Highly over-rated and even more outrageously over-priced, even for London. Anchovies, four filleted anchovies, ie two, for £14, Four sprigs of broccoli over-bathed in too-creamy hollandaise, for £16. Wines by the glass, measured in tiny glasses but for more than £14 a throw. Service was random: anchovies inexplicably over-cutleried and then one us was given a knife, the other wasn’t with the broccoli spears: make your minds up! My second and last (but excellent) glass of wine, though ordered when the anchovies plates were cleared away, only came as I was finishing the broccoli. When we asked for a side of spinach, we were told that there was no spinach in the kitchen, when it was an integral part of the main on the set menu being served at the table next to us. We asked whether this could be checked and the waiter returned making it sound as if we were being specially favoured with a side of (undercooked and lukewarm) spinach. £110 for four starters and two (small) glasses of wine and a bottle of sparkling water. Pretentious wine bar, a “steal” in a bad way. Had to go elsewhere on this delightful little street to have some lunch! Wouldn’t give it the time of day.
