Fantastic meal.
Service was a little slow. We kept her on our sched. Not the other way around, our waitress fell into the common trap of us talking and letting usbe in control of ordering for far too long. By the time we even ordered, we were famished. She could have turned another table.

Thanks to the rude hostess we spoke to when confirming reservation - we cancelled went to Hippo and 1000000% happier. This place is old and stodgy.

This was my first time here and was very pleased with the service, food, and drinks!I would definitely recommend this place!

"The shrimp corn dog was amazing. The whole fried catfish was the most amazing entree I've had in forever. My wife's duck was amazingly cooked and perfect flavor and my friend's filet was the best he has had in Pasadena. The place is beautiful and Amanda's service was beyond a 10. 6/5 stars. Come here if you want a quality dinner.
Be the first to ReplyFood was great and ambience was even better.
We had the specials which were all outstanding! We were a bit put off that the bread basket was $8, but I guess that is standard in the industry now! We will def go back though. Special occasions only for us.
Be the first to ReplyAmbiance, salad and wine were good.
Petite Filet dry, flavorless and over cooked. Very disappointed and we will not be back, there are much better places in Pasadena.

Parkway Grill is top notch, sophisticated, elegant, excellent service, exceptional food and wines... a very special place for me to take friends & family on special occasions. The first time I booked there it was because it was a last minute thing on a holiday, and I thought "Parkway??... Grill???" I don't want kabobs! But I was blown away. Great place! It feels like a secret.

We've been fans of Smith Brothers restaurants for years beginning with the Crocodile Cafe. Always impeccable service, great food, great vibe, and great time no matter the location! Recently, have spent more time at Smitty's and Arroyo Chop House. But went to PG last night and what an incredible night it was. Same 5-star experience as usual. Ate in the bar area and had a wonderful time. So much fun catching up with Roberto, Denise, Eric, Jose (who served us very well), and, of course, Naz behind the bar. Thank you PG and thank you Smith Brothers for years of great memories and in advance for the ones still to come! See you all soon...
Be the first to ReplyHands down my favorite steakhouse.
This place is so elegant and classy. I made reservations ahead of time to sit inside which I recommend because the decor is so warm, I loved that the lights were dim and mostly candles. Food was 10/10. I order the 1/2 Mary's chicken which was amazing and my boyfriend order the NY steak which he loved and I normally don't eat too much red meat but I will say this was really good, next time I'll order it. We also ordered a small bread basket which wasn't bad but wasn't anything amazing, I'd try something different next time. Next up was the lobster risotto which was really good and then the broccoli, broccoli was full of flavor, I loved both. We ended the night with a dessert and since we were celebrating the chef sent it out for free which I thought was very nice and made my boyfriend feel special, they also gave him a hand written note congratulating him. The dessert was a special that night, it was a key lime pie with fruit toppings and a side of raspberry sauce, very good and sour. We decided to bring our own bottle of wine that we loved, cork fee was only $35. The staff was extremely kind and attentive. Valet parking only but we found parking up the street. We will be back again soon for sure!

From service to food. Everything was exceptional. The ambiance was nice. Pricy but worth every penny. Will definitely be back. Can't wait to visit again.
Be the first to ReplyFood 8/10.
Service 8/10. Food a bit on the pricey side. The only thing I really dislike was that we arrived there before the valet parking staff and parked our cars our selves. Don't mind parking my car but do mind the valet parking staff chasing me and forcing me to pay the valet fee when they didn't even park my car. The guys was super rude and disrespectful plus wouldn't move until I paid him the fee. We spent $2000.00 on a diner for a party of 11. Being harassed by a valet parking employee not classy at all.
Be the first to ReplyGreat service and friendly staff.
I really enjoyed dining in and definitely recommend it.

