We happened to visit this restaurant on our 1st night in Maui, and we ended our vacation here as well! The food is super delicious and the service is superb!! If you visit (and you really should) try the mai tais!! The best on the island for sure, and we tried them all all over the island!! :) our favorite dish was the lamb kebob. Super delicious!! Enjoy!!

Always delicious, and a fantastic place to have a sunset dinner. One of our first choices for a romantic night out.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely delicious food.
We had butter chicken and chicken korma. Cheese and garlic naan, and veggie samosas. We arrived after dark, but the location is right on the ocean, and I'm sure would have an amazing view. Super sweet waitress.

Monsoon India has authentic Indian food that is so tasty and made with quality products. The ambiance on the ocean, with incredible sunsets, is a must-experience. I come again and again; the service is excellent. I give it a 10-plus review.
Be the first to ReplyBreakfast review.
My wife was kayaking by Menehune Shores so I stopped in for breakfast. Prices were high, but I was there and I was hungry. I ordered the bagel and lox along with a latte. You order at the bar, grab your number, get some silverware and ice water at the table against the wall and seat yourself. The view is outstanding. The latte arrived and was a decent latte, though no "artwork" in the foam, which is kind of a standard practice at most coffee shops. The bagel came out and, WTF? It was loaded down with sprouts. Sprouts have a very strong taste and these overwhelmed the bagel. The sprouts were on top of the lox, and a few capers and onion bits sat on the sprouts. I carefully picked them out, removed the sprouts, and noted that the cream cheese had been herbed, there was a small slice of smoked salmon (lox) on each bagel, then I put the minimal capers and onion slices back on. This was no $18.00 bagel, folks. In Manhattan, Seattle, Dubai, take your pick, an $18.00 bagel has plain cream cheese, a solid amount of lox, topped with plenty of sliced onions and capers. With an expensive latte and a tip, I was in for over $30. On the way out I told the bartender and hostess that I was let down. A German (I think?) woman came over, turns out she's the owner or manager of the breakfast session. I explained what I've just written here and she merely said she would make a note of it. No apology, no offer to make things right. So if you order a bagel and it comes loaded with sprouts, know that they don't care! BTW, we still love coming here for dinner. Great Indian food!!!

We enjoyed a birthday dinner with friends at this oceanfront restaurant and had a great meal. There are so many options to choose from, it was difficult to decide, but selected the lamb Tandoori, which was delicious and surprisingly tender. I also tried the meat samosas which were loaded with filling and came with two delicious sauces. I tried a couple of naan breads, garlic and cheese filled, and both were very good. The yogurt sauce helped to cool the mouth from the spicy food. Next time I will try a curry dish. Some of the other diners ordered the mango and pineapple lassi drinks which looks really appetizing. All in all everybody ate, their fill with no complaints. The food was really good and hot. You can select your level of spiciness. The location is great, being right at the oceanfront, with a great view of the sunset. The table service for our table of eight was a little awkward, but worked out OK. The staff really tried hard to make our night special, and we were even able to use our Yelp bonus for checking in!

Monsoon remains the best Indian cuisine on the Island of Maui. The Sunset views are spectacular. Its recently updated decor creates a comfortable setting. It is a legend on Maui.

