Mrs Yoders Kitchen Mount Hope Reviews from The Last Year
Quick.
Beat the rush. Delicious. Somethings need a sign of what they are on the salad bar. Just in case you aren't brave!!
We just ate at Mrs.
Yoder's kitchen, the food was really good, the chicken was delicious. The staff was very friendly. We got the buffet and for 2 adults it was under 40 dollars.
This is a must if in the area.
Went there in a busy noon hour on 4/30/2024 and hubby and I got right in. Had the buffet and then ordered a piece of pie each. He got strawberry and I got peanut butter. Best I ever had!!
Delicious Amish cooking that is well worth the drive.
Highly recommend the fried chicken and meatloaf. The bacon French dressing was perfect with the fresh loaded salad.
Great selection on the buffet to include the salad bar.
Excellent fried chicken. Wait staff was very curious.
Great fried chicken
We stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner and we were seated immediately. We had the buffet and there were quite a few options: fried chicken, meatloaf, roast beef, noodles, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy. There is also a salad bar. Fried chicken was delicious. Meatloaf had too much ketchup for my liking. No real desserts on the buffet. Be sure to ask for dinner rolls. Service was attentive. There was a significant wait when we left.
Lots of choices to please everyone!
This place was recommended by a local. We drove out of our way to get here, but it was certainly worth it! I am not usually a fan of buffets, as I tend to overeat and hate wasted food. However, we will certainly return. Our party of five included my husband and I, our 18 year old son and my elderly parents. Four of the five of us ate from the buffet. There was certainly something for everyone! We went on a Thursday about 30 minutes before closing time. We were pleasantly surprised to see that they continued to fill the buffet with fresh, hot food. There were many things to choose from on the buffet, including some of the best fried chicken we've ever had, pot roast, turkey, hamloaf (similar to meatballs), cabbage casserole, broccoli casserole, mashed potatoes, Amish noodles, stuffing/dressing, soup, among other things which I cannot recall at this moment. A reasonable price of $17 per person includes the hot bar, salad bar, and beverage (Pepsi products). There is an unlabeled squeeze bottle on each table. It is an Amish peanut butter spread, and it is fabulous! It is very sweet, as it contains peanut butter, marshmallow cream, maple syrup, and corn syrup, but it would be delicious as a sweet treat following dinner on the warm dinner rolls they serve upon request. They also sell it in to-go containers as well. Our server was Rebecca, and she was just as sweet and kind as she could be. We will definitely return next time we visit Holmes County!
The restaurant itself is very clean, open and comfortable.
The staff is so friendly and positive. The food was very good! The salad bar has a nice selection. Everything was fresh and so delicious. The pie is so good too! The only reason I didn't give the full 5 stars was, I thought there could be a bit more selection on buffet but honestly the quality is so good! I also didn't get everything they had on the buffet. I was too full!
We are still talking about how good the fried chicken was
We are still talking about how good the fried chicken was after 5 years! Food was outstanding, as was the service!!!
The fried chicken was the star of the show.
We did the buffet for $17 which included a drink and three choices (buffet style) of dessert. The stuffing, mashed potatoes, were all delicious. Our waitress was great. Most dinners were in the $14-16 range, but then you need to buy a drink so the buffet is a good option. And you get to taste everything!
Great Place Just needs remodeling job !!
The food here is always good service is good been traveling to this area long time this is a nice place to eat, just needs remodeling done !!
Food was excellent.
Service was very good. Prices were reasonable. I wish they would have expanded the choices on the buffet in the third pod instead of repeating what was in the first pod. Fried chicken was fantastic, but enquire about desserts early as they run out of stuff quick.
Basically the definition of comfort food.
We ate here as part of our package with Dutch Host Inn. The coupon covered two buffers with a drink (which would have been around $18 a person otherwise. When we arrived there were a fairly large amount of people waiting (around 15) but we were still seated almost immediately. I browsed the menu but fairly quickly decided to get the buffet, I was surprised how small the buffet actually is. It has two sides, but each side has the same foods. That didn't matter, though because what was there was absolutely delicious. Super creamy mashed potatoes, delicious green beans, flavorful inn noodles. It was a Friday so they had cod nuggets but I didn't try any of those. The star of the buffet was the fried chicken. Perfectly crisp and tasty breading/skin and juicy chicken, The salad bar portion of the buffet had potato salad, noodle salad, coleslaw, broccoli salad, beets, pickled eggs, five bean salad and also traditional salad ingredients. The only sweet option was a jello concoction with strawberries and whipped cream. It was a perfect end to a delicious meal. Service was extremely friendly and efficient, Definitely a place I'd go back to if I was in the area. But do wish there were a few more choices on the buffet
Very Good
Food was fresh and very good. Good variety of food and was great that drink was included in the price. Salad bar was excellent
Just ok
My husband and I went here for lunch for the first time. We both ordered the buffet. The food was average. Nothing on the buffet for dessert except Jell-O.
AMAZING
OHMYGOSH!! So amazing! Everything we had was over the top! We have never tasted chicken like this before! Amazing flavor and so moist! You have to try the peanut butter pie!!If you leave hungry, its your own fault! Cant wait to go back!
Not as good!
My husband and I always plan to eat here when we travel to visit Amish country. This will be our last. From the beginning, we waited approximately 20 minutes to be waited on, while we watched customers, seated after us, be served. We were ready to get up and leave, when our server rushed over. We got the buffet because we love their chicken, but not this time. They must have changed the recipe. It was good but not like it use to be. The salad bar was not as good, the only dessert was jello. Plus they changed 4% for using a credit card. Certainly not worth driving out of our way to go here.
Awesome!
We stop there every time we in that area! Huge Salad bar! Some of The Best Fried Chicken. Food always hot and tasty. Lot of old Amish eat there! That should tell you something! Good desserts also if you have room in your Belly!
Fairly Good Buffet
This salad bar buffet wasn’t as large as other places in the area. Also, we didn’t think the mashed potatoes were as good. The meatloaf was excellent. The coconut pie was also very good.
Disappointing variety on the buffet
Hubby and I have eaten here before and totally enjoyed the experience. However, we noticed the lack of variety of main dishes and sides. The salad bar was adequate but did not seem to be refilled as needed. The quality was overall good, but desserts were not available as part of the buffet as they used to be. If you want dessert, you will certainly find choices on the menu. That could be one way they attempt to keep the price reasonable. Servers needed to be asked more than once for refills and extra napkins. We decided that future visits to Amish country will not include a stop at Mrs. Yoder's Kitchen.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.

I have a similar question, it seems like when money is refunded it doesnt go immediately what is the process of this since its essentially a debit card and not a credit card
