Mastro's Ocean Club Los Angeles Reviews from The Last Year
Check out the view then go to In - N-Out
Outstanding view but mediocre food. Lamb was overcooked and dry when asked for med rare. Sent it back and received another horrible piece of meat! Poor service and wait staff and would not recommend this joint. Other than the view as mentioned, I would have enjoyed In -N-Out far more and will not be returning to MASTRO’S as it was a huge disappointment . MASTRO’S, stop blaming COVID for your shortcomings and hire a restaurant renovation team to gain respect again! HORRIBLE x 2.

We went last weekend and they did a special Brunch for Mother's Day. They had a full menu as well carving stations and a full lobster/crab/shrimp bar. The eggs Benedict was delicious. And with every where doing prefixe menus, this was absolutely the best value for the price. I'm not sure if they do brunch every weekend but they should!
If I can do zero stars I'd put zero stars.
.. We waited over 2hrs for our food and when it came out my steak was burned!! And it costed $96 for a burnt steak! Like make that make sense, I would've sent it back but at that point I might as well go home for how long they took to bring the food out like seriously 2hrs?! The plate in front is pork chops which were really pink inside yet also burnt on the outside
Food, service and ambiance are great.
I truly enjoy Mastro's Ocean Club in Malibu overall the other locations.
Amazing service and the food is always delicious.
Highly recommend the mac and cheese
worst service ever.
Wait in an hour for a bottle of wine, the waiter brought us an olive out of his pocket in with his bare hand and plopped into a martini. it goes on and on and on.

We decided to give Mastros another try, this time were warned that their steaks are a bit more red than you'd be use to, this advice was helpful, we went with medium plus and it turned out well. The seafood here is very good , the hamachi is one of the best things on the menu. We also gave the jumbo crab cake a try , it didn't disappoint. They have the best lobster bisque in DTLA, it is better than Capital Grilles lobster bisque , and theirs is very good.

Located across from the convention center, so it can get quite crazy if there's an event going on. Valet parking is $40, however, if you're not in 6 inch heels and don't mind walking, there are cheaper lots nearby ranging from $10-45. The entrance during evening time is very grand and literally like you're about to enter a club, with a classy bouncer outside in a black long coat and security earpiece. Black cars lined up outside. Quite a happening scene. The night I visited, there was live singing the whole evening. The place is luxurious and dark inside. The staff is extremely classy. I'm always amazed at how much weight they carry when bringing out plates of food on one hand- definitely quite a practiced skill. The mixed greens with vinaigrette was nothing special; the house bread was pretty good- the crunchy Parmesan bread was way too salty, the other three options were much better; the steak arrives in a very hot plate so the steak continues to cook as it sits in front you- ordered my filet medium rare and it was not as bloody as I expected but definitely tender and delicious; the sides come family style- cream corn/broccoli/mashed potatoes were all good, however I expected much more from the mashed potatoes, it was not as buttery as it used to be; the pork chops are actually very good and tender- very thick cut so you can choose how cooked you'd like it to be, even though it's pork; the mixed drinks are delicious; definitely try their signature warm butter cake- comes with ice cream on top; cheesecake is good too. Ordered a decaf mocha latte to end the night and it was superb.

We visit the restaurant on 4/5, we decided to dine at the bar area because it feels more happening as the main dining area was empty. The lady who served us was rude. When we told her the sea bass tastes fishy and dry, she replied "I didn't make it", we were speechless, lol. The dish came with no sauce or any decoration, it just look so unappealing. We booked the reservation on open table stated the occasion was for birthday, Server didn't even ask us about it. I am a frequent visitor at mastro's, this by far the worst experience.

Great Evening with business colleagues
Beautiful sunset made this business dinner fabulous. Seafood Tower was amazing and barely left room for dinner. The bone in rib-eye was cooked perfectly and the table side martini was a nice added touch.
Steak excellent, service below average
The steak was cooked beautifully, and rested , Service very patchy , slow and forgetful, Food great , service needs to be better
OUTSTANDING
The atmosphere is amazing, the waitresses were all very nice and accommodating and professional, food is excellent and the plates are big! Highly recommended
Disappointing
Been here many, many times over the years, but tonight was way below par. Bar staff busy, yes, but so inattentive! Took the wrong order. When the food came, steak was OK but sauce was tepid and Brussels sprouts, inedible. Completely raw on the inside and burnt (not charred) on the outside. The whole experience was really poor. Shame.
Excellent Dinner and Service, had to wait 30 minutes past our reservation time
Wife and I were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and decided to do a weekend in LA, with dinner on the ocean at Mastro's. We had a 7:45 reservation and arrived at 7:15. We weren't sure how bad traffic would be and figured we would check in early and enjoy the views of the ocean. Technically, you can park on PCH 1 for free but mostly the option is to valet for $15. We got checked in and were told it would be closer to 7:45 (which is fine because that was our time) and to either enjoy the bar or wait and they would call us when ready. There was no room at the bar so we went outside. When it got to be about 7:50 I checked with the hostess to see how things were looking and was told "We still have to sit two 7:30 parties, then you are the first 7:45 to be seated so it should be shortly". It was clearly very busy as at no time did seating at the bar open up. Around 8:05 the hostess brought my wife and I a free glass of champagne (very nice) and apologized for the wait and said we would be seated shortly. Finally at 8:15 we were seated. Once seated, service was excellent. The views of the ocean are very nice. Bread and drinks were brought right away. We splurged and ordered a lot of stuff. Market price was $150 for caviar, which we had. Market price for scallops wound up being about $50 for 4 scallops. Both were worth it. Probably the best scallops I've ever eaten. We also tried the brussels sprouts (good but I've had better and wouldn't get again), chopped salad (very good and pretty large), Lobster Mashed Potatoes (although you do get A LOT of lobster, I wish we would've gotten the lobster Mac n Cheese instead and wouldn't get the mashed again). For the main courses we got Sea Bass (excellent) and the Double Cut Pork Chop (also excellent). We just couldn't do dessert as we had too much food for the two of us. Overall, 30 minutes past reservation time is the only thing that held me back from 5 stars. The free glasses of champaign were very nice and I can accept 15 minutes or so past reservation time but 30 is a lot to be sitting around (especially since all the seating is outside and it was getting cold at that point). It also caused us to miss out on half an hour of ocean views as it got dark shortly after we seated. All that said, we'll probably go back since a lot of the food was so darn good.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
