PAI Toronto Reviews from The Last Year
Our office loves the food here, however we had a terrible
Our office loves the food here, however we had a terrible time ordering from this restaurant for our firm lunch yesterday. They don't answer the phones when they open at 11:30 - we tried 4-5 times before giving up and placing an order on uber. Then they cancelled our order because they couldn't do any of the appetizers we had ordered (and we weren't notified). By this time it was 12:15pm so I called again and finally got through and they told me to place it on uber again but that it wouldn't be ready for an hour. I asked if they could rush it as we had originally placed the order 30 minutes before, and thought it would be ready by 12:30pm. They said it could probably be ready in about 30 minutes. I placed the order again on uber with the items adjusted and uber estimated ready at 1pm. I went to the restaurant at 12:45pm as the woman on the phone said she'd try to have it ready by then. The order was ready - all except 2 items. These 2 items took a further 30 MINUTES to make as the rest of our food went cold (after 1pm as well). I asked the staff member there what was taking so long and he said that the kitchen was prioritizing seated guests over our order.... I think that was incredibly rude to say, especially as our original order was placed over an hour before then and I had been sitting waiting patiently for 15 minutes. I could also see other take out orders behind ours in the line being completed first. As I said, we love the food at this restaurant, but not when the service is like this and the food is left to go cold...
I found myself unexpectedly alone for 8 hours in Toronto.
Thai food sounded great and the reviews on Yelp were good, so I decided to try Pai Northern Thai Kitchen. It was packed, but since I was solo, I was able to be seated quickly. It was delicious! Service was wonderful! I absolutely loved the whole experience. The staff and ambiance were welcoming and fun.
In Toronto for a couple of days and showed up Friday at 6pm
In Toronto for a couple of days and showed up Friday at 6pm with no reservation (four of us). The place was hopping busy! Offered a "community" table and we said absolutely! 20 minutes later we were in! I thought $14.00 for three spring rolls was a bit much but we ordered them anyway. They are about THREE times the size of a normal fried spring roll! My teens split the kow pod (fried rice) and loved it. I got the Pad ka Prow chicken and it was delicious. Been eating Thai food for 40 years and always order this dish. Hands down Top 5 ever. Flavor was superb, portion was great, and I ordered Thai spicy and it didn't disappoint. My wife got the Beef Yum Nuah. She wound have preferred more like juice and fish sauce but it was solid. This place has it going on! Very cool atmosphere as well!

Loved everything about it! I love northern Thai food, and this place delivered. The service is nice and efficient. The space feels fun and trendy, and I love all the decor from Thailand. The food is really really good. I ordered the khao soi with chicken and it was super tasty. It came with noodles and I also ordered rice to sop up the leftover curry. Glad I got to try it and recommend!
So good! Dishes were generous and flavorful.
What completed the meal were the drinks that combine Thai flavors into a sweet drink. The skewers are solid, reminds me of food home bbq food in my family! Other two dishes had distinct flavors of spicy, sweet, and savory. The space is large and we were able to get a table without a reservation. Would come back again if I'm in the area!
Arguably one of the best Thai food places you can find in
Arguably one of the best Thai food places you can find in Toronto. PAI has been a go to for me and my friends. It's the place I take people to when they're visiting Toronto. The garbong is a must and you can't go wrong with ordering the khao soi. I am also a sucker for any of their noodle dishes that use rice noodles. Everything is so flavourful but not overly salty. The restaurant is down a few stairs and it decorated in a way that makes you feel like you're sitting in the streets of Thailand having a meal. There is always a line but they have a pretty good system and you get seated pretty promptly. Mind you I still recommend getting reservations or coming right when they opened or on weekdays.
In the words of Gen Z, Pai is MID.
Pai is on almost every list for Toronto and on the Michelin guide, and there is always a line to get in here. I went on a Friday night during Canada weekend and we got lucky and after getting in line just to get on the waitlist, after waiting 20-30 min, we were seated right away. I am super happy that northern Thai food is getting recognized but I was not impressed with the food. The atmosphere is great - it's vibrant and loud and they have a full cocktail bar. I got a vodka Thai tea cocktail and it was fine. The waiter was really lovely and had recommendations, since it was so busy we ordered everything and asked for things to come as they were ready (my sister who I was with is also very impatient at restaurants so it was better for us). We ordered: the mago slaw (seasonal) and also a note here, some of the starters are not available until after 4 pm; miang kung - which is a make yourself wrap, paid thai and PAD GRA PROW, a rice dish with an egg on top. I haven't had a decent pad thai in YEARS and this was fine, better than what I've had available, we did ask for a side of hot sauce and cilantro. The pad gra prow, was nice, it builds flavor slowly so we thought we didn't like it at first. We did over order, but we were eager to try a lot of the items. Overall, if you've had good thai food, you will be disappointed in how hyped this place is - especially since you have to wait in line just to get to the waitlist and they don't answer the phone, I do think there's a email you can write to. The miang kung is fun, and not readily seen a lot of place in the US.
