This is one of our go to spot for dim sum since it's close to us and delicious. All dishes are large and you order ahead of time so you won't see any carts. It's pricier than other dim sum places but it's probably due to the location and portion size. I prefer Capital Seafood but it's a further drive.
Be the first to ReplyWent to the Pasadena location (Sunday morning - 1st round)
Went to the Pasadena location (Sunday morning - 1st round) after trying out the Alhambra location several times before and enjoyed the food at the Alhambra location. However, it was a total disappointment at the Pasadena location. My family and I had five dim sum dishes (har gow, Siu mai, daikon cake, beef balls, and bbq pork cheun fun). To sum it up, if I could give ZERO STAR, I would. All items were lukewarm at best, the metal containers were not warm at all. After complaining to the staff, they removed the har-gow and siu mai. They returned later with a "fresh" set with the same results (a few degrees warmer). The server explained to me that they took the dim sum from the top of the dim sum stack. Not wanting try anymore dim sum, we ordered a dish of seafood (HK style) chow mein. The noodles were soggy (barely a bite of crispy noodles) and the cod filet was horrible (not fresh at all). I will never give this particular location a second chance.
Be the first to ReplyThe dim sum was decent.
Good quality with fancy presentation. The duck was good. Recommend the radish cake and the rice roll. But this place only open till 8!!
Be the first to ReplyPretty great quality dimsum! We ordered take out.
You can use the delivery apps (which add about $2 more per item) or use the Lunasia app. Oddly they don't have web ordering. The app charges $1-2 for chili oil and other sauces. There is street parking (read the signs) and the loading zone right in front is okay to park on Sundays. Shrimp har gow is huge! About $1.60 each piece. We also got beef cube, noodles, shu mai, and shrimp and beef noodles. Everything was packed nicely and no spillage.
Be the first to ReplyOrdering and paying by phone was very convenient.
While sitting with our group and discussing what to order, was a unique experience. The waiters brought drinks and we took as much time as needed to decide what to eat. The food arrived piping hot and was awesome! If you haven't tried Lunasia before, you're in for a treat.

Outstanding food, I have eaten at Lunasia in Alhambra for years and just tried their Pasadena restaurant location and both are good.

I arrived at Lunasia Dim Sum House in Pasadena on a busy Sunday morning, excited to try some of their most popular dishes. As I walked in, the aroma of freshly steamed dumplings filled my nose and I couldn't wait to dig in.The restaurant was bustling with activity, and I could see why - the menu was full of mouth-watering options. I decided to start with their famous shrimp dumplings, which were perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The pork buns were also a hit - fluffy on the outside and savory on the inside. For my main course, I ordered the pan-fried noodles with beef and vegetables, which was deliciously satisfying. The noodles were crispy and the beef was tender and juicy. I also tried the egg tarts, which were flaky and sweet. The service was excellent throughout my meal, with attentive staff who were happy to offer recommendations and answer any questions I had. The ambiance of the restaurant was also very pleasant, with a modern and clean design that made me feel comfortable. As I finished my meal and prepared to leave, I couldn't help but feel satisfied and impressed with my experience at Lunasia Dim Sum House. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the ambiance was enjoyable.Overall, I would give Lunasia Dim Sum House a 4-star rating. While the food was undoubtedly delicious, I did find the prices to be a bit on the high side. Nonetheless, it's definitely worth a visit for anyone looking to indulge in some top-quality dim sum.
Be the first to ReplyWe ordered take out, and it only took 20 minutes to prepare.
The jumbo siumai comes 4 per order, and they were absolutely delicious, there were actually chunks of pork and shrimp inside that you could actually see and taste. One order which had 4 jumbo dumplings was plenty enough for sampling for 2 people. The shrimp har-gow actually had whole shrimp inside and was absolutely delicious. The potstickers were also absolutely delicious and our grandson loved them. The Chinese barbecue pork was flavorful, tender, and delicious. The sweet and sour chicken had fresh peppers, pineapples, and onions and tasted very good as well. however, the pan fried broccoli wasn't anything spectacular, and just tasted average. You might be paying a little extra, but it was a great upscale version of dim-sum.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible food and even worse service - don't bother.
We had to ask for everything, bowls, plates, napkins. A very poor experience.
Be the first to ReplyShanghai Soup Dumpling is a disappointment.
It is not very bad --- comparable in quality to the frozen one from Trader Joes. Price is very high and the wait was super long. Not worth the wait or the price.
Be the first to ReplyI absolutely hate their digital menu/ordering system.
It took us about 15 minutes to figure out if we were ordering the correct items. Anyway, besides that Lunasia is so good! I love their soup pork dumplings and the crispy soy sauce noods. The jasmine tea is also a nice way to finish your meal. For the most part, the staff was attentive. We didn't have one server in particular , it was more of a group effort. This was my 5th time or so, and I'll definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyHaven't had dim sum in awhile .
Came to Pasadena twice this year last time saw Lunasia we weren't able to go so this time finally tried it and we're glad we did . This place is awesome . Had shar gow, beef soup dumplings, bok choy, roasted pork belly , dumpling soup with veggies and all were good . Definitely worth going whenever we are here in Pasadena . Great service as well .
Be the first to ReplyWhat a disaster.
The steamed rice was stale. The rice noodle roll with bbq pork was stale. The sautรฉed string beans were burned. the weirdest part was this bbq pork bun crossed with a pineapple custard bun.
Be the first to ReplyWould give 3.
5 stars if I could. This place is nothing to write home about but is solid dim sum place. Tried shrimp dumplings, shao mai, sticky rice, chicken feet, and radish cake. All good but not amazing. Don't order the hot and sour soup lol, it's suuuuuper hot and spicy, like unnecessarily so.
Be the first to ReplyVery small restaurant compared to other authentic dim sum
Very small restaurant compared to other authentic dim sum places. If you're looking for REAL dimsum don't go here. It is so americanized. Not what I expected at a dimsum restaurant. I don't know how they get all those rewards. This place is probably just meant for White American.
Be the first to ReplyNot an authentic dim sum place.
The dim sum food quality is very bad:-----Shrimp dumplings: Skin was thick; very starchy; Shrimp tasted weird from frozen ---Spinach dumplings: skin was thick; same ingredients as shrimp dumpling with green colored skin. There are much better dim sum place around. I was fooled by the 4-stars ratings.

