Service is very slow and not attentive.
Miss the old owner Stanley. Food was hot and made to order. My order was not correct and ended up leaving after waiting nearly 30 minutes.

Best vibe, best food, best people best everything I love this place. I'm so glad they survived Covid quarantines The new people are very nice although because I'm an old lady of course I miss the older folks But I'm grateful that they're still in the neighborhood still delivering high-quality wonderful meals and still employing people. It's really a great business please let's keep it here for generations to come It really has a 70s vibe and reminds you of the old days when people were really friendly and fun

I have been goin there since I was 14 with the original owners I got some food today food was bacon could be cooked longer but I'm most disappointed in the inflation in prices for granddaddy mo you were paying 7- 8 bucks now there charging 15.89 ridiculous for that price they should include a drink if that's the case I really miss the or owners I will not be returning this is very sad

New management is super friendly and ambitious! They're rolling out some menu additions in the coming year but keeping all the Mo's classics

I've passed by Mo's Midtown so many times over the years, I just went in for the first time for breakfast on Sunday. My friend and I met here at around 11:30, it wasn't very busy at all. Right as you walk in you can tell they've been around for a long time. It looks very 90s, not to mention there's a ton of rewards on the walls from the past 20 years. They have a nice variety of breakfast options to choose from, pancakes, waffles, omelettes and more. I got the Wild Western Omelette. It came with home fries. This omelette is made with three eggs, American cheese, ham, onion, and peppers, I asked them to add mushroom. My friend got the Huevos rancheros. I also got coffee. Our food was ready pretty quickly. As expected the portions were huge. My omelette was delicious. The cheese was melty, there was plenty of ham, peppers and mushroom. I could do without the potatoes, just because it was a large portion. The service was friendly and fast, even the owner came to chat with us, and asked how everything is. I feel like if they did a bit of upgrading on the inside this place might get a lot more attention. Otherwise I have no complaints.

Mo's is a local long storied establishment in the West End of Hartford. When you walk in you're taken back to an old fashioned breakfast and lunch place with high booths and a breakfast counter where you can see the cook make your omelette and pancakes in front of you. The ownership just changed this month and the quality of food is good. One of the things that I rarely see on menu is huevos rancheros in the high end restaurants but I was delighted to see it on this menu. I like my two eggs slightly runny, and they made it perfectly. Service was fast. The owner was walking around greeting guests. the omelettes were large and so were the pancake stacks that I saw on other peoples plates. The prices are very very inexpensive so it's a hidden gem for so many reasons. I think I have found my new brunch spot!
Be the first to ReplyI loved Mo's in the 90s and was a regular.
They say you can never go back. And sometimes you don't want to! The "award" plaques on the walls are all over a decade old. I asked about gluten free options and was told there was none. None. They don't do gluten free. Indeed, it was like going back 25 years. But not in a good way. The menu was the same. Place looked mostly the same. But who shuns a diner with a food need these days. Hard. Hard. Hard. Hard. Pass.

My go-to breakfast spot in the WeHa/Hartford area- a West End Gem! The pancakes are BOMB and the omelettes are unreal. I swear this place is the best breakfast around!

..It is mind boggling to me that this place is overlooked, because in my mind, it is everything a fine eating establishment should be.They have excellent clientele, they cater to all manners of people, (for better or for worse) and their soap actually tastes like soap.I'll get straight to the point with this review: I ordered the Buttermilk Pancakes (a classic among common occupants Mo's) and the Corned Beef Hash. The pancakes had a fascinating batter that - to this day - continues to amaze me. It is clear to see that the food is made with the same love and attention that a dog with herpes has to his children, I.E. A lot.I have been going to Mo's for years now but only recently thought to write an honest review about it.The waiting staff is indescribably decent and the chef masterminds clearly know what they're doing. (Next time I plan on watching their craft and taking notes.)If you ever end up entering this fine establishment, order the "Mama Mo", it reminds me of my own mother and her supple and epigrammatic skin. Please give them a shot, every time I go there it's like the food makes love in my mouth.5/5Would certainly recommend- Loe Granola

