Roaches on parade
The food was delicious and the service professional and friendly, but not the cockroaches we witnessed climbing around the back of a serving cart. The manager came to look and she claimed that cockroaches and rats are “normal” when sitting on an outdoor patio and we need to get used to it. Really? On what planet?

I'm sure I drove the place nuts as I kept adding people to my party up to the last minute but they didn't seem to mind. Table for 8, sat us the minute we got there. Great waiter, quick service but didn't rush us, friendly menu suggestions and best of all fabulous food. Very cool atmosphere too. I have no suggestions on how to improve!

Beautiful service and great pasta vongole. I arrived on spec to a very busy restaurant but they found space for me
Be the first to ReplyOur best Italian in town !
Simply a real good italian restaurant after much disappointments with more „famous“ adresses. From cocktail, winemenu to food : authentic, delucious !
Be the first to ReplyOver cooked, over priced and over the Table
Previously described by others as “cosy” . We thought it was cramped ! The recommended Tagliatelle was fatty, heavy and over spiced, and with obviously cheap meat. The Maitre D’ could be described as overly familiar, or “ handsy” - pushy, in repeatedly plying the wine even to the non-drinkers in the group and chauvinistic in the billing.
Be the first to ReplyPoor management
Website is misleading and gift card purchase meant for one location can only be used at a different location. This is typical of the poor customer service I’ve received when visiting. Food is great, but management is bureaucratic at best.
Be the first to ReplyTonnarelli cacio e pepe “so good”
The manager she is not really friendly and is not easy to have a table in the night time. I took the tonnarelli cacio e pepe and they were VERY GOOD! I think an experience to do. Really suggested!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Italian
Excellent quality of food. It was all delicious and even exceeded my (very) italian boyfriend's high standards. Waiter was so friendly, as was the rest of the staff. Definitely will come back.
Be the first to ReplyBirthday Dinner
We booked this for my husband’s birthday in a weekend getaway to D.C. The menu looked great upon review, and it was in an area of town we hadn’t been to before. Got there after being in traffic a bit longer than expected, so we were about five minutes late, but when I gave our name to the hostess, she claimed she didn’t see a reservation for us. After a minute or two, I said it was for 6:30pm, and she made a big show of ceiling back up on her screen, saying “oh, here it is”, as if she had to dig for it because we were hours late. Whatever. So then we are escorted to the very corner table outside (plastic tent area outside the main building), which would have been okay had the heaters actually put off heat and the plastic walls gone up to the ceiling, but there was a gap of a few inches at the top, so you were basically just protected from the wind. Again, we were just going to make the best of it, and were happy to be out for dinner. The menu choices looked great, but when they were served, they didn’t deliver on the expectation. My burrata caprese didn’t have much flavor, and when I tasted the butternut squash ravioli, I was instantly overpowered by the taste of ham. The entree had said it was topped with pancetta, which I like. This was definitely just ham, and the smoky flavor took over the dish. Not a fan. My husband liked his salad, but said the pasta didn’t have as much flavor as the thought it would, and it was served lukewarm. Service was pretty spotty; that has been tough everywhere and since both of us work in the hospitality industry, we could overlook that, but when added to everything else…not a place we will visit again. If you’re going to start off at the door with a hostess with an unnecessary attitude, the food better be damn well worth it. It wasn’t.
Be the first to ReplyGreat spot for outdoor dining
Came for a casual business dinner. Very good house-made pasta and cocktails in a relaxing atmosphere with energetic vibe. Service was friendly but pretty laid back. With so many choices in the city, might not come back around to this one for a while.
Be the first to ReplyA great Italian taste of food!
Do you love great food, a nice wine... maybe a cocktail to start? This is the place to be. I stayed in Washington DC for several days, I had dinner every evening in this spot. Just because the food is so good!!! I tried different plates, they all had a high level of quality!!!
Be the first to ReplyThe bug stray was the best part of the meal
If I could give this a negative rating I would Went with my wife and three friends for dinner. Terrible service (a simple dinner took TWO AND A HALF HOURS. Three ordered glasses of wine, which came individually TEN MINUTES APART -- THAT RIGHT, DELIVERED OVER 20 MINUTES AFTER NUMEROUS INQUIRIES BY US. When the last to arrive (ten minutes after the first) sat down, we were immediately asked what we wanted to order, BEFORE HE HAD EVEN LOOKED AT THE MENU. The meal was terrible. Two of the dishes, delivered AFTER WE HAD BEEN SEATED FOR MORE THAN 75 MINUTES IN A HALF EMPTY RESTAURANT WERE COLD and had to be sent back. My "zucchini and shrimp" had THREE MEDIUM SHRIMP AND HARDLY ANY ZUCCHINI. IT WAS A $28 BOWL OF FLAT PASTA IN STORE-BOUGHT PESTO SAUSE. My wife's monk fish was not fish. I do not care what the waiter said, IT WAS NOT FISH. IT WAS SOME KIND OF PORK OR VEAL. I don't care if it is the chef's "specialty", we are seasoned eaters and IT WAS NOT FISH. The waiter knew the meal was terrible, so he brought one tiramisu and five spoons and three limoncello shots. He should have comped half the dinner, but I guess he thought that giving us a dessert no one wanted and three shots were compensation enough. The bill was $286 for CRAP. Oh, and the title of this review. The mosquitoes were so thick that we asked twice for bug stray, which they provided.. You know it is bad when (1) they have bug spray ready because they have a mosquito problem and (2) it was the best thing about the dinner.
