Anyone passing through Singapore cannot miss an evening at the Raffles Hotel, a historic location. Among the various restaurants in the hotel it is possible to dine in this Bar & Billiards, a high-level Italian menu. It's not cheap but the experience is worth it... After dinner I recommend visiting the hotel in all its areas.... A dive into the past of the Colonies of the 19th century.... It deserves it

Amazing location and our table was outside in the charming and relaxing patio! The service was outstanding and the Italian food excellent! The food was fresh and so tasty! Vitello tonnato was delicious Burrata Pugliese… like in Italy..!! Risotto Acquerello alla Milanese.. perfect! Ravioli cacio e Pepe’s ..Al denté! Bistecca di tonno .. so tender. We finished this gorgeous dinner by the creamy and so delicate Tiramisu. Congratulation to the Manager Quentin and the extraordinary Team! This place is a Gem!

Great ambiance in the grand dame of Singapore, Raffles Hotel . You feel like stepping into the pages of time into the colonial times of Singapore. Thoughtful and courteous service. Food beautifully presented, including the delicious desert. Very happy I chose to celebrate my classmate's birthday here.
Be the first to ReplyJust great
By far one of the best Italian restaurant in Singapore. Every time I am there I always go there for the true taste of Italian cuisine. Wide wine selection
Be the first to ReplyFirst experience at BBR
Great ambience. Was there with my two lovely teenagers. The casarecce pasta is a little on the heavy side, and that’s Sicily’s kind of food. Burrata was very creamy and soft! Not the usual Burrata you get at other Italian restaurants. If you like dishes from Tuscany, do go give it a try. Staffs were all very friendly and attentive.

The food served was of high standard and quality. I had a wonderful time and enjoyed every single dish. Great service and I'm very happy for the overall experience. I wanted to thank you Bar and Billiards Room and to all the staff especially Theresa, Nick, Monica, Joy and Anson (wine sommelier) they’re really hospitable and friendly. Definitely will come back again.
Be the first to ReplyDishes cooked to perfection plus excellent service from Nick.
It was our second chance to try Osteria BBR. Again, it exceeded our expectations. The food was perfectly cooked. The pizzas were superb. The Filet di Manzo and Veal were marvelous. But what made our dinner extra special was the service of Nick. He is hands on and took care of all of us with efficiency and courtesy.

It was a wonderful experience! Really good service, the venue is gorgeous and the food divine. The plating is beautiful and quality of the food really impressive. The risotto was really yummy. Nice selection of non alcoholic cocktails also. Baby friendly atmosphere and they provided a high chair.

Amazing food and service , starters to main course and deserts , a pure joy ! Location in Raffles hotel , magnificent place Highly recommended
Be the first to ReplyAlain Ducasse at Raffles: brunch
Tragic decor of this once beautiful space, it could be an airport lounge. More of a set lunch than a brunch: Some dishes were good but mean portions, I wish I’d photographed the terrible cheese course: four tiny slices of unripe cheese, no condiment, fruits and stale toasted bread on the side. Laughable! The wine was mediocre and we kept having to request refills. Frankly the worst brunch I’ve been to in Singapore which is very sad. Certainly not value for money abd not what we expected of Raffles or Ducasse .
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Sunday brunch
Osteria BBR’s brunch menu is not extensive but very high quality. The veal, lobster and Lamb are must try items. Service is good and staff are all very friendly and attentive especially the receptionist , Theresa, who accommodated our requests immediately. Overall, good experience and well worth the price.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Christmas Brunch and Service
Blown away by the Christmas brunch offerings, which boasts free flow of drinks including bubblies, wines, a good range of cocktails and non alcoholic beverages. Food wise, it was almost like their regular menu but free flow of everything! Everything tastes fresh and of quality. Service staff, Krishna and Punitha, were so hospitable, making sure we got everything we ordered (and more!). It was a very busy service day but they managed to make us feel taken care of.
Be the first to ReplyA somewhat ordinary dinner...