Real hometown atmosphere, cozy and a place where everybody knows your name. Best pancakes no matter what you put in it. I love the fresh fruit pancakes. Bacon nice and crispy, sandwiches tasty, and if they have any homemade soup left always hits the spot. A lot of heart can be found at Mo's in the food because ingredients are always fresh and handpicked and inspected by the owner. A lot to be said for a hometown mainstay that is surviving and still providing great food during the pandemic.
Be the first to ReplyMo's has really gone down hill.
The place itself feels somewhat dilapidated. The efficient women who used to run it are gone and the all-male crew is messy, indifferent and inattentive. Two of us were in a booth and had to get up and get the attention of the short order cook to get our breakfast and coffee. The heavy china and stainless steel flatware are gone; everything is served on paper plates with the cheapest imaginable plastic knives, forks and spoons -- so flimsy that mine broke and bent just cutting the sausage patty. That said, the food itself is still the same -- good serviceable diner grub.A shame to see a wonderful neighborhood landmark so poorly managed.

I try to stop by Mo's whenever I'm in Hartford; which is few and far between. But nevertheless, this cosy breakfast spot is worth it. I had the buttermilk pancakes with a side of bacon. The pancake had a hint of cinnamon in the batter and was the perfect size: as large as my appetite. The bacon was nice and crispy. Overall I enjoyed my breakfast. Lastly, the waiters and restaurant owner were super accommodating and friendly. I'll make sure to stop by Mo's again the next time I'm in town.

Great little breakfast spot! Very reasonable prices with large portions! I do breakfast often, and Mo's is another one of my favorite go to places. Also, thanks to Stanley and his staff for always treating me real well!

My neighborhood breakfast spot. Have been going here for years. Great food, great people. Try the mama mo.
Be the first to ReplyA great find right in downtown, on the way to the West End.
..only a few blocks from Elizabeth Rose Garden.Small place, family run....eggs benedict, only $7.75 were perfect, yolk medium hard as requested...Easily equal to other places' $15 versions...Pancakes were very large and only $5.25 for two, and you can mix flavors...we had blueberry and chocolate chip. Three eggs, bacon, toast and hash browns were also outstanding. This is the kind of place that defines a local neighborhood, and most out of towners might miss..DON'T

Terrible service! The waiter did not smile once while taking our order and even rolled his eyes mid way through our order when we changed the type of toast we wanted. Other then the small portions the food was great.
Be the first to ReplyA little more weathered than I remember from twenty or so
A little more weathered than I remember from twenty or so years ago. Then very eclectic and the menu seemed to have a little more pizzazz.Today, the menu is still very appetizing. The service pleasant and quick to serve. I asked for a decaf coffee and I got a "nope," so I decided the caffeine tank could stand a little more. Then my order taken. With a cup of Joe in-hand, I enjoyed the scenery: The action behind the counter, close calls in and out of the kitchen, and booths were full with families and friends. My counter space was ample; just the way I like it. Before I could blink, my "McMo" breakfast sandwich was in front of me. An egg, yoke cracked, crispy bacon, smothered with a layer of gooey provolone on a grilled hard roll, then a swirl of ketchup.Mo's is a small breakfast/brunch cafe and worth a stop. So, if you're in the mood for a good hot breakfast Mo's is a great option.
Be the first to ReplyHard to find a good breakfast joint in Hartford nowadays.
Mo's fits the bill. Food is consistently good. Fast service. It is not gonna blow your hair back with some creative gastro pub fare. That is kinda the point to a breakfast joint.
Be the first to ReplyI am not sure why this place high rating.
we were there this weekend and everything was very dirty. Veggies in veggie omlet were almost raw even though we asked to be well done. On top of everything you get an attitude from waiters. We were very disappointed.