This our second time having dinner at Monsoon since their change of dinner only. The food remains excellent however the service have drastically deteriorated with untrained servers and unable to split bills as well as slow service. We practically finish our main meal when we got our ice tea and Diet Coke. Hoping they'll get better and training is desperately needed. Jan 2,2024
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely horrible service.
It took almost 20 minutes after being seated to be acknowledged, and another 40 minutes to get our drinks, which were basic (a Diet Coke which was served in a can, an iced tea, a mango lassi, and a chai). My Mangolicious mixed drink allegedly had vodka and champagne in it as well as mango purée and lime, but it didn't taste like it had any alcohol in it despite the $13 price. It tasted more like an over-priced mango smoothie. My son's $8 mango lassi was served room temperature telling me it was sitting for quite some time before we got it. I'm hoping he doesn't get sick tonight because yogurt should be consumed cold. My daughter is a major chai enthusiast- she has a blog on the best chai's around the world, so she knows her stuff. She had a hard time drinking this one. She said it was one of the worst she's had. When the food finally came (well over an hour after we ordered), it was decent, not amazing. Our Bhaji appetizer was soggy and not crispy, under seasoned, and tasteless. Even a little salt would have given it some flavor. The cilantro sauce accompanying it helped a bit. The "bread basket" (naan assortment) was tasty. I wish I could've tried the garlic naan but my family devoured it. *I will say, the strangest thing about the meal was that the waitress took it upon herself to cancel my side order of Garlic naan without telling me. When I asked why it never came out with my entree, she said she decided I didn't need it since we had ordered the bread basket earlier. The reason WHY I didn't take the garlic naan from the assortment for the family was BECAUSE I ordered a side of it to have with my meal. Then when I was told she cancelled my order, I had already missed out on having it. She should've asked if I wanted it instead of changing my order. The Chicken Tikka Masala sauce was nicely seasoned. There was a medium heat to it, however the chicken chunks were overdone making them tough and dry. The dish itself ($22) was over-priced considering the portion was small and it only had chicken pieces. Also, because it's served ala-carte, the basmati rice (which was plain, despite the description) was an additional $4. All-in-all, the food taste itself was not too bad, but the painfully slow service from start to finish does not make it a place we will return to. The icing on the cake was the 18% gratuity automatically added on for any parties of 4 or more, AND they add on a 4% kitchen appreciation fee on top of that! The service was not worth 22%.

We always have great service. The food is always soo flavorful and delicious! The ambiance is second to none with the huge windows that give you a perfect line of site to the ocean (20' away) and sunset.

We came around 6 pm on a Sunday and it had a few parties but was't too crowded. There's a great open view of the water, which is great during sunset (but it gets a little windy for sure).I got the chicken tikka masala with naan, and split a rice with my friend. It was pretty good! Loved the flavors, the naan had a nice crunch (and was a generous amount). I just wish the chicken was more tender. Also must add: I LOVED that I could make the masala itself vegan. It's often hard for me to eat certain Indian dishes because of the dairy in the cream, so I was very impressed that they had the option to make it non-dairy.

From a vegetarian's POV:View: 1,000,000 stars; located next to beach - you have a wonderful view of the water with boats going by (makes up for the other points taken away below).*Also has a sports bar feel with TVs and large bar area. *Kadhi Paneer: good *Palak/Saag Paneer: we ordered mild and it was barely spiced but bubbling hot so I'll let it go.*Basmati rice (with cumin/cardamom): below average it was basic rice *Naan: good.Service: cold and barely there. Service staff looked like it was a headache to be serving. The view is amazing but with open windows the food becomes cold very quickly.
Be the first to ReplyGreat location and view right on the beach.
Quite pricey (as expected for location) and small portions, however, delicious!

Tried Monsoon based on reviews and it didn't disappoint! Had a long day, so I ordered door dash delivery. I got updates on the process and the food was delivered on time and hot. I wish I had pictures to share, but it smelled so good I just dove in and ate :) If there were pics, it would show plain naan, rice, chili panner, and mattar panner (requested spicy). Perfectly seasoned with flavorful heat, as requested. Best Indian I have had in a while - Cant wait to be back in the area to try something else on the menu :)

We discovered Mansoon India on our very first trip to Maui, few years ago. Since then every time we visit the island we go to Mansoon India at least twice on each trip. This year was no different. They have gorgeous dining views, especially during the sunset. This place gets very busy and don't accept same day reservations so make a reservation a day or two prior. Food is great too and they have various veg and non-veg options to choose from. Truly a hidden gem in Maui.

I am a very picky eater but let me tell you I absolutely loved this place. The only restaurant on Maui I went to twice in one week because I couldn't leave without eating it again. If I could do more than 5 stars I would.
Be the first to ReplyPersonally I liked the food.
The chicken was good, the vegetarian dishes were good. Lastly the Rose Lassi was really good. Definetly recommend. Service was okay though.

If you are looking for good Indian food in Maui would definitely recommend this place. Great location and decent food - after a long tiring trip stopped here for dinner and it didn't disappoint us. Very friendly staff, on request surprised my husband with a delicious cake on his birthday and they got the all people in the restaurant to sing a birthday song for him which was sweet :)
