The food here was delicious! I ordered the gazpacho, which was incredibly fresh tasting. My daughter had the fish & chips which were some of the best we've ever had. Others at the table loved their mushroom risotto. The wait staff was very accommodating.

It took me a very long time to find this place online but I finally did since I think this review is needed. First off, I was a solo South Asian-American female traveler and it was pouring rain outside. There were groups of white customers who came AFTER me and they kept getting warmly invited in and seated before me. Then the man seating people finally had no choice but to notice me, and seated me inside. I was at a table and the waitress glared at me and told me to go to another table and that I couldn't sit there, so I moved tables. There was a woman (customer) staring at me, pointing, laughing, and smirking at me nonstop. It made me super uncomfortable and I kept trying to block my face with the menu but she persisted. Then the original man who seated me rudely said "you have to sit over there" and pointed back to the table the other waitress told me to leave. With the combination of all these rude people, I left without even eating and the customer woman laughed at me on the way out. Disgusting people, would not recommend to go here. They will dehumanize anyone who isn't white and treat you like a dog. They deserve zero stars if I could.
Be the first to ReplyStraight to the point!! Avoid this restaurant.
stood waiting for 20 minutes before being seated by a waiter with a chip on his shoulder, after being seated for over 30 minutes we thought they forgot about us drinks eventually arrived & you would think you'll be getting a mind blowing experience especially for the price & the length of time it took to make but was mediocre at best. Food was served within minutes drinks arriving Main course of shepherds pie was so tasteless, as if it was a supermarket ready meal, reheated & slapped on a plate as the presentation was very poor and could say was displeasing to the eye, the linguine lobster main course was definitely not fresh & was over cooked. It only got worse with deserts. There was no buzz or atmosphere in the restaurant, maybe due to the older manager/owner who was upset became very aggressive disrespectful including borderline, discriminative to staff including customers with not a care in the world that he was ruining our & other customers night as he could be heard across the Terrace. service was very poor maybe due to fear & at no point did we feel welcomed. With no real professionalism within this restaurant I can only recommend you avoid it

Our first dinner out upon arriving in London. The food was excellent, the restaurant is so quaint and our server "Medy" was incredible!!

We had an amazing dinner! We had Shepards pie, sea bass, fish and chips and chicken schnitzel. Food was amazing, fast to our table and hot!! We had red wine, 2 bottles, which went down so well and friendly service!

Maddie the server is great! He remember my name from just a phone call to reserve the table so it makes us feel very much valued. Beef bourgignon- very yummy and food portion size Veal parmigiana- so filling! I'd love it better if there's more cheese but still so yummy!Crispy couchette thins- I don't particularly like the coating and it tastes like nothing so not recommend this. Atmosphere is great and it's not too cold sitting outside.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic new management.
We grabbed an early dinner here recently and were blown away by the small changes that have made a big difference! The service is friendly and fast, the food delicious and even the wine seems to taste better! Definitely worth a revisit! Bravo!

It's a snazzy little spot hidden in a side street in Knightsbridge, with a great staff! Our waiter Antonio was a delight and had us laughing all night. It's got both outdoor and indoor seating - selection of booths or more bar type room. The wine selection is delectable & very reasonable. I would recommend the Veal Parmesan & the Truffle Gnocchi (if available, they rotate menus). We loved this restaurant so much we visited a second time for lunch!

This place is lovely! And a London staple from what our host told us. The restaurant has been around for ages and the new management has been giving it a much deserved facelift. Our meal was fantastic. The burrata appetizer was great and large. I didn't get to try the goat cheese app my friend ordered because it was eaten up too quickly, so I'm guessing it was also delicious. 3 of our party of 4 ordered the fish pie and it was fantastic! It's not something we can get back home, so it was a bit of a novelty for us, and the flavors were amazing. The potatoes on top were fluffy yet slightly crispy from the oven and the filling was large chunks of fish and shrimp with a nice creamy sauce.Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert, but I'll be back next time I'm in London!