Be the first to ReplyNice spot in a fun neighborhood
Grad dinner with our daughter, her roommates and their families…great neighborhood…cool spot with a nice little bar…four apps, a round of drinks, and 11 entrees (everyone got some sort of homemade pasta) was about $700…squash ravioli and Cacio di Pepe we’re standouts, as was scallop app…would go back…also, the bar at lupo pizza (same owners) was great, and their pizza looked/smelled fantastic…metro stop is very close, too - no parking hassles that way.
Be the first to ReplyWow - the food was great
Terrific italian restaurant - food was absolutely delicious although the portions are very, very small - especially given the high price. Limited beer menu was a disappointment. Staff were friendly. Given the extremely high prices - this a great choice for a special occasion but not a regular dining out place. Desserts were outstanding.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Ambiance But Food Portions Small and Not Well Prepared
Lupo Verde is in a residential section of Georgetown and has great ambiance. This was a take-out order and the offerings were pricey for the quantity of food, which we could have overlooked but (except for the lasagna) the food was not even average. The meatballs were tough and overcooked, the salad portions were very small and the carbonara dish, also overcooked, was tasteless. Very disappointing. Also, no masks were worn by the staff as represented on the website.
Be the first to ReplyGreat option at 14th Street NW
Excelente option if you are in 14 street Nw. The food is always delicious. The pork chops and the artichoke are one of the best options on the menu.
Be the first to ReplyFun location and a host who couldn’t be beat
The place is fun to look at. Very festive. The host was worth the visit. Great guy. Welcoming and accommodating.
We sat outside. Lots of greenery. A climbing rose bush shared my table. Had the bread salad, which was good. Wine was fine. Server seemed like he was having a long night but drinks came immediately and food arrived within a reasonable time. We never felt rushed although place was hopping. 14th street is one restaurant after another. Good area to people watch.
Yummy lunch
My fiancé and I enjoyed a multi day visit to DC’s NW district. While staying in a neighborhood AirBnB, we enjoyed strolling the streets and enjoying the comfortable atmosphere. One afternoon, we decided to stop for lunch and Lupo Verde was a perfect spot. The weather was nice so we enjoyed eating a la fresco. Mike was a terrific server and he was supported by Aiden, who was doing a great job, especially for the first day on the job. My Romano sandwich was delicious. Although the food took a little longer than we anticipated, when I notified Mike that we were trying to catch a bus for a ticketed event, he kindly processed my check and brought packaging for my leftovers, while we were eating. So, we arrived to our destination on time and I had a delicious half sandwich for the next day. My only concern was the surprise of running out of ketchup. Apparently, I got the last bit, but I knew that would make the rest of the day difficult for servers since it is something beyond their control, yet they have to face customers that may not be pleased by this. The indoor and outdoor facilities were very nice and I would definitely return and recommend it to others. Thank you.
Be the first to ReplyCAUGHT THEM ON A BAD DAY, but they kinda made it right in the end.
Beautiful warm day, lunch with my mom and daughter. Nice to sit outside. However, I realized that almost no one had any food. We waited......20 mins, 30 mins, 40 mins, and told multiple times food was coming any minute...staff was not attentive, I had to ask myself where the food was. As we baked under a transparent plastic roof we finally gave up, and walked away after an hour with no food. The manager put contact tracing to use, called us and told us to come back our food was packed up to go, and the meal would be comped. So, she did the right thing, thank you manager! But, might be best to tell diners when the kitchen is in crisis mode. And best do something about the plastic outdoor roofing, it bakes diners like a magnifying glass on a warm day.
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointing
Very disappointing , I have been at lupo many time . The food is not consistent
Sometime is good sometimes is not
Tonight it was pretty bad and the waiter was very weird . Well the Campari spritz were good ! Up your game !
Second successful time at the restaurant; becoming a “go-to” place
Second time at the restaurant, and it’s becoming a “go-to” place for us, even though it’s a 20-minute trip with no traffic and a half hour trip in traffic. Excellent food each time (tonight was the dorade (delicious), preceded by fried artichokes and cacio e pepe. Service is also wonderful. First time, the hostess, Nani, who is the company’s event planner but was standing in, graciously resolved a concern with a table. Tonight, Ykateryna provided spectacular table service. Nice atmosphere, too.
Be the first to ReplyLovely decor, disappointing experience
This is a charming restaurant, and I really wanted to love it. The brunch menu was limited, and it seemed a bit over priced; when the small portions of food came out, I knew it was overpriced! Our server was sweet and accommodating, but what really ruined our meal was when we asked for salt and pepper. The pepper came out in a grinder and the salt on a plate. My husband and I lightly salted our dishes and then, when we tasted our pasta and eggs, we realized that we had been given sugar instead of salt! We had to send the food back, and while it came back quickly, we were surprised that management- who knew about the situation- did not take anything off the bill or offer us anything as a gesture of apology. That is what elevates good management and customer service to excellent. Almost $100 for three for brunch (with small portions) is significant, and I wish Lupo Verde had done more to acknowledge their mistake and our inconvenience. The food was fine- maybe would have tasted better without the bad taste that was left in my mouth.
