait. Later, the dining party learned the names of the ships are "Hodor" and "The Lorian." Google them. Maskless dining and environment encourages conservative conversation.

Amazing meal from start to finish. Service was very slow but food was worth the wait. Beautiful location overlooking the Pacific.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing service
Took a friend for her Birthday lunch. Things started out well. The receptionist was friendly and seated us at a very nice table. We were served water. Then nothing. We sat for over 20 minutes waiting for a server. Had to finally ask the receptionist to find one! A manager came and took our drink order and, eventually, the waiter came! He was aware of the Birthday event, yet, asked if we wanted dessert. When our dessert order came, so did a complimentary B'day dessert! We would not have ordered a dessert if this had come first! When he finally brought the check, he placed the check in front of the Birthday girl! 2-1/2 hours later we were finally finished!

Exceptional location that is very upscale overlooking the California coast. Pricey but good food, and upscale service.
