Passports Eatery and Wine Bar Gloucester Reviews from The Last Year
One of my favorite restaurants.
But it seems to be temporarily closed for remodeling as of January, 2024, according to a sign on the door.
Highly Recommend eating here.
Owner manager greeter very nice and kind who has a sense of humor. Food?? Delicious! I try something different every time I go but my husband likes the tuna stir fry every time. Love love the popovers
Great food in Gloucester! I love their fish tacos.

This place is an absolute gem! The service is great, the servers are casual and friendly... and the food is really thoughtful and worth a detour! Best caesar salad I have ever had. Go check this place out.
Food is always amazing.
They have the best popovers that they serve hot and fresh to every table when you come in. The service is always top notch and atmosphere is great for date night or dinner with the family. We have consistently had excellent meals with original options, as well as some regular choices, well executed. Highly recommend.

Always great food, a welcoming atmosphere and prompt, courteous service. This is our "go to" when we are in Gloucester.
Great little restaurant, good food, excellent service
Passports is a small restaurant in the heart of Gloucester's old downtown area. Parking is difficult, but eating here was worth it. I had the Sister's Haddock and my husband had the Roquefort Chicken. Both choices were good, and the prices for all of their dishes were extremely reasonable for this area. The restaurant was bustling, but service was quick and friendly. Wish we had had time to eat here again.
The food quality was excellent across all 7 diners.
My Fish & Chips featured beautiful, flakey white haddock. Drinks also excellent with many beers on tap, and a lovely sangria. Nice atmosphere, not too loud, and excellent service. 5 stars!
Five of us had an amazing dinner here on a busy Sunday
Five of us had an amazing dinner here on a busy Sunday evening. The service was friendly and fast. We sat in the side seating area which was a little loud but the food and drink made up for that. So many choices here and the portions are generous. Started with the Portuguese Mussels which was in a tomato based broth with onions and spicy kielbasa. Cook perfectly! Delicious garlic bread helped us get every last bite of the broth at the end. Ordered the Southwest Linguini which had a creamy chipotle sauce and I added shrimp and asked for just enough spice to make my mouth warm. The menu stated it was "back by popular demand" and I could taste why. I added a little black pepper and salt - I'd rather add it than it be salty. So many shrimp!!! I had to take some of it home because it was so filling. Three of my table mates ordered the stir fry with either shrimp or salmon. They were all pleased and also got to-go boxes. Another friend ordered the Thai Red Curry with the mixed seafood. I took a few bites and it was to die for! Oh and the wine options were good. We ordered a bottle of the Malbec-Syrah that was available as a special. It was also delicious. Highly recommend!!!
Great food
Great place for great food! Salmon dinner and rolls were incredible! We would definitely come back again!
Great spot!
Delicious, ecletic menu and utterly charming atmosphere. Warm popovers brought to the table upon seating are an incredible touch. We received a great wine recommendation that paired perfectly with our dishes. The haddock was a standout dish, but it was all great!
Passports Needs To Update Their Closing Time And Train Staff To Be Polite - Will NOT Be Returning
We were excited to eat at Passports on our first night in Gloucester and arrived at 8:15pm on a Tuesday night after just getting into town. The website and Google said they close at 9. When we walked in, hungry after a travel day and excited to eat after reading reviews, the hostess was very rude in telling us that they weren't going to seat us because it was too close to closing time. It would have been one thing if she told us nicely, but she seemed to go out of her way to be unkind. Passports should update their closing times on their website and Google if they stop seating 45 min before they close. We will not be returning because of the rude staff.

Great food! Great staff! I highly recommend wild mushroom torte. Mussels were perfect!
Awesome experience!
I went with two of my sisters after seeing an exhibit at the CAM. A short walk to a delightful evening! Excellent service, beyond delicious food and a relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend the “sisters haddock “ as many reviewers have also… so fresh & a delight to the taste buds! My sisters had the grilled salmon & fish and chips. Everyone was happy with their meal. My favorite Chardonnay was only 11$ per glass! You can’t go wrong here. No room for dessert but we did enjoy the popover which arrived at our table as we were seated. I wish I remembered our waitress’s name, as she was terrific. Can’t wait to return. Cynthia
Yum!
Popovers we’re such a nice treat and unexpected. Small restaurant but big on service and excellent food. We had a shrimp and pasta dish, burger and a steak and it was delicious! Will go again next time I’m in Gloucester! Highly recommend
Delicious Main Street dinner venue!
We were in the area for whale watching and looked up local restaurants for dinner and found this gem! 5 if us walked in for dinner. Every single one of us loved our choice. Lobster ragoons were a shared app. Our dishes were mainly from the special menu for the day aside from the paella (great also!). We had steak filet tips, tuna lo mein, and cod picatta. All were so delicious. Staff was so friendly. Environment was adorable. The greeter was so adorable and tan my earrings out to me when I left them on the table as we were leaving. We also learned the owner was our chef that evening. I would definitely visit again and highly recommend!
Far, far beyond expectations
Don’t let the down-to-earth appearance this you off. The food is exceptional, varied and all delicious. Great service and, oh yeah, popovers!
Lovely spot for great food!
I had a lovely time at passports restaurant and would highly recommend it as a spot to eat while in Gloucester. I made a reservation for 7 people and we were promptly seated. The staff were very welcoming and helpful when explaining the menu to us. The food was amazing; everything tasted great , was super fresh, and well portioned. The menu has a wide variety of dishes, including seasonal specials. Such a nice find!!!
Delicious food and great atmosphere for couples, groups or families.
Fabulous swanky restaurant with excellent food, especially the freshly baked popovers. Excellent selections, specials; beer and wine. Christopher was an awesome host. Service excellent.

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
