My visit offered a mixed culinary journey.
While some menu items were outstanding, others fell short of expectations. However, the redeeming factors were the remarkable wine selection and the mix of cocktails, which were nothing short of amazing. The expertise in curating both the wine list and cocktails showcased a commitment to elevated libations. If you're a fan of exceptional drinks and don't mind exploring menu options, this might still be worth a visit for its stellar beverages.the service was great and the ambiance was relaxing.

3.5 stars: had a nice early weeknight dinner here. It's cozy inside and the folks working there are quite hospitable and happy to let you take your time and enjoy the food, drinks and company. The plum negroni was a fun twist on the usual, and though I probably wouldn't have more than one at a time, it was pretty good - just needed a quick stir before serving to make it colder. As for the food, we had a pretty minimalistic dinner, just two plates of pasta (the funghi and the buttera) and of course, the complimentary bread. Neither were mind-blowing but I liked the crispy bits of guanciale in the buttera, and the fact that it tasted like a carbonara but with tomato as well. A good option for when you can't decide between the a carbonara/cacio e pepe or a tomato-based pasta. I'd had lots of bread in my travels to Northern Italy so I knew not to expect the tastiest of bread, but I can at least say that it was fluffy and fresh tasting. They were also kind to give us a little homemade digestif at the end of the meal, which was interesting for sure! In general, a solid neighborhood pasta shop.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and wine.
The service is superb. Interesting ambiance. Horrible reservation system.
Be the first to ReplyThis Italian eatery is a hidden gem.
The owners and servers go above and beyond to ensure the wine, appetizers and entrees are perfection. The pistachio dessert was amazing-light, cool, refreshing!
Be the first to ReplyService and atmosphere was great! Really kind people here.
However the food was just not very good... extremely underwhelming pasta. My partner ordered a martini. They didn't even shake it or chill the glass. My partner said he just saw them dump gin and vermouth straight into the martini glass, how a college freshman would make a martini. It was 17 dollars. Like damn. Unfortunately we don't think we'll be back.

Came here for some light bites and drinks with a few friends recently. The service was a bit inattentive and honestly I was not really wowed by any of the things I tried. I had a Paradiso spritz which was refreshing but nothing too special. We also tried the Prosciutto and the Mozzarella which were also just alright. Given the steep price, I guess I had a bit higher expectations, so I won't be going here again.

We came here a few months ago with high hopes and left extremely disappointed. The owner's attitude went from warm to extremely cool once we declined to order wine, and he refused to allow us to order our main dishes separate from ordering the appetizers. The pastas were extremely underwhelming, and the tiramisu tasted like it was purchased from a Stop n' Shop. The cherry on top of the experience was the food poisoning we both had afterwards.

Rustic Italian Restaurant with homey ambiance~ I am not the biggest fan of Italian food, but I really loved the Ai porcini (mushroom pasta) and the grilled duck breast. The Ai porcini was made with fresh pasta and mixed wonderfully with the flavors of the mushrooms. The grilled duck breast was perfectly tender - this was definitely the favorite among my friends and me. Lastly, the tiramisu was decadent but not too heavy and not too sweet - the perfect end to our meal! The service was fast and attentive. There are many Italian restaurants in NYC, but I highly recommend Locanda Vini & Olii for more rustic Italian food and restaurant ambiance.

This charming spot is a neighborhood favorite for a relaxing evening with friends or a romantic dinner.

Absolutely decadent! My partner has been raving about this restaurant and we finally got to go together. We started with the prosciutto which was a first time for me as I just recently started eating meat. It practically melted in your mouth! For our entrees, we shared a mushroom pasta and the grilled duck breast with chickpeas. Both were fantastic! The pistachio dessert was also amazing! What I love most is they have gluten free pasta!I'll definitely be visiting Loconda again!