The worst part of this meal was that the egg tart wasn't brought out last. I had a great time at Lunasia and it was probably the best dim sum I've had in LA, not that I'm anywhere near a reliable source for the accuracy of that statement. I forgot the names of the dishes but all the dim sum was consistent and perfect bites. The wait was like 45 minutes on a Sunday afternoon but we'll worth it. Even the egg tart was great.

Super service!! Didn't wait even 10 mins for food and they were very attentive to my needs. I'm a shy person so when I stared at one of them for a minute they came over and were patient for a response. Food is also a 10/10 super filling and delicious!
Be the first to ReplyThe food was great.
Ambiance was nice. Service and food came out quick. The front desk hostess Carmen was very accommodating to my large party and was extremely attentive. Thank you Carmen! We will be back
Be the first to Replygood๏ผi like it๏ผI like chicken feet.
The stir-fried dishes are also very delicious. Some dishes are very hard, if you want to try it.
Be the first to ReplyI'll make this quick and simple as we all gotta that dim
I'll make this quick and simple as we all gotta that dim sum! If going with friends or family, just carpool. Parking is difficult. There's a parking lot at the back. Flat rate used to be $7. I think it's now $5. Check still. That's Monday - Friday. It's free on the weekend. You can track the wait-list live through Yelp.Let's talk about food.. .I'm not crazy about it. ย It's okay.I ordered a Sprite and it was served in a cup without a lid, which I thought was fine. I didn't care. When I had a sip, it tasted like it had been sitting out there for a long time. It's flat. It's almost gross. You need proof of vaccination to eat inside.Feel free to follow if you find this helpful. Enjoy!
Be the first to Replysalt & pepper fish filets- horrible.
ย very salty, sticks together. ย not recommended. ย egg tarts looks good, but the crust were soft.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent shui mai.
Served hot mustard and siracha without us having to request. Also enjoyed a scallop and shrimp pocket, salt & pepper spare ribs... quite tasty!
Be the first to ReplyThis place is too good.
I am never disappointed by what is ordered except for that one time they didn't have the ha cheung (shrimp rice noodle with sweet soy sauce). It's too good - everyone knows it. They have the absolute best, high-quality siu mai I've had in Los Angeles. Too many times I've come across celebrities dining here. Customer service is also amazing. They are so attentive even when busy!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious dim sum.
Limited menu but everything is made to order. No push carts, so don't expect that style of dim sum dining.
