Orphan Andy's Restaurant San Francisco Reviews from The Last Year
Amazing Breakfast
Wr had a great breakfast experience here. The diner has a great vibe! Moe and the rest of the staff are friendly and welcoming! I had the French toast stuffed with cream cheese and spiced apples! It was so sweet and delicious. I could barely put my fork down ! My spouse had a hearty breakfast of eggs, bacon and potatoes! The coffee was good too! We definitely recommend this place.

Friendly staff and great food.
The environment inside was also really neat! If you are in the Castro, you definitely have to check this place out

Yes! YES!!! YES!!!!; Finally found a PROPER diner that could finally shut up my dear sweet native Chicagoan hubby about the seemingly sad situation that was us here in SF and lack of the above. So NOT TRUE!!! And so now we've got some MUCH deserved R-E-S-P-E-C-T!!!! -Word Ya'll!!!

Late night out in sf and your just craving a dinner for a greasy burger and don't mind the wait then I'd try this place out. We came ordered burgers. I dot a double with cheddar cheese and onion rings. They work fast up in there and they only have one chef in the back. Who joggles from one order to another but it's a great late night spot when I just got to have something in your stomach
Customer service is very fabulous.
Food absolutely delicious. Convenient and fast. Bonus, Bonus, Bonus for me every time.

Got a bagel, avocado and fries here a few nights ago (I'm vegan and there aren't many options) but it was fantastic! The place was packed and service was still friendly and fast. The old-timey diner look is super fun! Would love if they had more vegan options, but I had a great tile here and what I could get was very tasty!
They are not open after probably 3:00 a.
m. I'm going to guess... or whenever the last drunk person comes in to eat (after the bars close). I came all the way down here assuming they would be open and of course they were not. I should have called first...
Be careful because they overcharge.
A $13.50 BLT was charged + $50.00. Be aware and make sure to check your bill. Good food, but poor customer services regarding the head waiter. Not returning!
A perfect Divey Diner in the Heart of the Castro.
Contrary to many people's experience here - I stopped by here absolutely stone cold sober in the middle of the day to grab lunch and catch up with a friend. And I am so glad I did. We arrived at Orphan Andy's a little after 1:30 PM. The restaurant had customers in it but wasn't too crowded at all. There is a mix of booth seating and bar/counter style seating. We were promptly at a booth when we arrived. The ambiance of this place is extremely cute - lots of flashing lights, and fun decor. Even the table had old music boxes which were a nice touch. For our food I got an order of chocolate chip hot cakes, and my friend got a Monte Cristo with Potato salad on the recommendation of our server. The food was actually so good. The chocolate chip pancakes were the perfect mix of salty and sweet and paired with the whipped butter and maple syrup on the side it was perfection. Arguably the best stack of pancakes I've had here in the bay area. The monte cristo is always a solid combination but Orphan andys did it to perfection - another great example of the salty and sweet flavor combination. By far the highlight of our meal was the service at this restaurant. Both individuals we interacted with were extremely friendly and attentive - for that reason alone I'd come back again. All in all - I had a wonderful time at Orphan Andy's yesterday. Would definitely recommend stopping by here for a mid day meal and I'm looking forward to trying it as a late night option some time soon. Ambiance : 5/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 5/5
This place is so bad but at least it's consistent.
I'll probably come back because it's next to my house but I'm writing this review to remind myself I'm a idiot for coming Back lol. I do appreciate the older queen in the red hats lack of caring, it was honestly funny how bad they were. Ordered something and as they were dropping it off he informed me that the cook misheard him and they made something else... but didn't want to remake it so they just gave it to me lol.
Good food with great service
Great fluffy pancakes, good selection for breakfast and great atmosphere. I really wanted to try the biscuits and gravy...but too much food!

I was really excited about this place! My friends and I found a 20 on the ground but then when we went in, we put it on the the table to dry out (it was wet) and the server tried to take it thinking it was a tip and when we said that that was actually ours and they accused us of stealing! Then the manager then came over and also accused us of stealing. Here's a picture proof we found it outside. It was disappointing because the manager said the table was dirty and hadn't cleared the tips but the table had clearly been wiped down prior to us being sat. We ended up leaving and getting tacos at a tent outside.
Weird that I have live in SF for so long and never been
Weird that I have live in SF for so long and never been here. I was with a friend and we wanted a fast (less expensive) dinner. We had a drink next door and the headed here. We got to sit in the window booth (though the counter looks fun too). We split an entree and a chocolate malt and both left stuffed. Portions here are huge! We got the turkey bacon cheese melt with onion rings. It was exactly what you expect it to be. It was a little sloppy in construction but definitely ht the spot. The malt could have used a little more malt powder - but hit the spot as well. I will say our server was a doll and made sure we were happy with everything. The bathroom here is less than Ideal - teeny tiny and off the kitchen, so go before you go, if you catch my drift.
Rude staff
Will not be back, staff is very rude especially the short Hispanic guy who walks around with a mean mug and inappropriate clothing.

My son (19) and I had dinner here on Saturday, around 5:30pm. I ordered the Monte Cristo, because I hadn't had one in a while, and my son had breakfast for dinner - eggs with Louisiana hot sausage. I asked for a salad instead of french fries, not necessarily because I was feeling like something healthy, although that's a good reason, but really because I'd had fries for the past couple days. The salad was huge - the usual salad things, but also onions and mushrooms. I couldn't finish it. The Monte Cristo was topped with powdered sugar, and it was delicious and filling. I took half of it home. Nathaniel really liked his meal also - I had a bite of his sausage and it was spicy but also tasty. Service was pretty good considering the place was full. We were going to see Welcome to Night Vale at the Castro, and I was glad we got there early, because when we left, there was a line. Definitely a good place to stop if you're in the area. Or even if you're just passing through. We took Muni, so I can't comment on parking availability, but my experience in the past is that it's best to take public transportation there.
friendly
A very diverse place to say the least, in the largest and most assertive LGBT neighborhood with its multicolored flags of the USA. Doesn't look much at first glance, very small surface area, stuck in time, service can be a little long, but attractive price and little chance of being hungry when leaving, large menu on the menu.
Joyous diner
This place is just so friendly, joyous and welcoming. We had a really great time and the staff was superb. We had stake dinner and soup (minestrone) and the food was tasty and very satisfying.
Solid meal
My omelet was well prepared and potatoes were quite good. Portions are substantial. Burger had a good flattop crust. Chili is homemade and has nice texture. Friendly service snd good prices.
Whenever I return to San Francisco, first stop is Orphan Andy's.
This is perhaps my favorite restaurant in San Francisco. I love the food, the people, the service, in fact everything about it. As a leather Master I love the fact that I can walk my slave in wearing his collar and leash, to say nothing of his loincloth. Me in full leather. Total acceptance.
Great place , great food great people
Great food, and even greater service. Fast service and reasonable prices. BUT for me the attention I get is what make me choose this place . Every time I went either Vite or Robie made sure I was having a good time and were super kind . They are the sweetest, I’ve been going there every day since I arrive at San Francisco a week ago ,I have 8 days more left and planning to eat there each one of them.

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

When it says working on bid, it means there are people looking to fill it.