This is an adorable restaurant that used to be a pharmacy back in the day and they've kept a lot of that old world charm about the place. Sometimes it feels like you've stepped back in time. I tried to get some pictures to show how cute it is but they didn't do it justice. Staff are very friendly and attentive and the wine by the glass is a generous pour. Always a win in my book! Now to the food: seemed like the most popular dish is cacio e pepe which they serve out of one of those big cheese wheels. We did not try it because that's just a wee bit too much cheese for me. But the couple next to us both had it and cleaned their plate. We had the Gorgonzola salad with figs which was tasty, the pomodoro (stewed tomatoes dish) which I loved, and then the Al Tartufo which is the pasta with the truffles. All very generous helpings but I have to say (and I never thought I'd ever complain about this) but I think it was too truffley. Is there such a thing? Yes there is. Our pasta came absolutely covered in truffle shavings that was too much for one dish. I know how expensive they are so it seemed like a waste as I don't think we even ate half. There was also truffle purรฉe in there so was a lil too much. All in all a lovely evening for a date and I would go back
Be the first to ReplyThis is one of the first places I went to when I moved to
This is one of the first places I went to when I moved to Brooklyn, and I consistently find myself taking my friends from out of town here when they come. The restaurant is an old drugstore that was converted and also provides groceries/fresh ingredients for pickup. The staff is kind and amazing. It's definitely best to get a reservation as the place does get really packed. Food-wise, I love all of the pasta. They rotate some of the offerings, but my favorite has to be the pappardelle that they sometimes have with a wild boar ragu and sometimes with a rabbit sauce. The lasagna is also great and fresh and a good choice for vegetarians. I am not the biggest fan of asparagus, so I didn't love that part, but the other flavors were good. The grilled duck breast is FABULOUS. It's tender and juicy, and I love the shallot marmalade on the side. I did have a lamb shank here once when it was on the menu, and I didn't love that, mainly because I am not the biggest lamb fan. Drinks-wise, I love all of their wines. Their spritz selection is vast, but I think a little too sweet for my liking. Overall, this is a great neighborhood joint with out of this world pasta and food that is pretty affordable and a great spot for a date or a hangout with friends/family.
Be the first to ReplyThis is an excellent restaurant serving classic Tuscan food.
High quality ingredients and simple, honest cooking. My wife and I recently went with our almost two-year-old daughter. The staff was so accommodating - nothing was a problem. We felt very welcomed. The staff even took our stroller and kept it in the back of the restaurant. We enjoyed our prosciutto, mozzarella di buffala, and our daughter loved the fresh baked Tuscan bread. The tagliata here is also delicious - reminds me of a classic tagliata I would get in Italy. At the end of the meal, the staff was kind enough to bring our stroller to the front of the restaurant, just outside the entrance door, and everyone at the restaurant was very sweet with our daughter. Great people and a great neighborhood place. We'll be coming back for sure.

I have been here so many times and the past 6 months each time the food has been incredibly mid. The drinks, desserts, vibes are all still good, but getting an actual meal is out of the question.
Be the first to ReplyOrdered Branzino here.
Unfortunately it tasted like a frozen meal. It had overcooked fennel, mushy spinach, and the fish was overdone. It was also over salted and there's no lemon served with it. Not sure what the hype is, but it's not often I am slow to finish my meal. Maybe it's what I ordered? But the pasta and lasagna my friends got were beyond al dente.Cool vibe and cute spot - very neighborhoodie, but the food is not good.

I am always delighted when my husband and I are able to snag a table here and I don't mind eating on the early side just to make sure that we do. It's the best Italian restaurant for miles around. Every dish I've eaten here has been outstanding and the service is fast, warm, and professional. I'd like to give a special mention to the fegatini (chicken liver risotto). It's absolutely phenomenal with the perfect mixed of textures. I will be sad when the weather gets warmer and they take it off the menu.

The service provided here this Valentine's Day was really really good. From the time I made the reservation online and all the way through to the dining experience, I received excellent service. Also, while I am not a lover of Italiano, I must say that the way they seasoned their food to perfection had my taste buds poppin in a very bueno way!
Be the first to ReplyAn absolute neighborhood favorite.
Went for a date on a Friday evening and were pleased by the classic ambiance of the place. The host seated us instantly because of our reservation and the server was full of life. You can tell when people enjoy what they do, and it can definitely be said about the staff here. We tried the duck and mushroom pasta. Duck was pretty good, but mushroom pasta was the show stopped. We haven't stopped talking about it since and will definitely go back and get our own plate next time. No sharing this pasta dish!! Finally, the tiramisu was soft and fluffy! A definite stop if you're in the neighborhood.
Be the first to ReplyLoving the ambiance here.
Themed decor, music isn't too loud, the food is delish. Everything tastes rustic. The Negroni selection is also great, especially if you consider yourself a Negroni drinker. The spritz selection is also good for every taste. ย Homemade pasta ย and plenty of main course options. Pair a few apps with a pasta and a main.

My bestie just moved to Brooklyn and we are scoping out new eateries in her neighborhood- this one is a slam dunk! The mozzarella di bufala app and kale-and-bean crostini all were yummy. My ragu was DELICIOUS- a must-get. My friends got the mushroom pasta and the al butera pasta which were both excellent. Tiramisu for dessert was scrumptious. Nothing sucks here!

I was looking forward to eating here, since I saw the reviews were for the the most part positive. The outdoor seating is well structured and has a heating lamp (which is a plus), my plum Negroni was tasty, and the server was lovely. However everything else was just a misfire: the bread was weirdly devoid of flavor and the crust was off, the fettunta was literally a plate of unseasoned cannellini beans and steamed kale, and the ribollita was a pile of mush and not a proper soup. I got the cod with chickpeas for my main thinking I'd get a simple but tasty meal, but the fish was mushy and the chickpeas were again oddly under seasoned and not really cooked. My dining companion was also not a fan of the cod and honestly the pastas didn't look very amazing either. Maybe I came on the wrong night, but I don't think I'll be coming back here anytime soon.
Be the first to ReplyTwo stars for the awesome space they're in.
Very cool to be in an old New York pharmacy. Unfortunately that's the best part of the restaurant. The menu reads well, but unfortunately the food just isn't very good, even down to the mis-baked bread. It felt and tasted more like buffet/cafeteria Italian, which wouldn't be so awful, but the prices reflect a far higher standard.