Really nice and sweet place with cute decors and colourful
Really nice and sweet place with cute decors and colourful food. Wait time might be long during busy hours.
Great vibes here.
They play lots of modern rap music and it helps create a very refreshingly young environment. This place is packed too. There is not much seating and my mother and I had to wait as we were walk ins. Not sure if they accept reservations. But I do know they are card only, no cash. I was pleasantly surprised to walk in and see the Michelin star rating posted at the front. I knew this had to be good. We had a few dishes, everything was HUGE portions, but as a NYer, I was disappointed and did not find the food particularly special. Ive had better from a hole-in-the-wall in a back alley. I thought my pad see ew was over salted and the flavors just did not vary much from the pad Thai. I expected more. Also did not feel like the waiter was overly that great. He plopped down plates and I tried to get his attention a few times but was ignored. It was very busy so maybe he was over stimulated by it.
The Khan Soi was so good! Very flavorful! Perfect to go
The Khan Soi was so good! Very flavorful! Perfect to go with shrimp. The server was so nice and accommodating! I asked if I can get any sort of veggies, he helped to serve a side veggie even it was not on the menu. Very impressed by this restaurant overall experience!
Delicious
Delicious. Great flavors. Best mango salad I’ve ever had. Beautiful presentation of food. Such a great ambiance in the restaurant. Always line ups. Now I understand why! Service was attentive. Definitely coming back!
Great Thai, stellar service, cool atmosphere!
My family ate at this restaurant after a long day of outdoors activities. We were very hungry and were hoping for unique experience with good portion sizes lol! All in all, we thought this was the single best dining establishment we visited in Toronto. The staff was very friendly, the atmosphere inside the restaurant was super cool, and most of all the food quality was very, very good.
Fun place with delicious food
We loved our meal at Pai Northern. It was super delicious. We also had great service. We highly recommend this place. Really really yummy and a fun atmosphere.
Delicious Thai food
Stopped by for an early dinner and beat the dinner rush. The service was quick & friendly. The garlic shrimp & ginger beer was a great start to the meal. Both were delicious and the dip for the shrimp was extra tasty. First time trying the Khao Soi with braised beef and was not disappointed. The pickled vegetables and spicy sauce perfected the dish! Ended up taking the mango with sticky rice. Great meal and would highly recommend!!
Five out of Five
Do not order anything but the Pad Gra Prow (Holy Basil Stir Fry) I order this Uber Eats at least 2 a week My favourite on Uber Eats
Amazing food and atmosphere
WOW! What an amazing atmosphere and delicious food! Highly recommend if your in the city. I went with a friend and we split 2 mains so we could try more off the menu!
My oh my, PAI was fantastic and authentic Thai!
I stopped by PAI for lunch before heading to the CN Tower for a tour. As soon as I walked down the stairs to enter, I could tell this place had a special feel. The walls were covered with memorabilia in a way that really enhanced the vibe and reminded me of a local place where I live. I was seated right away and served my cold drink very quickly. I ordered a Spicy Shrimp Pad Thai and the portion was huge! The lime added freshness and the peanuts added a great crunchy element. Normally I get 2-4 shrimp back home when I order Thai, but I got 6 big shrimp which really enhanced the meal. I was able to relax and enjoy my meal without feeling rushed. Thank you PAI for a 5 star Thai lunch experience!
Extremely Average Thai Food!
I have been to Pai, in the downtown and uptown locations multiple times now. I honestly have never understood why so many folks in Toronto think this place serves the best Thai food in town. My guess would be that those who do, haven’t experienced authentic Thai food before. Pai has ALWAYS dished out extremely average food each time I have dined there. The food is not bad but it is average Thai food that’s extremely and tailored for a blander Caucasian palette.

Lively place to hang out!
The restaurant is lively. The food is good but the cocktails and we love the beef noodle dish. The cocktails are good but honestly the size is too small for the price. The staff are friendly and helpful. Not a bad place to hang out on a Friday night!
Amazing place.
To be honest my first visit wasn't that great, but every other time it has been the best. Definitely the Thai place I would take my family or friends to if they ever visit Toronto.

