Great Nantucket Vibe
This restaurant had a friendly server and a nice lunch vibe. The tuna poke was spicy and delicious. Based on that, we would have given it 4 stars. However, the soft shell crab sandwich was a real disappointment. It was smothered with so much sauce that overpowered the crab. Definitely ask for the sauce on the side.

Food was good but not worth the cost. Drinks were great but was very crowded and loud. Gets four stars because it wasn’t bud but not my kind of place.
Be the first to ReplyThe most creative small plates on Nantucket.
It is the best of creative small plates. Terrific and diverse menu. Every offering is beautifully presented and delicious in every way. The fried oyster tacos, the Vietnamese salad, the carrots, the prawns ala plancha, so many wonderful dishes. Go hungry and order as many items as you can handle. Great bar and wine list. What fun!

Had a dinner here to celebrate my friends 50th birthday. It was delicious but similar flavors across dishes... The oyster tacos were a revelation and we ordered more. Was a little bit of heaven...so why 4 stars....much too noisy so appreciation of the foos was a solo effort

I honestly have no words. I'm not an adventurous foodie, I'm often referred to as "Picky". We were visiting Nantucket from CA and this place blew my socks off. Everything we tried was amazing! We did not have reservations, it was a Tuesday night and our wait was maybe 20 min at the chefs bar. Cool spot, you can almost see all of the food prep while enjoying a glass of wine off their diverse wine list. We had the Shishito's, pork belly buns, pork riblets and Dan-Dan noodles. I'm 100% serious when I say amazing! Outstanding! We were walking out and I'm telling my husband we are coming back tomorrow to try the items we didn't try tonight. Sorry no pics - all that was left was empty plates
Be the first to ReplyBest Meal Of Our Stay On Nantucket
It's hard to add much more to all the glowing reviews here. It's the island's hardest reservation to get for a reason. We simply got there about 5pm and snagged bar seats. Done. The bartenders are just the best you'll ever encounter. Warm, conversational and very good at what they do. Our cocktails were just amazing and we tried several. Inventive and delicious, all! We tried six dishes and they all just killed. The tuna poke was the best I've ever had and I love tuna poke. A perfect balance of all those flavors and the sushi rice was perfection. I'm now ruined for all others. Thanks Nautilus. The rare beef Vietnamese dish was again delicious and exotic, a word I kept thinking of the whole night to describe the amazing dinner. Another word I heard a lot from the bar was 'wow' after a first bite. I did plenty of that myself. The monkfish in fish sauce caramel were a bit much for my partner but I loved them as I love fish sauce quite a lot. The crab fried rice is just scrumptious with big hunks of fresh blue crab and two sauces, it's a meal in itself so pace yourself with this one! Everyone orders the oyster tacos and yes, get them. Amazing. We received a free order of the calamari due to an error in the order and it was again a stellar dish. In my opinion Nautilus was the best meal we had on our 9 day's on the island. I love small plates and tapa most of all and I'm a freak for Asian so I may be a bit biased here. We also dined at Straight wharf, Proprietors and American Seasons and the Nautilus was by far my favorite meal.
Be the first to ReplyTHE spot in Nantucket. (Ask for a "The Dean" ...A negroni with mezcal instead of gin...Miam!)
Prepare yourself for an extraordinary evening. Ask for a spot at the bar. Eat fish. Enjoy the drinks. Leave happy. Can't wait to be back.