OK, when we have the names Raffles hotel, Alain Ducasse and a relatively newly opened restaurant with a lot of expectation, what possibly can go wrong? Well, nothing went wrong.. it's just that, it was just a nice meal... First, before we went to the restaurant, we were made aware that there is certain dress code expected... that is absolutely fine when you have the top names in the restaurant and hotel industry put together... however, when we walked into the restaurant, it gave us a completely different vibe... kind of reminds me of another high end hotel chain with a single letter as its name... with a kind of nostalgic coffee shop ambience... (I was expecting this restaurant to be much more fashionably formal) anyways, we didn't think the clientele were dressed up as expected (some gents were in shorts) even though I was prepared for it as it's our first night in Singapore. As for the food, we order a lot to share and while they were all good, I have to look back at my photos to remind me of them... My main dish was the most memorable, being the duck pasta as it was cooked as to my preference, al dente.. perfect! Oh, and the Ruinart as well.. Service-wise, probably it could be more attentive, but probably due to the restaurant setting and slightly understaffed shift, not all of our requests (such as refilling our water glasses) were accommodated promptly. Overall, it was an enjoyable diner but mostly because of the company, my sisters family whom I haven't seen in 3 years... Will I go again? Yes, probably for a casual lunch, but for a night out with an occasion, I'd probably go elsewhere...
Be the first to ReplyGood lunch
First visit, ordered the two course set lunch plus the signature dessert. The tuna tartare was okay. The seabass with mashed potato was good. Next time can consider to order the mashed potato as a separate dish. The signature baba was above average, main purpose of coming here was to try this dish because it was recommended by ST, probably without the limoncello it would taste better for me ? The bread basket was not that interesting. Nice ambience and friendly customer service.
Be the first to ReplyA terrible experience from start to finish! Shame on AmEx and Raffles Hotel
We received special invitation from American Express Centurion to attend ‘An Epicurean Showcase’ by Chef Alain Ducasse, held at Osteria BBR by Alain Ducasse, Raffles Hotel Singapore. The price of S$328++ per head was pretty ridiculous but not totally unusual for a high quality Michelin star restaurant & chef, it had to be prepaid and once we got to the restaurant we understood why. The restaurant is in the old Billiard & Bar Room (hence BBR) in the hotel and some designer has gone to great lengths to make you feel like the round tables has you sitting in a billiard pocket while the kitchen represents the old billiard table light. Ambiance = zero but I can recommend their Gin and Tonic (at S$25.80 each). Not listed on the menu was I guess the pre-dinner course - two finger size tacos with chopped tomato and something I could only describe as a supermarket ham sandwich in what resembled pita bread. We immediately knew we were in trouble. Alain Ducasse was in the restaurant and wondered past the kitchen once but ignored the guests and looked to have his own table. He seemed totally disinterested in what was coming out of his kitchen. It is hard to see across the room as the benches next to the tables are used for storage of glasses and booze (yes the waiters continuously apologise as they lean over your table to get glassware for other diners) The person who we presumed was Alain's sous chef wondered in and out of the kitchen on his cell phone during the evening without any engagement with the kitchen team, we stopped counting at 12 trips past our table. Trying to remain positive we ordered a bottle of wine from a menu where the cheapest bottle is S$178, the average about S$900 and it tops out around S$16,000 a bottle. The wine was great, 2016 Casa Edi Mirafiore Barolo DOCG (93/100 Wine Enthusiast) but I could have bought it in Italy at the supermarket for €36.90. The first menu course was the amuse bouche (first time we had ever seen this listed as a course) and this was the highlight of the entire meal. Foam mozzarella burrata with tomato underneath - delicious! Then came a vegetable terrine with chestnuts ...and vinegar, a lot of vinegar. So much vinegar that it was totally inedible but probably only good for indigestion. Not sure if the person who put this dish together never tasted it, but the mix of vegetables with the weird texture of chestnuts drowned in vinegar felt more likely someone betting they could serve anything