Macchialina Miami Beach Reviews from The Last Year
We had an absolutely wonderful date night at Macchialina!
We had an absolutely wonderful date night at Macchialina! I've been wanting to try Macchialina for ages, and we finally got the opportunity. It caught my eye months before, when I happened to be walking by and saw all of the tables full and lining the sidewalk. I thought based on how full the restaurant was, it must be good! These sidewalk tables were what I had been thinking all along were the "patio tables", but man was I mistaken! We reserved a patio table on a Sunday evening, and we were led to our table through this gorgeous and seemingly enchanted back patio away from the sidewalk and passersby. You'd never know it was there! It's covered in case of weather and has a cozy and romantic ambiance to it. We were promptly greeted by our attentive server and ordered a bottle of wine. Their wine selection is vast - many regions, varietals, and prices. All of the food we got was excellent. We started with a meat and cheese plate which our server assisted in making recommendations for. This came with these puffed rolls, which were fluffy and moist, very different from your typical dinner roll in the best way! We also ordered the polenta as an appetizer, but this ended up coming out after our entrees, so it was more of a side dish. It was super creamy and had big chunks of mushrooms in it. For entrees, we ordered a lasagna that was on special and the Tagliolini with the truffle add-on. Both dishes were AMAZING but on the smaller side. Macchialina doesn't seem to be one of those restaurants where you get a massive bowl of pasta, but rather, in true Italian fashion, the pasta is a smaller first course followed by an entree. The lasagna had so many layers and a great flavor. The truffle add-on to the Tagliolini was expensive ($45) but well worth it and plentiful! It was a hearty portion of black truffle, and it added immense flavor to the dish. The truffle add-on is only available for certain dishes, which I liked because it shows the restaurant takes care and consideration into where it will compliment best, rather than just dumping it onto anything and everything. For dessert we got the banana bread pudding which was served with what looked like ice cream, but upon tasting it was not ice cream but rather a cream of sorts. Very delicious and decadent, perfect sharing size! I loved Macchialina and thought it totally lived up to the hype. Despite our polenta not coming out at the appropriate time, I still think they're deserving of five stars, and I can't wait to go back.
My goodness this place is wonderful! Every single dish we
My goodness this place is wonderful! Every single dish we had was just so delicious we wanted more. We tried the four course chef menu, which they brought us the meals that the chef recommended. It was $70 per person which was a great deal, I highly recommend if you are hungry and want a surprise. The best dish was the broccolini al cesare, I just wanted more. It's an intimate and romantic place, so the ambiance was great. As far as parking, it's all street parking. There is a lot right next to the restaurant but that is private, so beware of parking there, they will tow. I'll definitely be back!
Great restaurant.
Attentive wait staff, fun cocktails and incredible pasta. Bread pudding is a must!
We had a wonderful time at Macchialina.
Highly suggest sitting outside. It's gorgeous. We really loved the ambiance. The service was impeccable. They allowed our dog to come. The best part was definitely the food. The cavatelli macchialina is one of the best Italian American dishes I've ever had. The chicken parm was fine. Nothing special. We also really liked their take on tiramisu. We'll definitely be back.
Fabulous Food
Wonderful food and lovely staff. The noise in this restaurant is untenable. Other than that this is a lovely family owned restaurant with very nice clientele.
Not so Italian, but it works
The experience at Macchialina Taverna Rustica was a mix of emotions. On the one hand, it is undeniable that the place is a success, since even on a Monday night it was packed with people. However, there are some aspects that could be significantly improved. The main problem was the noise level, which made conversation and the overall experience difficult. Also, the prices were quite high, averaging around $120 per person, which is a bit steep for what the place offers. Although it is advertised as an Italian restaurant, the American influence is evident in everything from the decor to the food itself. Unfortunately, this fusion does not always work in your favor, as you miss out on some essential characteristics of authentic Italian cuisine. For example, there was no olive oil, no bread, no Parmesan cheese to accompany the pasta on the tables, and there were not even tablecloths, which is in line with the rustic style of the place, but may be disappointing for those looking for a more rustic experience. refined. As for the food, the flavors were normal, without particularly standing out. Nothing out of the ordinary was experienced in terms of taste or presentation, which was a bit disappointing considering the price. In short, Macchialina Taverna Rustica seems to have found the right balance between American and Italian, which may be a major factor in its success. However, for those looking for a more authentic experience of Italian cuisine, this may not be the ideal place.
