They never answer the phone so I gave up after 5 attempts to contact them. Also they don't seem to be open when I stopped by

Showed up on time, but they were closed due to an electrical or plumbing problem. Why did they not call me to tell me?? After that, when I called to try and book another apt, NO ONE ever answered the phone. Not a good way to run a biz. Finally got the facial. The student was v. nice and pretty good. But the hour facial ended up being only about 50 min. I had an apt, but when I got there, was told the student was on break. What the heck?? then took another 15 min or more to get it all set up. If this is how they are teaching their students to work in the real world, they are not going to make it. The place was v. clean and had a friendly atmosphere. But they seem to be dropping the ball on customer service. If no customers, how are the students going to practice, and learn, and be able to work in the real world?

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience here at L'esprit..It started off with us finding out that the stylists that we scheduled with and wanted for services had graduated. I'm not sure why she was still in the system to schedule appointments. We had to wait 30 minutes for another stylist to service my daughter. We were scheduled for a wash, blow dry. and thermal press service. I had to defer the thermal press because it literally to the stylist over an hour to blow dry my 8 year old daughter's hair. As an adult my hair is longer and thicker but it has never taken over hour to blow dry my hair. I totally understand these students are learning but it does not appear that customer satisfaction is a priority. None of the instructors took note that this stylist may have needed some assistants. I hope this review helps the school reassess the services they offer and their standard of customer satisfaction

I went there for a full set of highlights, they only did baby highlights. The girl I had was very nice but I think she was stressed because I had to go at a certain time. So, she was pulling my hair when doing the foils and like everything turned into a tangly mess. The highlights itself took like 3 hours so she didn't have time to blow dry my hair which broke my hair. And I asked for Carmel highlights and I didn't want a money piece. But when I got home my bangs turned like a yellow orange so I don't know if they didn't do the toner right but I was very upset. But overall she was super nice and so was the staff.

This school is a literal hot mess! Firstly, there is one teacher instructing all three classes (level 1, 2, and 3) with over 20 students (which is against state law!) secondly, we barely learn anything especially when you get to level two! The teacher talks to you like she's your friend and doesn't do anything hands on or critique students work to give them insight. We haven't been properly trained on makeup we have to watch videos and that's it! How are we gonna pass our state board or final exam if we barely have any instruction on makeup? Thirdly, once we get signed off to work in the salon we don't know how to do half the services that are advertised (for an example, Brazilian, Extractions, eyebrow, etc) so that leads to us having to turn clients down because no one knows how to preform!!! Lastly, the school is DIRTY AF! Flys always flying around and a terrible ant infestation. I would also like to add they are terrible with inventory in keeping products that students need stocked up. We've tried expressing concerns to the higher ups like the CEO but they seem not to care! Nothing is being done! They take all of our hard earn money and rip us off! I hope this place gets shut down.

I had the most amazing experience today at the student salon. First, I called and left a message and received a call back within the hour to make an appointment. The front desk staff was friendly, listened, and was very accommodating. Second, I was able to get an appointment for the next morning with La Porcha she was so kind and attentive. Initially I was on edge because my hair had some breakage due some prior color that I had done elsewhere. La Porcha deep conditioned my hair, trimmed my split end without cutting my hair off, and she styled my hair leaving it bouncing and behaving! I experienced a miracle today! Keep up the good work L' Esprit Academy (Canton), Ms. Kira Miller, and kudos to your students and future beauticians.

Today was the second time I showed up for an appt and did not received the services I booked. If you are closed due to the weather please have the courtesy to call people and let them know. At the very least have a message on your phone! The first time I made a hair appointment and was told when I arrived that the student did not show up that day. Today both the Student Salon and academy were closed - no phone call, note on the doors, or message when calling their phone #s. I WILL NOT BE BOOKING HERE AGAIN!

I'm updating my review as L'esprit finally made things right. However, it was done by the owner of the salon by happenstance. She was very kind and holds integrity as a business value, so we're sure she will investigate the incident but the way this scenario was initially handled was unfortunate. While I've been going to L'esprit for sometime, I will never be back here after they demeaned my 85 year old grandma. I dropped my grandma off to get her very short hair washed and blow dried. She's had this same appointment done many, many times before and has always gotten it washed, dried, and a few curls from an iron put in in 45 minutes. It's always come to $15. Simple, easy, quick. Well, this time they charged her $40 and gave her horns. They curled her hair with a giant horn on the side. It looked awful and she was dumbstruck with the price, but paid it and didn't complain thinking she misunderstood something. She was in and out in 20 minutes for over double the price. I picked her up aghast but didn't say anything to hurt her feelings... and then she told me the price. After calling and receiving some snippy back talk and a promise the manager would return the call that day, we still have heard nothing from a manager in 4 days. Someone called again to ask for more details with another promise a manager would call that day, but that hasn't happened. I'm really disappointed and upset not that it happened, but that this wasn't handled in a professional manner and that the salon didn't own up to their mistakes initially, but instead fought with her family over the phone. Instead or turning this into the opportunity to increase customer satisfaction and staff training, it was used to demean an elderly woman.

i went to school here, DO NOT waste your money to try to get a beauty education here! i had one instructor that was teaching my class as well as another class. when you are going over the book work during the first phase it is not explained in depth, you are not told what to note for your state board test, and if you ask for help you will be told to just refer back to your book. also i had asked my instructor if we should buy the milady workbooks that went with our books and she told me "no you don't need them because i'm not checking everyone's, that's not my job" i was stunned cause i would've thought having the title of being an educator meant checking and correcting YOUR students work. when you transition into phase two which is hands on, you are showed a demo then on your own with your classmates. we all helped and relied on each other to prep for our boards and school final exam. i'm still currently struggling with taking my theory because i have to learn so much new information and study for it to pass my test! i'm very disappointed that i put so much money into a school that put in the bare minimum! i don't recommend any of my friends that want to be in the beauty industry to go here and i differently don't recommend any others. it's just a overall bad experience and is not the education i was hoping to get! thank you

Well, I used to like coming here but I won't be back now! The last time I was here I waited about 15-20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, not a huge deal but when they make such a big deal about being on time for your appointment it's kind of comical. But I had an appointment scheduled today for a color and cut and find out when I get there after waiting for 10 minutes that my stylist didn't even show and no one else can do it!! Seriously?!?! That was it, didn't offer me anything off my next service or anything! I'm done, I won't be back! What horrible customer service!! Just horrible!

Amazing beauty school! I was very prepared for the beauty industry, teachers are amazing especially ashley, she will help you with all she has.(: the only thing is I would keep up with your own hours because they don't do a great job of it!