they liked in a Michelin star restaurant and the unsuspecting diners would praise it. Then came the tagliatelle with white truffle (they shaved some extra truffle because we had sent the previous course back after a few bites). This was a delicious home made pasta with a white sauce and shaved truffle. Who doesn't like a bit of truffle! Suddenly another chef popped out and presented us with a fish course that was not on the menu, apparently also because we had sent the vegetable dish back. It was a white fish with carrots and orange sauce (note how many dishes had oranges in them from here on, just no imagination). It was under-seasoned and pretty ordinary with the exception of the small dollop of reduction used to stick the carrots to the plate which was delicious. There just wasn't any balance to it. We were then presented with what I presume should have been the hero main course; Wagyu tenderloin with endive, a reduction of red onion and red wine, and a Marsala jus. Firstly it was Australian wagyu, not Japanese, and secondly we could not understand why you would serve tenderloin. Personally I only serve cuts of wagyu that let you highlight the incredible flavour (like ribeye). The beef was ok and a pink medium rare, but had no seasoning. The endive had been slow cooked in orange but not long enough so the bitterness remained, and that combined with the red onion reduction and Marsala jus just did not work. It was a very confusing main course that my helper could have whipped up. Next we got Olive oil ice cream which tasted like vanilla and an orange sauce (not sure if it was intentional but it was a bit like a marmalade). Too much orange peel had been grated into the sauce so it was bitter and unpleasant, and also had no balance. This was followed by two halves of a cut open passion fruit with a teaspoon and a quarter diced mango in the shell with tooth picks to eat them. This belonged in a hawker stand and we could not figure out how it fit into the menu. The final course was a (way too) rich chocolate moose textured desert on a biscuit with what looked like a print of a merlion but we were told was just a lion. We were told the story of the last tiger shot in Singapore after escaping from a visiting circus and ending up in the Billiard Bar and finally being shot outside. (It's on the Raffles Hotel website) It could have been a cool story but there was no flow or theme or story to the rest of the meal so it was just as random as all the courses had appeared. We took two bites and got the bill so we didn't have to endure anything else. So moral of this rather long story is if you want to get average quality Italian bistro food, go to Pizza Hut where the meal will set you back no more than S$50 a head including wine. This awful, below average meal at Osteria BBR set us back S$500 per head including the wine! Shame on you American Express Centurion and shame on you Raffles Hotel for tolerating such poor quality against your high value brands.
Be the first to ReplySublime brunch with outstanding service
I thought that this place couldn't get any better than their tasting menu with wine pairing which I highly recommend but their brunch is also top class. What an amazing way to spend a Sunday! Freeflow champagne/prosecco/cocktails/wines with a choice of ala carte food and specials for the brunch. Just amazingly tasty food, incredible octopus, tuna tartare, lobster pasta and dover soul along with a sublime cheese platter. All served with a smile and the most amazing personal service in Singapore. Danielle, Kirshnan and the team are truly outstanding in their way that they make a guest feel special and can't do enough for them and everyone who works here is always smiling and very friendly. Truly outstanding. Better than most of the Michelin starred restaurants in Singapore! Highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyToo expensive Lah!!!
Sure Alain Ducasse is famous...but we can get oysters and seafood everywhere in Singapore. Why does his food have to be so expensive? This is a Crazy Rich Asian kind of place to eat...glamorous and very expensive. Food just okay...
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, wine and ambience
We have been extremely lucky with the restaurants that we have chosen in this trip to Singapore and Osteria BBR was another great choice. The setting is lovely, on the side of Raffles Hotel. The interior is colonial relaxed. We chose the chef’s tasting”Tentazioni” menu. Every element of the menu was delicious, with the flavours popping in our mouths. The wine menu has depth, with a selection to please most tastes. The waiters were attentive without being intrusive.