Amazing experience.
Highly recommended. We shared two pastas, 4 cocktails and the two gelatos of the day. I still dream of the pistachio
No a Michelin restaurant!!
The restaurant is nice but… very noisy , the space is small so you can’t enjoy the meal , Marvin the assistant waiter make the difference for us . Thanks!! The meal overall was average, burrata was good as well the Pomodoro basílico spaghetti The vegetarian plate gnocchi with asparagus don’t taste good. The waiter was very rude when I complained about he meal only said I sorry and turn the back to us!! My second time and last time !
Please open a location in SF, CA.
Please! I could write a novella about the absolute beauty of this restaurant - maybe I'll write a screenplay instead. Suffice to say, the food is so, so effing delicious. *insert chef's kiss and single tear* Do NOT park in the lot next door, unless you are trying to get your dinner partner's car towed...in which case, it's a sure thing.
Highly recommended with attention to quality!
What a nice place with very tasty dishes and personal service. Every dish was tasty and clearly made with love for the ingredients. We had the prosciutto and the burrata as a starter and then a beautiful cavatelli with meatballs. Simply great in terms of taste. The Michelin mention is therefore justified in terms of taste. Furthermore, an energetic atmosphere, a bit on the loud side, but not disturbing. One to remember.
This is one of our most favorite restaurants on the beach.
Food is always solid, strong professional staff, and yummy cocktails . The short rib lasagna melts in your mouth, and all the pastas are home made and delicious. Highly recommend!!
Average food
Average food can’t believe this is a Michelin star restaurant. The food portions is for children/toy dog portions. Pasta is cheap I don’t understand the small portions. Wine is average. Been here 2x and I am done.
Beautiful space with great outdoor/patio seating - perfect
Beautiful space with great outdoor/patio seating - perfect for a lovely dinner! We knew when there were many groups waiting for the restaurant to open at 6pm, we had done well to make a Resy - but also tables filled up quickly short after! We enjoyed our meal - especially the Polenta (creamy homey goodness) and the Chicken Parmesan (which tastes super fresh with the tomatoes, kind of like a bruschetta). Make sure to leave room for dessert - which looked allll so delicious but we were too full!
Everything is good here.
From the cocktails to the service (little snacks brought to us outside while we waited for our table) and the perfectly prepared and presented entrees, we enjoyed our experience. The truffle pasta is probably the BEST thing we ever tasted. The roasted chicken was also spectacular. Fun, great atmosphere and lively.
Macchialina offers a delightful culinary experience with
Macchialina offers a delightful culinary experience with attentive service. Their mortadella and tuna crudo starters tantalize the taste buds, complemented by well-crafted cocktails. While the tagliolini al tartufo nero falls short of expectations, the lively ambiance, though characterized by worn-out furniture and R&B music, adds to the charm of the dining experience.
Yummy Italian
We had a great meal here -- did the tasting menu. We especially loved the amuse bouche pork sandwich and the various pasta dishes. The service was great, especially Marlo!
We were expecting a great experience based on so many
We were expecting a great experience based on so many positive reviews, but unfortunately this place has clearly suffered under all the hype. We had a reservation for the patio - which was quite pretty, but extremely loud and crowded. Service was slow and inattentive. Almost a 3 hour experience in total which would've been fine had it been worth it. The pasta was - just ok. Good but certainly not amazing. Having been to many hip, rustic Italian restaurants in NYC, DC, etc. over the years, this place hardly compares to other spots that get a lot less attention. And hopefully you don't have to use the restroom while you're here, especially if you are seated on the patio. You'll be forced to make your long journey back inside the restaurant, squeezing through the crowd waiting for their tables to a narrow area in the kitchen where you'll have to wait for one of only two bathrooms while constantly dodging staff with plates of hot food. Awful! This is not worth the hype.
A great restaurant for date night or family dinner.
