I have visited here twice, once for a bachelorette brunch
I have visited here twice, once for a bachelorette brunch and the other for brunch with my friend recently. Both times were excellent. Quaint little place with great food and amazing attentive service. I recently ordered a Bloody Mary which was great and the Moules Marinière. It was outstanding I highly recommend and the bread they give to the table is fresh and a perfect compliment. If you are in Sag Harbor stop over it will not disappoint.

Lulu Kitchen and Bar in Sag Harbor Sunday brunch on the East End (Sag Harbor) in January? Can it be done? Well, yes, YES, it CAN be done, and done QUITE well! LuLu Kitchen and Bar was a lovely, casually upscale spot for an utterly pleasant Sunday, winter brunch. With a Manhattan style brunch menu, and inexpensive "brunch happy hour" LuLu knows how to "properly brunch!" On the way back to NYC after the weekend, 4 of us stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. The room is "market fresh," sunlit and inviting with a plethora of bright vegetables on display. The service is attentive, SO accommodating and warm. (Our group was comprised of gluten free, egg free, fat free and low carb individuals, ALL of whom were happily accommodated.) The lobster Cobb salad (for 2-3 people) was REALLY delicious, fresh, abundant (enough for 4) and served in a large, family style wooden bowl. We LOVED it! The crepes a l'orange were also devoured (by the only person in our group with no dietary restrictions.) The inexpensive brunch cocktails were enjoyed. If you're in sag Harbor (or even NEAR Sag Harbor,) have brunch at LuLu kitchen and Bar..... it's worth a detour!

My sister had it, too. The kind of food when no one talks as it's that good. Service was great and it's such a nice place. Completely reco this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyFood is good but not fabulous.
Be prepared to have tons of bees swarming all over the place if you are seated in the open air space in the back of the restaurant. Not a pleasant experience.

We ate at Lulu Kitchen and Bar for the first time last night and we loved it. They made the branzino for us without the sauce to make it gluten free, and it was the best simple grilled fish I've ever had. It was moist and delicious. The mussels and octopus appetizers were really yummy too, as was the creme brûlée. The service was excellent too. All of the waitstaff were friendly and extremely attentive. Looking forward to going back there again soon.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic service and food all the way around.
Myself and my dining companions shared the mussels, crudités and hummus and the grilled branzino, along with some drinks and a crème brûlée to finish. The mussels and branzino were standouts, as was the service. Don't skip an espresso martini at the end of your meal. We loved sitting in the garden room. Service was great, we didn't feel rushed at all despite staying past closing.

If you have had an unpleasant experience at this upscale eatery, I might advise you to keep your constructive criticism to yourself. Don't talk to the manager! And here is why. I joined two friends this Saturday evening for a late night dinner. The restaurant was packed, the food coming out looked enticing, and there was definitely a vibe. We were seated in not an especially crowded area. And yet WE COULD NOT HEAR EACH OTHERS WORDS. The din was incredibly loud, boisterous, and uneven. We wondered how such a thoughtfully designed restaurant could have such a fatal flaw. We tried talking very loud and even moved as close to each other as possible. But to no avail. Disappointed after our high expectations, we asked for the check after ordering only our drinks so we could find a restaurant where we could hear each other. Wisely, our waiter informed the manager who told us they could move us to a quieter area. We were there already so we decided to stay. So thirty minutes after sitting down, we agreed to be moved. The new table was indeed in a quieter area and we were able to communicate without screaming. We ordered the octopus appetizer which although tasty and grilled well, was a small portion. The French fries were excellent. For mains, I enjoyed a juicy Bronzino, and my dinner mates had the cod which she enjoyed but my other mate was disappointed with his seafood pasta dish which he felt had stingy amounts of seafood. We paid the bill and I approached the manager. I expressed to him that I was surprised that the restaurant made absolutely no gesture to our party for the inconvenience of getting up from our table because of the absurd level of noise and basically starting our meal about sixty minutes after we sat down. I told him I wasn't looking for a reduction in our bill; our bill had already been paid in full. But I was surprised we were not offered a drink or a dessert on the house. I told him this gesture would have gone a long way by telling us "hey, we care about you guys, we want you to be happy and satisfied". By omitting this, they were telling us they basically didn't care. And their attitude was again reinforced by the words of the manager. To paraphrase, this is what he told me. 1. You're surprised? No I'm surprised by your attitude! 2. What do you expect on a Saturday night? Obviously, it is going to be very busy, noisy and crowded full of people. You should've expected this type of noise. 3. We moved you to a different table. So how were you inconvenienced at all? So basically the manager was blaming me. I was the one who should've realized Saturday would be crazy noisy. I was the one with ridiculous expectations. I was the one who should not have felt inconvenienced when seated in an area where speech was worthless I was the one who started his meal an hour late but should have felt grateful that I was moved to an appropriate table. If a manager and therefore the restaurant can not understand how unpleasant it is to want to vacate the restaurant because you are so uncomfortable with your seats, then I guess this restaurant doesn't really understand what restaurant patrons want, namely a pleasant experience.

We came to Lulu's for the first time and the service was great! Fiona was excellent and incredibly attentive and helpful start to finish. The ambiance is lovely and perfect for a date night or a good dinner out. The lobster is great but you have to get the macadamia cookie it's unbelievable!
Be the first to Reply1 Star for the bread.
Meal was bad that I don't even what I had for appetizer. The Duck for 2 was horrible. Tasteless duck. The worst $300 I've spent on FOOD ONLY, didn't even have any beverage. Wouldn't recommend period.