Under new management and already flourishing! The food is superb, service friendly and knowledgeable and the atmosphere relaxed and vintage. Its a great spot for lunch or dinner and the seafood is a must, as is the shepherds pie!

Poor management, really rude supervisor, he over charged me, and when I went to talk to him about it he made sure the other costumers didn't hear what happened because he probably wanted to over charge them as well. Would never come again and i'd strongly advice you not to.

We dropped in here after a disappointing day doing the tourist thing at Windsor Castle. Pretty tired and hungry after a 45 minute bus ride with a very, very loud child. We were quickly seated when we walked in but we were beginning to wonder whether we had left our invisibility decoder rings on after no one showed up for about 10 minutes or so. Finally, a lovely but apparently fairly inexperienced waitress showed up. As with almost every service person we have run into on this trip, she seemed to be from eastern Europe and her English was ok but we got through it. The meal was tasty, perhaps the richest wedge salad I have ever had and a Shepard's pie that unfortunately reminded me of a (albeit very tasty) sloppy joe mix covered in mashed potatoes. Added a couple of coffees and a bottle of sparkling water and it came to about 60 pounds. As usual, I checked the bill and a 12.5% "service charge" had been added. Americans be aware if you tip. Considering the neighborhood it was a reasonable place to eat.

I ate here out of desperation with a few friends this evening. We were seated right away and had to wait for a few minutes while the table was set. This was no big deal; however, things went downhill quickly. My friend ordered a mojito, which was subpar. The server brought us water but never asked if my other friend or I wanted something other than water. When we finally ordered our food (it took us awhile because we had our mouths set for something else, but the pubs were all really crowded), the server was very short and seemed really inconvenienced by our presence. I originally ordered the chicken parmigiana but changed my mind because it didn't come with any sides. This is probably an American thing to have that dish served with pasta, but this one didn't even come with vegetables. So after my second friend ordered a fish dish, I told the server that I had changed my mind and wanted the steak and frites (what I actually said was, "I'll have the same thing that my friend is having," pointing to my friend sitting beside me). She barely acknowledged that I had changed my order and didn't even ask how I wanted my steak cooked. Our food came out pretty quickly, but the server got our order wrong. She never put in that my friend wanted the fish and instead brought out the chicken parmigiana and two steaks. When she tried to give me the chicken, I reminded her that I had changed my order to the steak. She was very confused. My poor friend was so tired and hungry that she told the server to just give her the chicken if they hadn't started the fish. The server confirmed that they hadn't cooked the fish at all. She tried to appease my friend by saying that the fish could be cooked quickly, but it was too late. The steak was weirdly tender considering that it was thin and overcooked (I say overcooked, but for me anything past rare is burnt), but it was extremely bland. My friend and I put additional salt and pepper on it and even added some butter just because. The only saving graces to this meal were that the service was already included and we found a lovely place just down the street for dessert. After several people cycled through the table next to us and were very friendly with the waitstaff and the owner, we realised after a little while at Motcombs that we were the only diners in the restaurant being treated shabbily. Our server even offered to take the coats and bags of a couple who came in and were seated at a table near ours. I suspect this is because we were Americans, but I really have no idea. There's clearly something amiss at this restaurant. I would not go back, and I wouldn't recommend it to others.

Service was lovely and a perfectly good spot to dine alone instead of room service or the lobby restaurant.Dover sole special was tasty but overpriced. Tomato mozzarella avocado tower was good not great. Service was a true delight though.

Ate alone here last night, seems like a very traditional English restaurant, almost feels like a club.Nice bar area upstairs, some tables upstairs which seem to be kept for regulars.I was seated downstairs, which was fine, a bit tired on the decor.I had a steak and a green salad. Steak was good, well cooked, requested rare, but should have been rested longer. Salad was good, nice selection of leaves and well dressed.Staff were quite old school, but very nice.