The Parkway Grill, provides a beautiful atmosphere with excellent service and very good food, Although it has gotten a bit pricier, like everything else.We usually would have a very nice dinner for about $180 to $220. but our bill last time out was closer to $300.00, We split the Lettuce Wedge (Excellent) and ordred the classic Cat Fish (Also Excellent) and the scalloped potatoes also great, the only dissapointment was the New York steak which did not look grilled, more like braised, a bit rubbery and not at all worth the $64.00Other than that the meat was very good, I just would never ordet the steak again, and The Catfish was huge and could eaily have been shared.
Be the first to ReplyParkway Grill has been a staple in Pasadena since 1984.
I dinned here many years ago and finally got the opportunity to return. We came here for a birthday celebration on a Monday night. It was fairly empty when we arrived but by the time we left the place had filled up. Our server Juan was delightful and attentive. We ordered cocktails. I had my usual - a Grey Goose Martini, dry, up, with Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives. The hand stuffed blue cheese olives were amazing! The blue cheese was so creamy. This martini was one of the best I've had. (I also recommend the French 85, which was also delicious.) We started with the breadbasket. There were four of us and the small size was plenty. It contained cornbread madeleines, cranberry nut bread, flat crackers, & sourdough. All made in house and each one was yummy! The butter that accompanied it was sprinkled with sea salt. We also shared the Ahi Tuna Tartar. The Ahi was fresh, the chopped avocado was buttery, and the sauce had a nice flavor. Our entrées consisted of: The fish of the day (I think it was Sea Bass), Ragù alla Bolognese, U.S.D.A. Prime Filet Mignon with a side of Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes, and the Bibb Lettuce Salad. They grow their own organic vegetables and herbs in a garden behind the restaurant. I could taste the quality in my salad. The Di Steffano Burrata Cheese that came with it was so soft and creamy. My friends were all very happy with their dinner selections. Everything was fresh and flavorful, including the pasta, which is made in house. The presentation of the Filet was a little sad compared to the other plates. For dessert we shared the Meyer Lemon Custard (topped with a shortbread cookie with house made ice cream and fresh raspberry sauce) and the Chocolate Lava Cake with berries and house made ice cream. Both were fantastic! The food was delicious, and the service was great. The stained glass skylights and the beautiful bar from the 1920s added to the appeal of the ambience. What made the night even more special was the lovely handwritten, personalized birthday note for the birthday boy. Very classy. Tip: Valet Parking $7
Be the first to ReplyAt my suggestion, a friend and I went to The Parkway Grill
At my suggestion, a friend and I went to The Parkway Grill for my birthday, as she lives within walking distance, and I had fond memories of prior meals there. It was somewhat disappointing for us both, at least based on expectations. I compare restaurants like this to my memories of the now-closed L'Orangerie on La Cienega and The Parkway Grill failed miserably from both a food and service perspective. I am a vegan, so my choices were limited to an off-menu vegetable plate and a pasta dish - I chose the pasta dish. It was okay, nothing special, considering the price. I indicated to the server that I was vegan and the dish still appeared to have been made with butter. The salad was just okay as well - bibb lettuce, cucumber, a little v & o. Again, nothing special considering the price and reputation of The Parkway Grill. For dessert, my friend and I shared the chocolate lava cake, which was also a little ho-hum. I guess that my expectations for chocolate lava cake are colored by Jon Favreau's movie "Chef". I expect the cake to be hot and have a molten ganache center. The dessert we were served was cold and had a little bit of undercooked cake batter at the center. Overall, a disappointing experience for my friend and I!
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful decor.
Service was impeccable. And the food was wonderful. A most enjoyable evening.
Be the first to ReplyJust go, you won't be disappointed.
Great service and great food! We had the sea bass and the 40 day dry aged NY steak. Both were incredible and so was the salad.
Be the first to ReplyFood is heavenly.
Service is very good. Love the ambiance of the restaurant too. Plus its sister restaurant is Arroyo Chop House next door so they allow you to order off both menus if you really wanted to. Best of both worlds.
Be the first to ReplyWe had an excellent meal here during a visit to Pasadena.

So sad that the service and quality of food has deteriorated so much! Yet prices have double! Just don't even have the words to say how terrible our meal was. Will not be returning.
Be the first to ReplyFood is excellent.
Atmosphere is superb. All staff were very tentative.
