The service was very good.
Wonderful people and good food.
Be the first to ReplyThe Kerala food reminded me of my household food.
Their food is from God's own Country.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was delicious.
I was disappointed they charge for the bread with the meal. The dishes, Chana masala and spinach dish, and cauliflower with potatoes was delicious. The drinks were tasty. The service was quick and eager for refills and bringing the food. The ambiance was nice. The searing is comfortable and the waiters are nice.

The food here is decent but certainly not the best in the city. We came here on a weeknight and the place was very busy. After about 20 minutes of waiting we were seated. The waiter was not very interested in making any recommendations so we ordered the salmon curry and chicken tikka masala. I'm a big fan of Indian food so I enjoyed the dishes but I was not impressed at all. I would have given it more stars if this was just a local Indian joint but due to the hype behind this place I expected better

Hands down, it is the best Indian restaurant on the Westside, within spitting distance of Sony Pictures. It features a range of primarily South Indian specialties such as Dosas and Uttpham and more common selections such as Chicken Tikka Masala. Most of everything is made on the premises and to order, with generous portions of fresh Naan and changes complementing the curries, biryanis, and anything else that you might want; since the dining room is relatively large, there is rarely a wait for a table, with many booths available facilitating dining in comfort. The staff is part of an extended family, amiable and helpful in general, with the owner often popping by to say a few words. Parking is available on the street if the small lot is full. Once you've eaten at Mayuri, you will spolied for anything else.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing food.
Try the tomato onion uttappam, masala dosa and idli. The owner is very sweet. If in LA, do visit here

So good!! It was awesome to have so many gluten free options clearly marked. I had the mushroom and cashew dish and the masala dosa, both delish!
Be the first to ReplyI really liked the food here.
My favorites are Mandi which is very flavorful with excellent service and nice ambiance.

Came here with a friend in a Saturday afternoon after seeing their review on instagram. We were seated immediately although they were super busy. They have comfortable booth seating as well as some tables in chairs in the middle of the restaurant. The place was actually way bigger than I imagined from the outside. After much debate we had the masala dosa. Honestly, that was my favorite item in the menu. We got a spinach one and I kinda wish I got it plain because A. It comes out kind a fine and looks pretty cool and B I like the texture and taste. Other dishes were a little underwhelming but maybe I should have increased the spice level a bit. Either way it was a unique experience and we enjoyed it.
Be the first to ReplyKerala Chicken Curry was so unique and flavorful.
The spices were on point with this one. Also served with a lot of rice. Chicken tikka masala is the usual dish I get across Indian restaurants and this one was probably the best I've had. The chicken was very tender and the sauce had a great balance of spice and creaminess. We tried the Ghee and it was good but probably better for a larger group as it's quite simple. Service here was good and the food came out very quick.

Be the first to ReplyDelicious lunch with wonderful service.
The ghee roast was a treat and the mushroom masala and saag paneer were great. I will be returning. Lovely and spacious restaurant.

Living in LA for 3 years and it's been a staple forever!! Highly recommend to anyone who's craving authentic South Indian food!
Be the first to ReplyBy far my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles.
The food is some of the best I've had in the whole city, it is run by some of the nicest people I've met, and it is truly impossible to beat! This is a must-eat for sure.

My family ate here, and the ambiance was better than a lot of Indian restaurants in the Bay Area. Very busy on a Saturday night with a crowded, small parking lot. I've never seen such a large Indian menu -- Dosas, Southern Indian and Northern cuisines! We started with Bhel Puri, and all enjoyed the fresh flavors. But I had wished they offered extra mint chutney on the side. My son had the chicken tikka masala and I tried it and thought it had good flavor. The dosas were super large with yummy potato masala filling. Service was great, and we were unfortunately too full to try dessert.

Mayura is an LA classic! One of my family members first introduced this place to me as a good option for getting a comfort South Indian meal away from home. The food is authentic and the staff is wonderful and warm. I highly recommend the podi idli. It comes with crispy onions on top and it's delicious! One tip is to stick to the South Indian food when you come here! That's what they specialize in and that's what's best on their menu. If you're looking for a cozy place to experience real Kerala food in LA, come here

This place is really busy on the weekends so plan to wait, we came in at 3pm on a Sunday and waited to be seated. We scoured the buffet but the 35 is honestly absurd! Luckily we could order off the menu and we ended up getting dosa, podi idli, and gobi Manchurian. The dishes were tasty, dosa could have been crispier but idli was the highlight.

Absolutely phenomenal and really reasonable prices! I haven't had such good idly outside of Tamil Nadu.
Be the first to ReplyThe very famous and the only authentic Kerala restaurant
The very famous and the only authentic Kerala restaurant run by a Keralite/malayali family selling some very authentic dishes from the southern Indian state of Kerala. The service was fast and the food was good even on a very busy festive day on the occasion of Vishu. There were so many options, I couldn't even get to desserts, I was so full, happy and content. Meeting Mrs. Padmini was definitely the highlight of my visit, she is so sweet, kind and funny.
Be the first to ReplyThis used to be a decent place to grab South Indian dishes
This used to be a decent place to grab South Indian dishes before Covid. The thali we had last time was the worst I ever had. We still decided to give the restaurant one more try. We ordered Kerala parotta and goat curry. The parottas they served us were frozen and came from packets. (I asked the owner to confirm my suspicions and he said yes). To the owners - please have the minimum decency to inform your customer that the food you are serving is not cooked there and are frozen food reheated. If I wanted frozen food I can go to an Indian grocery store and get myself a packet for 4 dollars. I don't have to spend 6 dollars for 3 porattas.
Be the first to ReplyNot horrible not great.
Atmosphere horrible like eating i a diner or 3rd world country. Service was bad had to wait a long time before ordering. Tika masala wasn't great not as succulent as I've had at other places. Maybe this was the wrong dish ti order here. Mano juice was canned and fullOf sugar. In all the place seemed very disorganized waiters running every where and not really caring about customer. But I really came here for food and that wasn't impressive at least for the dish I had.

Great place in Culver City for authentic Indian food; everything we ordered was great. Would definitely go back.
Be the first to ReplyThis place has the best South Indian cuisine in Los Angeles.
I've been going here since 2011 and it was good back then and it's still good now! Get the chicken vindaloo, if you like spicy food, but they also have traditional Indian dishes (like tikka masala) that are great! They also make the best appam here. Look it up. It's a great tasting fluffy/light pancake/bread side. Owner is incredibly nice, attentive and cares about her customers deeply. She loves making people happy and always has a smile.Great place!
Be the first to ReplyThe food is decent, which is to say it's better than most
The food is decent, which is to say it's better than most Indian in LA (I have high standards as I've lived in places like London and NYC, which are much better for Indian cuisine).Where things really failed was the service. It took 45 minutes to get our food, and when it did come, the wait staff was terse, thoughtless, and seemed to put in zero effort. They delivered the dishes all on a huge platter which they deposited at one end of a too-small table. They then forgot we existed for the remainder of the meal. The ambiance is that your basic LA strip mall joint, which might have some charm if the food were as hyped up as the reviews, and especially if the service had been better. Overall they'd do well to invest in some soft surfaces to dampen the sound as the place gets very loud and echo-y. I'd go back for takeout, as it would remove the poor service and the loud environment from the meal experience.