Seating is intimate and they have outdoor dining as well. Fine service throughout dinner. I appreciated the restaurant offered smaller portions of entrees which allowed us to try a few different dishes. The food was fresh. We weren't fans of the texture of the bread pudding. It wasn't a traditional bread pudding recipe.
Do not miss!!!
My husband and I had dinner here on Easter. The restaurant itself was rustic and cozy, but trendy. All the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The menu was not fussy, but it was some of the best Italian I've had. The prosciutto was fabulous! The pasta was clearly homemade and the sauce and meatballs were delicious. The chicken was so moist and tasty. Let's not forget the drinks! The signature cocktails were so good and the wine list impressive. I wish I could have tried everything on the menu! Definitely will be back when we visit again.
Oh my goodness! So delicious!! We ordered the tasting menu
Oh my goodness! So delicious!! We ordered the tasting menu and wine pairing. Vlad was our waiter. He did a fabulous job. The hosts were so sweet and their attire was fun and fashion forward. Loved the whole experience. Most highly recommend!!
Macchialina is one of our favorite spots to eat great food
Macchialina is one of our favorite spots to eat great food in amazing ambiance! The entire team is always so welcoming and you feel so cared for during the entire experience. Shaun the server was so attentive and checked on us the entire time. He gave great recommendations and was eager to explain the dishes and wine options. Can't wait to return!
Service was great, the waitress really knew the menu.
Portions were a bit small. Shared an appetizer, main dish, and dessert. If you are a bigger eater I'd recommend getting the full course or a 2nd main dish. The food was amazing though. I've had this problem elsewhere cheaper but less nice food, so.
Amazing ambience and authentic Italian food!
Amazing vibe and authentic Italian food. The manager and server were very understanding with my allergies and worked with the chef to ensure my dinner was allergy free! The ambiance allows for a vibey experience...great for a date night. Reminded me of my trip to Italy. Seems like a go-to spot for Miami locals. Make a reservation pr you might have to wait! Food: MEDITERRANEAN BRANZINO & TAGLIOLINI AI FUNGHI Drink: PROSECCO, LOVO MILLESIMATO 2022 (Veneto) Signing off, The Allergy Queen
Lasagna . period
Fabulous lasagna! So good! Also the eggplant parm was a delight. Service was good and attentive. Nice ambiance. We had our meal in the garden room in back and it was nice for couples. The restaurant inside was lively and hip. Either way the food was awesome!
A hidden gem
A fantastic hidden gem hole in the wall kind of place. Good wine fresh bread and the cacio e pepe was delisious. Good price for the amazing tastes
A for effort
This very popular restaurant has a hugely contemporary vibe. However, be forewarned that the acoustics are horrendous in the restaurant and you will be screaming above the banter of your surrounding neighbors if you choose to sit inside when the restaurant is to capacity. If you want a hip place then this will probably meet your needs, but if you want to potentially lose hearing capacity in the interest of dining out, then this is the place for you. We were seated 30 minutes after our reservation and although the staff were apologetic, they seemed completely disorganized and the interior is very tight between tables. Our servers were very hospitable and nice, but... was the food so incredibly good that we felt compelled to return? in summary - nope. This Italian restaurant prides itself by having several dishes piled with 10 g of black truffle for $45 per dish (black truffle supplement). I thought this was overdone, silly, and excessive. You don't need 10g of truffle to impart the effect. Was the food good? Yes, but it did not make up for the complete lack of ambiance, late seating, disorganization, and horrific acoustics. Thanks for trying, Macchialina, but we will not return.
The best GF pasta I’ve ever had
This place is clearly a known spot by locals - it’s rammed every night. But for good reason, the service was friendly, the atmosphere was awesome and the drinks were great. Oh, and the food was, well, bloody fantastic. I genuinely think it’s the best GF pasta I’ve ever eaten. I genuinely want to come back to Miami just so I can eat here again.
Welcoming pkace
Welcoming place, friendly staff, the absolutely Italian Manager knows how to pamper her guests, I recommend the Burrata with a delicious melange of tomatoes and spices with an excellent flavor and the Parma Ham.

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

When it says working on bid, it means there are people looking to fill it.
