I have never been so disappointed by a Michelin star recommendation. Not only was the food way overpriced, it was mediocre at best.
I ordered the Char Siu Pork (at $45), Chicken Wings (at $15) , Char Siu Chow Fun (at $24), Jiu's Hoho Housemade Pantry and Charcuterie: Spiced Salami (Start of Autumn cocktail (at $15)
On top of the mediocre food, the staff rushed us to order and we were told the kitchen does not take single orders and only wants the complete ticket. I wanted to order two things to start off with and continuously add to my order but instead I was forced to list off an absurd amount based on what the wait staff recommended I ordered for a party of two (she had recommended I order 5 different dishes) I ended up ordering a number of them in hopes that I didn't order too much or too little because they did not want to add anything else to the ticket.
The only reason I'm giving it a two-star is because the food was edible. You are much better off exploring the rest of Chinatown SF and getting it from the cheaper ma and pa shops. The food is equally as salty and less expensive
TLDR: Went to Michelin star restaurant only to be disappointed in the service and food. The food itself wasn't bad to but it definitely was not worth $140+ I would say it was mediocre at best. The plating was immaculate so it made for a good photoshoot. This is definitely going into the list of things I regret spending my money on.
