Lei Garden Reviews from The Last Year
Excellent dim sum.
Fast service with an extensive variety of dim sum for traditional brunch. Hong Kong style rolling carts. We loved the quality of their food.
Similar to other reviewers, I consistently notice a line
Similar to other reviewers, I consistently notice a line forming outside and the tables are consistently occupied inside, which creates a tempting allure to give this place a try. We decided to grab dim sum here for lunch during Cupertino's cherry blossom weekend. When you arrive, a host will guide you to your table and they will give you a paper menu and pen to mark your orders. Menu offers plenty of dishes to choose from which can take awhile to order if you're new to the restaurant. Side dishes have no price, but family dish does. Restaurant has a classical Chinese aesthetic: round table, white table cloth, and featuring a water wall. Even though the menu presented no prices on the single dishes, we kept choosing dishes as if playing roulette. I don't recall the names for each dish, but quality and tasting was satisfying. Serving size is perfect balance. Despite the enjoyable food, we ended up spending $60+ for the meal for two, which was more than we anticipated. While it might not become a regular haunt, it's a place worth saving for future visits.

Hmm. Came in with a party of 3, easily got a table at 10:15. There were table already seated. By 10:30, the volume of noise increased gradually. Food was okay. Nothing really stood out, flavors were okay but lacking. Our last dish was the fried shrimp balls. Fresh off the fryer, however when I went to get a piece, the inside was clearly uncooked and gray in color. Hubby and offspring touched the inside, and it was cold. They took the dish back, and had it removed from the bill since we were full anyway. They use the same scissors to cut all the dim sum, so you know there is cross contamination.
The service is shit.
They charge kimchi and peanuts refills without telling you and even deny that when we see it on the check.
I liked: $7 Spare ribs in black bean sauce $7 Egg custard
I liked: $7 Spare ribs in black bean sauce $7 Egg custard bun $7 Mango pudding $12 Pork belly $7 Scallion pancake $10 Pan fried pork bun $10 Chinese broccoli This was ok: $8 Shrimp & Pork Xlb $7 Steamed bbq pork bun $8 Mixed seafood dumpling $8 Chicken pot sticker $8 Beef rice roll The best thing I can say is that service here is very fast. Overall the food is ok but the high price pulls down the overall experience. If I were to come back, I'd be very selective about what we pick. Things I marked as OK were largely cuz they were bland and lacked the flavor I expected. Pretty mid because when I go to a large dim sum place that isn't fancy, I expect cheap tasty food. Because this meal cost 50 dollars per person and the flavors weren't worth it, I can't recommend people go to Lei Garden unless you need dim sum immediately. We got seated, ordered, ate, and paid all within 40 minutes.
Came here for Sat dinner and no wait.
Servers were quite friendly and attentive. The complimentary peanuts could be refilled which was a plus. We had the stir fry fish maw with egg whites (never seen elsewhere) and braised roast duck & taro with coconut milk. Had complimentary sesame balls which were pretty tasty. Will come back and try more items.
Quick Service and Decent Dim Sum at Lei Garden My recent
Quick Service and Decent Dim Sum at Lei Garden My recent visit to Lei Garden in Cupertino provided a decent dim sum experience, albeit with some mixed feelings.Arriving on a Sunday morning around 10:30 am, my party and I were pleased to find a table available without any waiting, despite the small and crowded nature of the restaurant. The dim sum selection process was unique, as patrons are given a menu sheet to pick their favorite items. We opted for a variety of dim sum including baked pork buns, shrimp dumplings, siu mai, fried egg rolls, curry pastry, turnip cake, and xiao long bao. While the food quality was satisfactory, I must admit that I've had better dim sum at other establishments. One standout aspect of our experience was the quick service provided by the staff. Our food arrived all at once and very fast, ensuring that we were not kept waiting. However, the rushed nature of the service detracted slightly from the overall dining experience. In conclusion, Lei Garden offers a convenient option for dim sum lovers in the Cupertino area, with quick service and a decent selection of dishes. While the food quality may not be exceptional, it's worth a visit if you're in need of a quick dim sum fix.
Tried Lei Garden for some dim sum, and they have a good
Tried Lei Garden for some dim sum, and they have a good variety of selection, some that aren't offered at other places I've been too. The quality of the dim sum is decent, it's nothing to brag about, if in the area, sure would return, but wouldn't make a special trip here. It's nothing too worthwhile. Ordered the basics, and nothing necessarily stood out, whether it was the steamed dishes or the baked ones. They don't do rolling carts here, you order from the table by marking the selections you want to order. The service is decent, they were attentive and refilled the teapot when necessary. Plenty of parking, and it wasn't too busy on a weekday, got a table fairly quickly. If you like dim sum, give them a try!
This place has really downgraded its standards.
This used to be a place where my family and I loved to go. However, when we went there recently for the first time in a long time for Chinese New Year, we were extremely disappointed. We found a dead bug in our food. When we brought this up to the manager he was very dismissive and didn't take any actions to correct it and was not apologetic. The barbecue pork was very fatty and had no flavor whatsoever. The dried scallop and egg white fried rice was lacking in flavor. The food was so expensive there too but was not reflected in it's quality or taste. The servers were also very rushed and kept trying to make us order faster.
My husband and I had Dimsum this afternoon at Lei Garden.
The food is below average and the Chief Special XO pan fried Turnip Cake was cold and no XO sauce in the dish at all. The Curry chicken pastry also not very fresh and the Pork and Peanut Dumpling also have no taste When I told the waiter to let him know these dishes are not very good. He basically said that these are the dishes taste. During the meal, no one checked on us, the waitress just dropped the dishes one after the other. Basically no services. When the waiter presented the bill to us, the restaurant charged us for a dish we did not have because two waitresses told us twice that the dish was sold out. I brought the bill to the counter and asked for deduction for the dish that we did not have. I also asked her why the 15% tips was added on our bill because we were not satisfied today's dishes nor the services. She reported this to the guy who was a receptionist and he told me to GET OUT because I was raising my concerns about the food quality and I told him that this is the first time we come to this restaurant and did not realize that we would be treated this way. We paid almost $70 for 7 dimsun dishes and half of them were not good quality. My husband and I eaten Dimsun all over the Bay Area and this is the only restaurant not only not want to listen to customers honest feedback and rather being so rude to the customer. We will report this incident to department of consumer affairs to investigate the over charging items and automatically charge a tip for party of two without notifying us the tip would be automatically charged on our bill.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