Been coming here for a a while and it's always been really good but a word of warning it's spicy and very good. I have done takeout mainly, as I like to sit beside my date, rather than across the table from them. Have sat up at the bar and had a margarita and the bartender was very good.
We heard this is the best in Toronto.
We had a great time. The food was very authentic and is also a very hip place.
Came on a Sunday around 5pm and were seated immediately.
Visiting from California so we ordered a ton of dishes to try, such as the mango slaw, moo ping, pad thai, khao soi, and the pad gra pow. Everything was excellent!! So flavorful and nothing was overcooked :) We also got several drinks because they were so well priced (but that could be because everything is just ridiculously priced in Cali). Overall, the vibe in here was so fun and lively and will definitely recommend this spot to anyone, even locals!
Definitely come here for great food, drinks, and a great
Definitely come here for great food, drinks, and a great social atmosphere. Prepare for 15-20 minute wait because it is very popular but the staff is super friendly and attentive. The ambiance is comfortable, fun photos, and sayings to keep you occupied during the wait or entertained because there's something to catch your attention on every turn. My friend and I enjoyed all the flavors our appetizers had to offer. Thank you for an enjoyable experience in Toronto!
This place is definitely packed 24/7 and super duper
This place is definitely packed 24/7 and super duper loud! Came here before 5pm and was told there's already a 20 mins wait. However, got a text message in less than 10 mins so it wasn't too bad. The seats/tables were small and I had multiple bags with me so it made it extra difficult to sit. People also kept walking behind me and knocking off my belongings. I wish I had the a seat against the wall but oh wells... Ordered few things to try. The pork skewer was the bomb! The chicken curry was good but the bamboo rice wasn't enough to finish the whole curry dish. We ended up ordering another rice to go with it. The tom yum soup was tasty. The pad thai with beef was chewy. The beef was super overcooked and it tasted like liver? The thai tea was super cold and sweet. Don't think I'll come back to this location, but perhaps the one in midtown. We were super thirsty after dinner...
Your go to restaurant for Thai food in the 6
Great food and atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Best Thai dish I have ever had. Highly recommend for everyone. Run don't walk
Very tasty Thai food.
Visiting from QC and had to try, because it was recomended. I had beef noodle soup. I enjoyed very much my meal! If I am back in the area, I would love to try this place again.

Went on a Wednesday night, Had to wait a few minutes for a table. Waited at the bar, and ordered some drinks. Bartender Zavier was friendly and attentive. We were sat down shortly after. Our waitress was a sweetheart. She was patient and went over the menu with us. She gave us great recommendations. Even though the place was lively and packed it felt intimate. This restaurant has such a great vibe, such a unique atmosphere. I felt like we stepped into another dimension. Nothing like the cold night it was in the city. Honestly we had a great time from the moment we stepped in till we walked out. The staff is welcoming. The food is delicious and full of flavor. We ordered the Pad Gra Prow. The egg was fried perfectly. The spice was Worth it. We loved our time here. This checks off all the boxes for a great time. From date night to drinks with friends to a cozy night out. Would recommend to everyone !
This place exceeded my expectations.
By far the best, freshest, Thai food I have had in my life. Service was amazing. Drinks were killer. The food had my mouth watering the whole time. I was excited for the next dish to come out. Ambiance is fun and trendy. We ordered the pad Thai, the pad see ew noodles, spring rolls and the moo-ping. Everything was full of flavor, piping hot, and mouth watering. Cocktails were amazing as well - my favorite being the Thai mojito. They have reservations available for you to make but I love that they cut back their reservation amount to accommodate more walk in guests. They really know what they are doing. Just a lovely experience.
Nice food but a fast turn around.
Nice restaurant with tasty food, though it’s a place to eat and go. Not somewhere to relax for a couple of hours. Ordered starters and mains, all came out at the same time. Kind of confusing considering a starter is meant to kick start the appetite. Food though was tasty, good selection (food and drink) but the overall experience was rushed. When we left people were queuing down the road so you can see why there’s a fast turnaround but then that subtracts from the overall experience. Financial intake over a true end to end experience.
okay, but overrated
I was hesitating between the qualification "poor" and average.I ate here solo February 23th. It was crowded, I was put aside to the far corner of the restaurant. Not cozy at all , because the view I had was a wall. The atmosphere of the restaurant seemed good although I could not enjoy it, considering the place where I was put. i ordered a glass of wine, a starter and main course and sparkling water. The appetizer (pork satay) was barely there when the main course-the pad thai-was already there. I had that sent back because the starter was just there . The pad thai came back after all. Warm wasn't it , and the noodles stuck to hard together and tasted slightly burnt. it also seemed to have just been thrown on the plate. there was no inspiration or soul in it at all. I have certainly eaten much better pad thai. Out at 40 minutes and $90 lighter. Overrated as far as I'm concerned.... downfall by its own success. It would be better not to receive such a large crowd at the expense of quality, but to keep it more limited and to treat the customers who are there with value.
