I visited LM social before attending a play downtown.
The location is great and the atmosphere inside is nice as well. The restaurant was not very busy when we arrived. When we were seated, our server asked if we were going to the play, which we said we were. We ordered drinks, which were good. However, some drinks on the menu said they would be smoked tableside and they were not. I had a tequila cocktail which I enjoyed . Unfortunately I don't remember the name, and the cocktail menu online is not up to date. We also got the burrata appetizer, which was good. Unfortunately, our entrees were not ready by the time we needed to leave for the play. After a long wait, our waitress assured us they would be right out, so we figured we would have a few bites and take the rest to go. When more time passed, we asked to get the check and have our food brought out in takeout containers. The waitress said the kitchen was plating our food. We got our checks, gave our cards to the waitress, and received them back to sign and still did not get our food. This was very frustrating, as she was aware that we needed to leave for the play. We did not receive any apology from the waitress. We ended up going to the host stand and asking to have our entrees refunded. We couldn't justify paying for $35 entrees we never received. The employees at the host stand were accommodating and apologized, but we were disappointed to leave hungry. While the food and drinks I had the opportunity to try were good, I would not recommend LM social before a play or event. If I do visit again, I hope I can update this review with a better experience.
Be the first to ReplyVery upscale atmosphere feel.
Sat at the bar area. Service was lackluster. Just myself sitting at the bar and one of the bartenders friends/cousin. So I don't want undivided attention, but I would like service that at least provides you with silverware not only when you order your food, but it should be given before the food arrives. Then separating the food on the check was a big ordeal because this bartender was either on Adderall with some type of pills or something because they did not understand missing all the other steps of service. So they rang up the wrong credit card for the wrong charges that it like it was no big deal, there's not very representative of the business the employee you want someone that knows the menu that understands the drinks that engages the customer with good service when they're paying these type of prices.

Food was amazing here. Reservation suggested Haddock and Chicken Franchise both excellent dishes and good size portions. Chicken Marcella was also very good. Salads are excellent and even 1/2 size portions are enough for 1 person. Soups were also very good. Blazing shrimp stack looked good, table next to us had it. Arcinni Balls looked like 3 large balls. Note: Menu subject to change Service was good as well. The inside is very nice, old Lemon Grass plus for added space. Highly recommended if in the area.
Be the first to ReplyMy friends and I recently went to dinner at LM Social.
My friends had both been before & explained that the service is usually slow. I wasn't worried about this because we are an understanding group & I wanted to give their new location a shot. I have never done a yelp review before because I've never been passionate enough to do so, this experience changed that. We had a reservation & were promptly sat. We then waited for around twenty minutes for the host to come back up & asked if we had been greeted. She runs off to find our server & we wait another 10 minutes. We watch two separate people walk up to our waitress, point at our table, and she just rolled her eyes and continued meandering about. It was not busy by any means. Finally, after a total of around forty-five minutes waiting to even order our drinks, the waitress shows up to greet us. We think everything will be smooth sailing after. However, we're sitting right in front of the host stand. We watch as an Asian couple walks in and ask a to be seated. The manager (so I assume) told them "We are not currently seating walk-ins because our system is down". The couple is nice & leaves. Just a few minutes later a white couple walks in and the manager explains, "We will seat you but orders are taking a while because the system is down". I was appalled that he, without a thought, turned away the Asian couple but immediately sat the others??? Beyond that, the house bread was good but the burrata appetizer was not. Our entire group ordered seafood entrees and they were all disappointing compared to the price tag. The waitress forgot our salads and we waited an additional forty minutes for our food to be served. We then tried to check out, as it was now after close, and waited ANOTHER twenty minutes for our check to be picked up. Altogether, the place wasn't even full and it seemed like everyone was waiting for their food. I understand the system being down probably caused unexpected problems but refusing one group and not another was incredibly ridiculous. The atmosphere was beautiful but the food and service certainly fell short. Like I said, I have never left a review and I am sad that this was a negative experience but hopefully this information will be taken seriously and the staff will make some changes.

Great location and incredibly decorated, creating a great ambiance. Our server was great, very tentative and helpful. The cocktails were super tasty and the food was good. I didn't love love my dish, but maybe it was just my selection that wasn't great. Will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyWent for a girls night before a show at the landmark.
ambiance was great. Service was not the greatest, nor was the food. waited over an hour for our meal, because they were down a chef. We had to take our meals to go because we were going to be late for our show. At our meals 3 hours later, was not impressed
Be the first to ReplyOur first trip to LM Social.
Ambiance was very nice; we were just off of the bar which was noisy at times. Food was delicious - highly recommend the scallops! Service was very attentive. Nice wine list. I would definitely go again.
Be the first to ReplyReally cute ambience.
Loved the decor. I didn't have great experiences with the past LM, but this exceeded expectations. Our waitress was great and attentive. I ordered the sea bass, which was amazing. The risotto that paired with it was awesome as well. Our cocktails were also great. Any place that has an espresso martini is a friend of mine! Def would return.