My second time dining with Nautilus; once in Boston. I LOVE the Vietnamese flavor combinations. The Crispy Monkfish bites have dreamy textures and pack a surprise finish on your palette. Scallion pancakes are on the sweeter side, but a must. Lettuce wraps are always good here. Also tried to Blue Crab fried rice that brings a lot of flavor. The one wish I have would be to incorporate the traditional Vietnamese egg roll. All of the cocktails were delish. No complaints! Left very happy!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent restaurant in Nantucket
Located in the heart of downtown Nantucket we loved our experience at Nautilus. We were two for dinner and shared five small plates. The tuna poke and calimari salad would have sufficed as main courses they were so big. To these we added a scallion pancake, eggplant tapinade and a delightfully spicy mushroom mixture. We experienced great attentive service all evening and also hand fun listening to the couple sitting right next to us! Their first three small plates mirrored ours and then they verged a little and one of their choices were the chicken drumettes in a sweet soy sauce with pickled vegetables, the smell had us at hello and we’ll likely try them next time.

We ordered the Peking duck, the best we have ever eaten. The presentation was beautiful as well. Clinton, one of the owners, was very attentive to us all during the dinner, helping with wine pairing as well. We would definitely go back. It was a memorable evening.

This restaurant has to be one of the best experiences we've ever had. The staff works seamlessly as a group to make everything from the first greeting through your departure flawless. Everyone is working to make sure you have a good experience. The food flavors are unique and perfectly paired. We didn't have a dish that didn't have a wow factor and was perfectly balanced. The cocktails were creative and quite enjoyable. My only regret is that we can't frequent The Nautilus on a regular basis. If you are fortunate enough to be visiting Nantucket I hope you are fortunate enough to get a reservation at The Nautilus.

We had a spectacular dinner at The Nautilus! The service was superb and attentive, every dish was flavorful and well-prepared, and the variety of offerings was simply outstanding. We particularly enjoyed the Waygu beef entree. The great appetizers, with a definite Asian flair, were all wonderful.

Happy to be out of the “tradition Nantucket fish house”. Sat at the bar (our favorite spot most places). Busy but not packed. Great cocktails by Matt! Pork dumplings, tuna lettuce wraps, japanese street corn, oyster “tacos”. Asian fusion? Somebody really cares
Be the first to ReplyGreat meal at the bar!
Had a great meal at the bar, which was the only way to get a spot since reservation were booked up when I tried to make one. We loved the scallion pancakes, the shishito peppers, the salad, and the pork riblets. Excellent cocktail list, and it was so fun watching the bartender make the colored drinks!

Some of the best food we had on our whole trip to Nantucket! We weren't able to get a table even trying a week in advance but were able to get walk-in bar seats. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We highly recommend the oyster tacos and blue crab fried rice! Also the bartender was fantastic and made me a delicious mocktail that felt just as fancy as the real thing.

Food is really good. The crab fried rice is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. You need to be prepared for a different experience. Food comes out whenever- its not like apps then entrees. We sat at the bar on this visit. Very busy bar with creative mixology. Bartenders were very friendly and accommodating. Need a reservation or a lot of patience. Food and drink is very higj quality. Restaurant is small and very crowded, but people are always friendly. Definitely worth a visit.
Be the first to ReplyReally worth it
This restaurant is very hard to get into unless you are willing to show up early before most others eat. We arrived at 6:30 and got a table outside with the agreement we would be done by 8pm for their next seating. It worked out great! We recommend you try multiple small plates; between 2 of us we ordered 4 small plates. Our favorite were two Hawaiian tuna poke and scallion pancake. So delicious!

There are so many great restaurants on Nantucket and I had resisted eating here because it’s a very tough reservation to get. However we had dinner there last night and I now understand the hype surrounding this place. Our reservation was outside at 9:15 PM (the only one available on line!). As we were walking over, it started to sprinkle. Luckily there was space inside at the chef’s bar in the back and we grabbed those seats. The server came over right away and we ordered our drinks. I had the blueberry vodka drink made with 888 vodka and my husband had a dirty martini. Drinks were very good, which is always a good way to start the meal. We ordered the scallion pancake and the tempura oysters to start, followed by the crab fried rice for each of us. The food was excellent and very unusual. The service was also good. Our server told us that the oysters they use are local, which is a nice touch. So I have to say the hassle in getting a reservation is definitely worth it. It’s really a great place.