Food we got not hot, service slow, but meals ordered tasty.
A very busy place, and a very long lineup. Fairly long wait to get a table. Service slow for us but others before us got served faster, with food coming earlier than us. Had to tell the server twice to remind !!! Ordered Pad See w Chicken and TY soup. Soup not that hot, main dish not warm at all. Must have been standing at the kitchen table for a long time, to be served. For this I will give poor review. The food was tasty and enjoyed. The price is moderate, servings enough. May try again in future to try other dishes, but will book on line first!
Loud With Good Food
I was in Toronto attending the annual TIFF film festival, and dined at this restaurant on my birthday. I wanted a nice meal and a break from all the movies, and the large crowd hanging around out front and the hour-long wait for a table reassured me that this was going to be a tasty meal. I put my name on the list and waited for a text that my table was ready. (The hostess asked if we would be okay sitting at a communal table, so be aware if you're super private and would prefer to dine alone). The restaurant is in a basement, so it's very dark and intimate inside. It is packed with tables, so you'll run a gauntlet to get to your table. The atmosphere is casual and lively, and it's very loud inside with concrete floors and walls. The decor is casual and fun, with colorful flags adorning the walls and a large bar in the center. Since it was my birthday, we decided to order a bottle of prosecco that was listed on the menu. The friendly server took that order and disappeared, only to return to say they didn't have any bottles of prosecco, and we'd have to order by the glass. Big disappointment. We placed our order for Thai vegetables as an appetizer and we each got their house specialty: Pad Thai. I chose shrimp, my husband chose beef. Our server typed our orders into his electronic pad and disappeared for the remainder of our meal. The place was packed and they obviously didn't have enough servers waiting tables, so the service knocks this place down at least one, but probably two, stars. Another thing that really bugged me is that we were charged prices that were higher than what was stated on the menu. I am not sure if this was just the "tourist surprise special" or if they have dynamic pricing during special events downtown, but it rubbed me the wrong way. My prosecco per-glass price was almost three dollars more than listed on the menu, as were our entrees. Not cool. I also was annoyed by the volume of noise in the place. It was SO LOUD with people screaming to have conversations. This would've been a killer place for a romantic evening if they could do something about the noise levels. The food was really good and made with high quality ingredients, so I can't complain about that at all! In fact, I'll definitely return next time I'm in town for the festival. Note: they won't take reservations during TIFF, so don't bother. But do show up at least an hour before you want to eat, it really did take the quoted time for a table to be ready.
Excellent
Food was excellent would definitely come back. Highly recommend if you want spicy food. The server was super nice and had some great suggestions. The setting is beautiful and even when the line was out the door we were seated within 30mins.
Great Thai food in downtown Toronto
Great tasty food. A bit expensive but that's most restaurants. The salad was delicious. Location is close to Union station. Very busy inside but server was attentive and friendly.
Good Northern Thai Cuisine
Just had a fine meal at Pai today. It's a cozy basement restaurant with a bit of a hippy vibe. We arrived at 1:30 on a Thursday afternoon and were immediately seated. Service was attentive and very good. We shared an order of Grabong (squash fritters) and a bowl of Khao Soi with chicken. The fritters made for a great snack and were none too greasy. The Khao Soi was very rich and creamy, a fair bit more so than the brothier versions we have enjoyed in Northern Thailand. We also had a Thai tea which was quite sweet. Pai also has a daily $5 drink special (today's was 1oz of Jameison Scotch) which is good value. Overall, Pai is a really good stop in Toronto for Northern Thai cuisine. FYI, the actual town of Pai in Northern Thailand is overrun with tourists and best to be avoided if you're looking for an authentic Thai experience.
Dinner spot before watching a musical at Royal Alexandra Theater
Went here before watching a musical show at Royal Alexandra Theater. Good food but I felt it was overrated. The menu items can also be found in other places that charge less. The portions are pretty small too. The restaurant was very busy but we got lucky that there was a free table for 2. The restaurant had a very dimmed, very dark lighting inside.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!

So glad I came across this app :)

perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
