Nice Find in Belem
WE had a great meal at this little gem. Got a seat the first night without a reservation but was fully booked when we tried later. Our loss. Seems to be more of a place for locals rather than tourists. Wait staff were very efficient. Interesting concept for dining inside at a rectangular bar though we ate outside. I believe this restaurant has a Michelin mention and deserves it.

Excellent welcome, pleasant staff and simple, welcoming environment. Great location. Honest Portuguese food with a pleasant twist. Good service and reasonably priced for the location and quality.

Food; very creative and really great! Wine: their own venture with a Burgundy producer offers an outstanding Chardonnay at good price! Recommend. Service: all a bit too rushed, yet attentive; a smile now and then would be nice… - napkins should really be cotton rather than cheap paper - plates laid out for sharing hot food should be warmed rather than be cold
Be the first to ReplyAn intimate gem with delightful dishes
I dined here with my wife on a Thursday evening and we were so impressed we came back for lunch on the Sunday before heading to the airport home. An informal and intimate restaurant, seated around a horseshoe bar where you are treated to watching the chefs prepare the dishes. Don't be put off by the simplicity of the descriptions on the menu - the work and effort that goes into the preparation is delivered on the plate. Our first evening I had the steak tartare and my wife had clams followed by us sharing a fish main. We both finished with the lemon meringue deconstruction. Accompanied with a delightfully light and delicate rose. It was a lovely introduction and we knew we would make the effort to return. I couldn't find fault with any of the dishes. For our second visit I had the rabbit and my wife the razor clams to start , she followed up with creamy eggs with asparagus and I had mushroom risotto. Oh wow - the rabbit was gorgeous - I chose it because it is so easy to overcook rabbit but it was perfect. The eggs were the best I have tasted in my life, absolutely divine. We then indulged and had all 3 deserts to share - again we were not disappointed. The head chef has worked in Michelin starred restaurants and it was obvious in the balance of flavours and care in the prep. They have a great team of friendly staff and I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Great food, fantastic wines, all at a reasonable price. Be aware that there are 2 sittings per session (lunch and evening) and whilst I never felt rushed it is something to be of aware of if you are thinking of a long slow or romantic meal.
Be the first to ReplySmall gem!
It is a small restaurant in Bellem but a great experience and we enjoyed our dinner sitting at the bar with others and being able to talk to the chef. The food was well prepared and delicious and had a variety of courses from their small but varied menu. Would recommend a visit but given the size of the place would advise to book in advance
Be the first to ReplyA must do in Belem section of Lisbon
The food is amazing and the chefs work so hard preparing in front of you. They do every part of the meal, including dessert and wine, bus your table and manage the bill. They are truly craftsmen at their work. Prices also reasonable showing you don’t have to be super expensive to be in the Michelin Guide. This was a top 2 restaurant in Eater for Belem and I think it is well deserved.

We sat at the barra for lunch and we had a great time. The choice is not much but all the dishes satisfied our expectations. Portuguese dishes relaborated in a very creative fashion. You can see this is a great small restaurant ran by people who know their job. Also, the girl cooking in front of us was so caring and fun as she talked to us always smiling and helping us in our choice of the food. It is a must-go when you are in Belem!

This is a small wine bar/local Portuguese restaurant with a beautiful large circular bar with counter space surrounding the kitchen. They were closed but accommodated me which wasn't expected but so kind of them. The food was unique and delicious. I only had one dish Corvina Xérem but will def go back to try several others. Great wine selection. Caring staff.

Booked this restaurant because it sounded interesting and based on reviews definitely worth a visit. I was hoping for good food and a nice atmosphere, but my expectations were exceeded! Each course was super enjoyable, packed with interesting flavours and seasoned to perfection. The view of the organised, yet relaxed chefs working was a pleasure. The wine we had was interesting in a good way and a great part of the experience. Wish I can go again someday, but in the mean time I'm just going to recommend it to anyone visiting Belém!

Be the first to ReplyCharm plus great tapas
Located in the Belem area (easy and cheap Uber ride), this traditional Portuguese place was full of old with modern twists. It’s a fairly small place which has only a large u shaped bar for seating, along with a handful of outdoor tables under cover. Don’t remember heaters for the colder days. Menu was only in Portuguese and waiters spoke limited English but we managed.the menu featured many tapas options to share… rice with octopus, croquettes with pork, cod with peppers, Iberian pork and marinated duck. All was delicious and a great way to sample several different tastes. Accompany these delights with local wine and it was a great experience.