I went with a few friends last Friday night to celebrate some birthdays and we had the best time there... first time for me! The food and service was outstanding and we found out our wonderful server had just started a few days earlier!! Highly recommended!!!
Be the first to ReplyThe ambiance is too small for the number of reservations
The ambiance is too small for the number of reservations and has very poor illumination, which is detrimental to see their menu (provided printed, with no online version). The decoration shows indecision or rather, a lack of good taste whatsoever, presenting a mix of bad B&W pictures with artificial grass and flowers. The staff seems unprepared, overworked, and lost. They forgot to send our orders to the kitchen, forgot to handle the menus and forgot who ordered what. The food takes an astoundingly long time to arrive and by the time they hit your table, they're as cold as a cadaver. Our table had several orders: duck, octopus, pasta, etc. They all came with a very depressive salad served like they serve kids in public schools. The octopus was overcooked; the duck was not worth the price and the pasta... it baffles me to know that people will call themselves "Chef" and charge you $20 for pasta that has as much refinement as $0.89 Maruchan ramen noodles. The drinks are currently sold as glorified versions of common drinks (Martini, for example) and definitely not worth the price (it is best to buy the liquor and do it at home). Overall, the experience is awful and definitely not worth your money, time, or patience. 1 star for the effort of calling themselves "fine dining place".
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely a place to try when in Syracuse.
The staff was friendly and accommodating! We tried 3 of the appetizers( cucumber crunch, burrata and the special) and they were all enjoyable. The 4 entrees we tried included the filet, salmon, pasta and a salad with chicken added. All would be ordered again, but the menu has several entrees worth trying a next time. The vibe was perfect especially with the addition of the piano player which creates a relaxing evening with friends, date night, or to celebrate a birthday.
Be the first to ReplyI feel like three stars is perfect for this place.
The ambiance is super cool, and there is some solid food in the menu. But I don't think I have ever had a worse experience at a restaurant. In the short....we had to STAND at the bar for an hour and 15 min waiting for our RESERVATION. Without a drink for the first 45 min because their extremely slow bartender apparently felt serving the people wasn't actually his job?!? The manager was made aware after 45 min we were stuck standing at the bar waiting. She had told us we'd get free dessert because she "felt terrible we were waiting"...we waited another 45 min. My meal was prepared wrong, the waitress hadn't checked on us until everyone else was done eating basically so I didn't really eat. The manager then brought out the sauce that was supposed to go on my now cold fish...so I did eat, and even tho it was cold...it was SO much better and I ate it! (Also probably helped I was starving at this point) we then ordered out "free" dessert....guess what wasn't free when the bill came!? It's almost comical how terrible it was! They didn't even give us a 1% discount...not a free meal, not a free drink and most certainly not the promised free desserts! I was blown away. We paid and got out, I already was well over when I told the babysitter I'd be home. Most expensive and disappointing night!

As a party of 10 we received multiple dishes, 2 of which were seafood and were completely undercooked. The manager came out to explain the sea bass and salmon are "sushi grade" fish and however these dishes were not even cooked medium rare they were completely raw and cold in the middle. The manager continued to gaslight us, which added on to the bad service that we received upon arrival when the hostess had a horrible attitude about sitting our party (that had a reservation). The fish came back, burnt on the bottom. Our server, Madeline, was fantastic though...loved her; we had a birthday celebration, and the drummer was awesome too. Unfortunately, there were also fruit flies.
Be the first to ReplyI only got drinks here so I can't comment about the food.
The bar had really cool drinks and it was a cool spot for me and my friends to hang out. It was a little more pricy than most places in Armory Square but if you're looking for a night out for a special occasion I recommend my friends go to LM Social.
Be the first to ReplyThird time here, and I'll keep coming back.
The food is wonderful, the service superb, the setting exquisite. Cheers to Owner & Executive Chef Becca Ewald for making such a stunning mark on Armory Square!
Be the first to ReplyMy wife and I ate her on New Year's Eve.
The menu looked quite promising with quite a few fine dining options and speciality drink options for the evening. We were seated right at our reservation time and then were rushed, literally every 15 minutes to move along and get through our meal. The reservation specifically stated guests would have 1.5 hours at their table. We wouldn't need quite that, but at least an hour to enjoy a meal would have been nice. Drinks arrived, both unfinished. We were served salads, which looked to have been poured directly from a grocery store salad bag and our main course arrived not even 5 minutes after salads. I had chicken piccata, that absolutely should have taken more than a few minutes to cook and instead looked to have been cooked the previous day and then nuked for the evening. My wife had an overcooked salmon with confit that looked like it was either going rancid or was not prepped correctly midway through our mains and after rushing to gobble salads the server was up our butts about dessert. We hadn't even had time to *try* to enjoy the mains and relax. Checking THREE times about dessert is excessive. We finally decided on a dessert and in between the desert arriving and us consuming it the server asked 3-4 times about the check. By that point, we were done. The food is WAY overpriced for microwaved leftovers that were being served. If you are paying 30 bucks for piccata, MP for a steak, and 30-40 bucks for pasta it better be handmade and made to order. Period. The ambience was a joke, playing 90's rap and children's music with an interior that was desperately attempting to convey fine dining. The only rewarding aspect of the evening was that the cocktails were made WAY too strong and paying the check to move on to another destination. Save your TIME and MONEY and absolutely do not bother with this place. I would never be a patron here again.