Be the first to ReplyGood food attentive service but nothing memorable
I was there to celebrate my husbands birthday (the staff had taken the trouble to record this occassion at reservation) however although the service was perfunctory and the food faultless the lack of an acknowledgement of our special ocassion left me feeling somewhat short changed and made me wonder why the staff had even bothered to ask if we were celebrating an occasion. Otherwise I have to say that the food was good but not in a Michelin stared way and service was efficient but lacked soul and sincere hospitality
Be the first to ReplyMy return visit
Our last visit was in February 2022 This visit is freer with relaxed covid measures. The Brunch menu remains unchanged but we decided on items different from our last visit. But for the oysters which seemed to be everyone favourite. We had the turbot for our main. Well served by the side of our table from a push trolley. But frankly the fish is not great but the service and presentation made the experience fabulous. We had better turbot at an al fresco stall in Istanbul for a fraction of the price. Meaning ambient and service command a big premium and rightly so. Furthermore as Raffles EP member, we get a complimentary glass each of their signature champagne, nice! Our bill came up to $375/- quite reasonable for a meal for two at this fine restaurant. See my photos attached. Free flow of champagne &wine etc for $88/pax. Guests were merrily drink all through brunch. Really a great deal! I couldn’t because I drove.
Be the first to ReplyBest barolo beef cheek pasta n amazing service!
I came with my client from the UK who lived inThe Four Seasons for 15 years in HK n we absolutely loved it! The barolo beef cheek pasta was amazing and so was the aged beef tatare. The 2 Italian managers - top notch service and so friendly .. the chefs were amazing too! Sitting at the bar watching them was a treat. Sommelier recommended this amazing barolo and amarone (Giacomo Montresor) We are back 4 days later and ordering the same food and wine. I don’t know why other reviews aren’t as good previously! Not true!
Be the first to ReplyMediocre food but worthwhile for the history and service
Fantastic space, full of light, nice open kitchen, staff are attentive and focused on customer satisfaction. The menu looks great, but the food is a little disappointing. Sad to see a once iconic room and dinning experience transformed into a fairly mediocre restaurant. It’s a worthwhile visit in a city with limited good options.
Be the first to ReplyLow key in a good way
Osteria BBR is obviously designed to sit in the mid-tier of the Raffles Hotel's F&B offerings, and it does the job nicely. The service staff uniform is "formal with sneakers", which probably tells you everything you need to know about what they are trying to go for. It's a subdued fit-out, but the emphasis was on quality rather than flash (and, honestly, the room itself is a grand statement). The seating is comfortable and the tables are well-spaced, which makes it a nice space to relax and chat, rather than feel like you need to eat-and-run. The menu is surprisingly small, with a big emphasis on fish and beef. The table next to us ordered a pizza each, so you could do that. The Margaritta was excellent. We went for pasta and risotto which, to be honest, was good but not great. The accompanying asparagus dish had one person at the table saying "wow, not shy with the salt". Service was top-notch. So, overall it's an interesting experience. It's a nice restaurant, you feel well taken care of and it's the right balance of formal and casual. But, the food had nothing remarkable about it... which is the impression you are left with about the overall experience.

Delicious, flavourful food and impeccable service - the lobster salad was a particular favourite of mine but everything that my family and I had from the menu was superb. Espresso martini was to die for.
Be the first to ReplyExquisite Dining experience
We had the most incredible Sunday Brunch! Absolutely everything one could hope for! Fabulous warm hospitality from the charismatic attentive team. Chilled Champagne which accompanied the freshest of oysters (we were told by Krishna they arrived the day before). The dishes were elegant fresh and light, with just enough theatre without being too pretentious. As is always our experience with Raffles dining, they source the absolute best and freshest seasonal produce. Our lobster and baby leek salad was vibrant and bursting with flavour, the steak tartare was a very generous portion and was perfection itself. One of the highlights was a spring baby vegetable dish, with a vibrant green sauce, it was so pretty and absolutely delicious. I really regret not taking a picture. The peach Bellini’s are an absolute must. Deserts were incredible too, the most beautiful chocolate bomb and a gorgeous strawberry explosion… heaven! Despite being a very busy restaurant we were so well looked after. We felt the teams knowledge of the menu and their recommendations really added to the whole experience. Every single member of staff were knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Most of all we loved the fun upbeat atmosphere - Giovanni and Daniele in particular were absolutely amazing they put their heart and souls into their work… we left feeling completely spoiled … honestly can’t wait to return.
