Yes, but.
.....(American in England) Food yes. Decent quality. Service. Absolutely. Manager talked with us a bit and the rest of the wait staff was efficient and friendly. Here is the loss of quality. The venue. It looks like a stage setting that was left a bit undone and no one was coming back to finish it. Exposed ceiling with cobwebs. Using the entrance as a chair storage area. We turned around when coming in, thinking we had found an emergency exit. Plexi glass that was most likely put up during Covid, super glues and cracked in places. Sticky old menus. Little things that took you out of the moment. Good. Ribs are amazing. Had a tasting plate. Chicken was a bit dry. Steak had no seasoning. Onion rings most likely from a freezer bag. Husband had a fillet. Said it was cut strangely and ended up with a mouth full of fat at one point. The vegetable highlight was the snap peas and broccoli. Drinks, draft cider, glass of red wine and had the manager surprise me with a cocktail. Watermelon tropical punch. Refreshing. Decent, slightly expensive. Conclusion - wouldn't go back to this location, but would try the chain again. (American in England)
Be the first to ReplyI'm always a sucker for the getting something automatically
I'm always a sucker for the getting something automatically with my steak. It can be whatever: a potato, some frites (yes I'm trendy), even a "side salad". Middletons is tops in this department, where you get a little sumpin-sumpin with most mains. Go overboard with pork belly, prawns, and croquettes to start. A diverse drink menu will keep things sparkly bold or spicy. The strip will typically be my choice, and it was no different this time. It had good flavor and they keep medium rare medium rare. Sweet potato fries were crispy and tasty, and creamed spinach wasn't lacking in the cream (somewhere was some spinach in there I think). Of course I got my tomato, which is always the great tradition, and grilled was an interesting variation. Efficient, friendly service and nice atmosphere rounded out a nice visit. I'm sure I'll return since the office is down the street.

After a tasteless "posh pub" meal the night before, our first Middleton's experience was... better. But we probably won't bother returning. What they do right: Seat customers right away, have plenty of delightful staff who make actual eye contact, tend to your every need, never let your drinks get low, and serve up your starters and mains impressively quickly. The croquette starter was tasty, the root salad fresh and tasty, the side green veggies cooked just the right amount. What they do wrong: Try to merit too-high prices of so-so food with a snazzy decor, heavily populated dining room, and great service. It's not enough. For one, the staff was a bit too helpful: we must've been visited by 7 different people during our meal, some of which repeated the same questions, and once I was asked about 4 times whether I really, truly did want to drink ONLY water and my husband and I were asked 3 times whether we wanted to add sauces to our steaks, the staff seemed to be desperately trying to upsell. It was definitely annoying and off-putting. The prawn cocktail was bland, and our filet steaks were nothing to write home about. We both ordered "medium well." My husband's was medium; mine was well done--and terribly dry. No properly cooked steak should require a sauce to make it edible. And the side jacket potato was tasteless. All in all, there's no reason to return, especially for steak at this "steakhouse." The food was edible, we filled up, but the highlight was our waitress's smile, and £70 is a lot to pay for friendliness...
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant was near my hotel and I smelled the steak
This restaurant was near my hotel and I smelled the steak every night as I walked in, so I really wanted to try one of their steaks. With it being a steak house, I decided the ribs should be good as well. So I ordered the Steak and Sticky: your choice if either sirloin or ribeye and a half rack of ribs. My waitress suggested the sweet potato fries, so I ordered that as my side. Apparently I got the last order of ribs, as I heard my waitress telling later customers around me that they were sold out. That may explain why I received four actual ribs and then a pile of shredded meat in sauce instead of a neat half rack. This is not a complaint on my part, as the shreds were actually more flavorful and had sufficient amounts of sauce; I point that out just in case you are in the same situation. If it matters that you have actual bones with meat, you may be disappointed later in the evening....and they CAN run out. My steak was very average. For the price charged and this being a dedicated steak restaurant, I actually expected better. It was average size, but a very thin cut. If you prefer more well done, you may like it more than I did. But I prefer medium rare, with some red in the middle; which is difficult to achieve with such a thinly cut steak. The sweet potato fries were exactly what I'd expect: sweet and crispy. They were good, but only met my expectations. Overall, certainly not a bad meal, but not what I expected from a restaurant specializing in steaks. I would not object to going back, but I would not go out of my way to return.
Be the first to ReplyService was poor and food was mediocre.
You would think a steak house would know how to cook a steak.

The menu is extensive, i had olives bread and calamari for starters. You need this time as you wait for the steak. To be fair i ordered 12oz sirloin and was still hungry, perhaps that is me. Thus came with chips. It would have been better if the steak was presented better, it was a little dull especially if you have to wait. Service is good Desert tasty
Be the first to ReplyThe kangaroo steak was quite nice as was all the food.
The service was slow so only 4 stars but good food!
Be the first to ReplyBest food and service I've had in MK.
Seems like one of the few places around town that are just reheating frozen meals. I would recommend.
Be the first to ReplyQuite a good meal but nothing out of the ordinary.
The decor in this new restaurant is pleasant but not memorable. Staff were good and the prices are reasonable. Nothing much stands out here but it is certainly not a bad place.
