Superb food and accommodation, excellent friendly service
Excellent friendly service in a beautiful location. We have been for meals and afternoon tea before, but this was the first time we stayed overnight and the room was lovely. Fantastic food as usual (dinner and breakfast). Overall superb and great value for money for this quality of service.

Old Downton Lodge is perfect for a quiet weekend in the heart of England with delicious food, perfect service and comfortable beds. We can't recommend it highly enough. We went with a school friend from 60 years ago and had a memorable weekend. Seriously, enjoy a stay as soon as you can.

Superb ! From being greeted with an umbrella in the rain, at my car door, to personalised menus at dinner, well-crafted food and very comfy room, our visit was outstanding. Friendly staff, good food, cosy room and if you like whisky or whiskey you wouldn't find a more eclectic choice outside of Scotland!

It was lovely stay. As soon as we checked in, maitre D checked our diet request (as I’m pescatarian) The room was beautiful and clean. Lovely garden. Dining room was stunning! Food was well thought out. Staffs are efficient.I’m picky, white wine is pretty expensive. Over all we had a lovely stay.

This was a really delightful place to stay . The staff were really friendly . The rooms were perfect..Super comfortable beds, that one didn’t want to get out of ..except that the breakfast in the characterful dining room was waiting . Each room had a sitting area in the garden , just a few steps away. Surrounded by rose and lavender beds . The area surrounding Old Downton Lodge was new to us, and we were surprised by how beautiful it was .
Lovely luxury country stay
We had a lovely one night stay for my husband’s birthday. We requested a dog friendly room for our 2 dogs. This was a very well appointed ground floor room opening onto the courtyard. The bed was huge and very comfortable and we had a large bathroom. Bowls a mat and dog treats had been left for the dogs. Our welcome was very friendly with minimum fuss. The hotel is very handsome - located in an old hamlet and consisting of quite a grand manor house and converted outbuildings. The weather was mixed when we went there but we managed to take tea in the lovely courtyard. Drinks in the bar/lounge were very pleasant and the tasting menu was delicious and sophisticated . Also a good choice of wines at different price points. The dining room is a nice high ceilings room which looks like a converted barn or dovecot. Our only very small niggle was breakfast - the quality of the cooked breakfast was good but my portion of haddock was very small - I would rather pay a bit more and have more fish ! Also the menu could have flagged more clearly that this was covered in a hollandaise sauce. Also the buffet part of the breakfast was quite limited -l - eg some pastries or different breads would have been nice and serving commercial cereals seemed a bit incongruous. However overall this is a very small point and we would finely stay again.
AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE
This wonderful old hotel (or restaurant with rooms) is well off the beaten track in an idyllic part of Shropshire. Our room which was a converted barn was very attractive and interesting as well as having every mod con in the room and bathroom. We used the bar, which is also very stylishly converted, for tea and pre and after dinner drinks and were fascinated by the whiskey library with more whiskeys than my husband (a Scot) had ever seen in one place. Dinner was superb and the staff in all areas were charming and helpful. In fact they couldn't do enough for you. This is the most tranquil and peaceful spot and we hope to return very soon.

3 miles down a single-track road. Excellent welcome. Good parking (electric charging available). Lovely room and bathroom (complicated lighting controls) Amazing staff. Peaceful. Relaxing. Nice bar We had a lovely stay and a great dinner.
an excellent place for a short break
An excellent place for a two day break . The rooms are comfortable ,the garden spectacular and the food and wine as good as it gets . The staff are friendly and also attentive and competent .Highly recommended .We would certainly return when we can.
Unique Experience
We typically have a very high expectation of places we stay at and critique accordingly. We have frequented many similar and far more expensive boutique countryside hotels in Spain and Italy but Downton is head and shoulders above them at a fraction of the price. This hotel is far from the crowds and the tourist in a perfect English countryside setting. The staff is freindly and service is impecable. The one single negative; please replace the mattresses.

Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.

Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
