Mizuna Denver Reviews from The Last Year
Fantastic dining experience (but pricey)
Fantastic dinner. We did the Chef tasting menu. A bit pricey ($150 each) but the service and food were both wonderful. Very unique flavors. Customized a bit to what we preferred and we loved every bite. The wine pairings were a bit underwhelming as we got like four 3 oz pours for $120.
Hip and lovely spot tucked away on a side street.
Great selection of food with some exotic choices that would make for a nice date night. Quite expensive though, and while the food was good it wasn't comensurate with the price. Worth trying to judge for yourself.

Service remains outstanding, but food has slipped tremendously. This place isn't even close to what it used to be.
7 years ago, I visited Mizuna and gave them 5 stars.
It was an amazing dinner. Yesterday, my wife and I visited again. Again, we ordered the chef's tasting menu. This time, the fish entrees were just alright but most was very good. The service was great. Here's the problem. They are now tacking on a 22% fee to ensure every employee gets a tip... literally, every employee as our server explained. If we got horrible service... yep, still giving them 22% on top of the bill! I like using my own "voice" to say if I liked the service. I bussed tables as a teen. If I upset a server, they didn't share tips with me. I learned real quick. I prefer the old model over the new one that automatically imposes a 22% regardless. So, I can't recommend Mizuna anymore.

We went here for the first time tonight and had such a wonderful experience. The staff was beyond accommodating as we somewhat unexpectedly ended up dining with our two year old and our server, Nate, along with the entire staff (including the head chef) worked the whole time to ensure we all had a special and memorable experience. We did the chefs coastal tasting and every plate was divine! They did special things to include our kiddo throughout the process and it was overall just a great dinner to remember. Thanks to all the folks at Mizuna for making our night so delicious and so special!

Service was good, the food is average and the prices are INSANE for what you are getting. WARNING- If you are a party of 6 or more you get NO choice on what you want to order. Once we sat down we were told you don't get a choice, you have to have the 10 course meal. Does their website mention this? No! Do they tell you that when you book your reservation? No! Here's what it says from their website "Three Course $125 (Choose 1 course from each category) / Chef's Tasting Menu $145 / Coastal Tasting Menu $165". NO MENTION that if you are party of 6 or more you don't get a choice! We said we really don't want a 10 course meal could we please just do the 3 course meal and they said No! We had people in our group with certain food allergies and preferences and the kitchen was accommodating but the whole thing felt like a scam. We were celebrating a friends bday and she picked the place so we felt stuck. Reluctantly we agreed and the waiter asked which menu would we like - coastal or chef. We asked for a printed menu so we could see what each menu provided and they said they didn't have menus. What restaurant doesn't have a menu? They had a wine menu but no menu for the food? The waiter told us what was on the seafood menu but he didn't know all the items on the chefs menu so we just threw caution to the wind and ordered both. One of the dishes that someone at our table received was 4 slices of a Granny Smith apple!!! 4 slices of an apple???? Come on owner Frank B., don't you value your guests? It's an insult to charge us for such a dish and call it gourmet. At the end of the night our bill was about $1,600 for 6 people. This included one bottle of wine and 1 Cocktail and a Soda. The food was average, the service was fine and the price is so incredibly wrong for what you got, 10 tablespoons of food with little creativity besides the dessert.
Best restaurant I've ever been to.
Chefs tasting menu and wine pairing was phenomenal. Staff was great!!
I had an amazing experience at Mizuna for a first time
I had an amazing experience at Mizuna for a first time visit. I was traveling solo to Denver and wanted a fine dining experience and got exactly what I wanted. The portions were small, but perfect for me and I had a great view of the kitchen which I enjoyed. I didn't get my server's name, but he was FANTASTIC! I needed the food slowed down he did it, I wanted pairing recommendations, got them, changes to the Chef's menu, done. And he was just an overall joy of a person! They even gave me some cookies and muffins in a cute bag when I was done. The food was delicious, but I feel like maybe I'm not a fan of grouper (lol), the beef wellington was life-changing. Would definitely go back.

Came here with a group of 8 last night and had tony as our server. Food was delicious and ambiance was cozy and calming. The service was top notch and it felt like a great experience. We had 3 chefs tasting menu which was land and sea and 5 coastal tasting menus. I personally would want the coastal next time! I was a bit jealous of the choices. All the cocktails we tried were great and we got a goody bag of chocolate, muffins and cookies to go! Only thing that would make this better if there was validated parking.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.

Reservations could be posted for a variety of reasons. Most likely, the person who secured the reservation can no longer attend - to avoid accruing a "no show" fee, they can find someone to take their place.
