Le Zoo Bal Harbour Reviews from The Last Year
Every year I come here to take myself out for my birthday
Every year I come here to take myself out for my birthday and I swear it keeps getting better year over year somehow. The escargot isn't served in the traditional dish but in a cast iron that retains the heat and is beautifully flavored and paired with soft sourdough. The Kumamoto oysters were delicious but should've been shucked better as 4 of the 6 were still attached to the shell. The triple berry sorbet was 3 scoops of well balanced decadence without being too sweet. The Chablis was a perfect pairing for both but I don't recall seeing their Blanc de Blanc sparkling that would've been even better with the oysters. The host and my outdoor server on May 21st lunchtime were fantastic and very happy with the timing of the server.
Exquisite! We had the cucumber chilled soup and the fillet
Exquisite! We had the cucumber chilled soup and the fillet mignon and they were perfectly done. The soup was delicate and refreshing and the meat was boasting with layers of flavor. Service was great also.
Contested environment
Nice atmosphere at the entrance to the Bal Harbor shop... Busy restaurant. I found few options on the menu. Service is average. At the entrance, reception treats you very badly. We ordered truffled pizza and smoked salmon toast. The pizza was tasty but the toast was average. Price is fair!
Discriminatory practices against highly melanated people!!
Discriminatory practices against highly melanated people!! STAY AWAY!! In a city, such as diverse as South Florida, I would have never expected to have the experience that I had at Le Zoo!! From the moment we sat down the service was subpar. We had to wait for water. Wait for our silverware. Wait to be served with bread. We had to ask the bus boys to assist us with things we needed for our table. After waiting an hour for our food, we asked our server about our entrées and his reply was 'I don't have any control over the kitchen'. I then proceeded to talk to the manager who just brushed me off or acknowledge my concern. He didn't even come to our table to continue to hear or address our concerns about our delayed food. He eventually sent over a subordinate to come and try and smooth the table and situation over which was unsuccessful. The manager blatantly ignored our concerns however he rushed to help another table with less Melanated individuals with water and additional services. He even brought out their food in a much more timely manner than our table while we still awaited our food. Eventually, the food came, and it was cold, and it was not even good. So I was really upset at the poor quality of food, the absolute despicable service, and the unjust amount of time we had to wait. The manager eventually came to our table to clear it, but it was more of an attempt to push us out the door. It was the worst experience I have ever had all my life. I am not swift to pull the race card however it was evident in our experience at Le Zoo. I don't recommend it for any persons of a darker melanin because we were clearly discriminated against being the only table of people of color in that establishment at that time. Stay away people of dark or medium melanin. Your money nor business is NOT welcome there!!!

My husband and I recently visited this French cuisine
My husband and I recently visited this French cuisine restaurant, and we were delighted with our experience. We decided to try a few different dishes and were blown away by the quality of each one. The steak and fries were perfectly cooked and had a delicious flavor that we both enjoyed. The truffle pasta was also a standout dish, with a rich and creamy sauce packed with flavor. We also ordered a dozen of mixed oysters and were thrilled to find that they were incredibly fresh and tasted amazing. For dessert, we opted for a sweet treat paired with their fantastic cappuccino. The combination was perfect, and we left feeling completely satisfied. The service was also top-notch, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure we had a great dining experience. The restaurant's ambiance was another highlight, with a romantic and cozy atmosphere that had a vintage touch. Overall, we had a fantastic time and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and memorable dining experience. The total amount of our bill, including gratuity, came up to $180.00.
Visited Le Zoo for bunch and didn't disappoint.
We started of with fried calamari, french onion soup and truffle pasta. My sister had the avocado toast and everything was lovely. Our server was very professional and great.

I'm trying to like this restaurant but the ride host and mediocre food make it hard. Very sad it used to be great ...
Good Mediterranean Restaurant
Very good restaurant, with good Mediterranean kitchen. Nice setting with very good service. Good food - especially Moules-frites !
I'm one of the store managers in Bal Harbour Shops.
The staff at Le Zoo deserve zero stars. They will take your order for food to-go. When you go to pick it up they'll say they aren't doing to-go orders. Then when you try to order the sandwich in person, they tell you the sandwiches are sold out. Not to mention it smells like hot garbage on the outside patio. Not sure how anyone can eat outside. I walk past there everyday seeing roaches and rats scurrying into the bushes. I would stay away from this place. I do not recommend Le Zoo. Go to Aba.
Almost every place in Miami has mandatory tips.
It was a relief to see this place doesn't even though I typically tip 30%+ anyways Tried chill cucumber soup, salmon, mussels with fries, egg truffle white pizza. All perfect Gabriela did a great job
Great service, great people watching, good food.
Prob won't go back but worth going once.
I've been to Le Zoo of Miami Beach 3 years in a row.
Normally I order French Onion Soup and Salade Niçoise. These two dishes get my Highest Rating Du Monde! They're as good as it gets. You can't get a better onion soup in France's gastronomy capital: Lyon! The servers are top notch. Presently I rate Le Zoo as # 4 du monde. Look for me on Tic Tok as Norm's Resto Guide du Monde. Merci beaucoup. 2022. 2023. 2024. Ps. The lady next to me ~ in haute couture ~ was spooning with fine manners a bowl of cucumber soup; it looked amazing.
worst food in bal harbour, old fries dry chicken no taste
worst food in bal harbour, old fries dry chicken no taste they should be ashamed to serve
The view is beautiful.
You feel like you're in Monaco. The food, though, was less than good. We had beef carpaccio which was dry, no seasoning nor dressing. The stone crab was NOT fresh and had a weird flavor. The shrimp cocktail was OK. Not impressed a whole lot with service either. I had high hopes, and left hungry. We actually left to eat at Joe's Stone crab!
Stay away from this place
First it is very strange for French restaurant not to have topical French items like duck But apart from that Food was terrible I ordered American hamburger and it came in two small patties that ware so overcooked I couldn’t even cut it After apologizing they brought new ones that were completely tasteless and disgusting French fries were saggy and uneatable Couldn’t eat that So it vent back My wife hade salmon that came on the bed of undercooked rice and uneatable Will not recommend Stay away
Proper steak frites
Best steak frites I have had in a long time. Great to see hanger steak (onglet) on a menu. It was properly cooked. My real praise, however, is for their frites (French fries to you Yanks!). Triple cooked, crisp, perfect.
Excellent Experience
Service was wonderful and the food was incredible. On the expensive side but thats what you expect in this area, and it was definitely worth it. Can’t wait to return
Not worthy, dirty place and poor service
The first impression is what counts, and this is not the exception: when showed to the high stand tables, I immediately noticed the dirty and abundant stains on the pillows that cover these ones. I even turned them over to check for more cleanliness but it was not the case. For sure, they were the “home” for many bugs as I left the place with several hives and bites in my legs. The food was really average and the service was so slow we needed to address another waiter. So disappointed. Never to come back again.
Wonderful
Very good food. You can eat inside with air c as always more noisy or outside. The food is French. Now the have put a few tables in the middle of the mall very nice Moule et frite is a very good option
Safety pin!!
Everything delicious!! A very good wine list. The attention is excellent and fast. I highly recommend the Truffle pizza, the escargots and the Tagliolini pasta.
Great service but horrible management!
Renee was an amazing server & bartender who was extremely attentive & caring! The manager RAY, on the other hand… The reason my friends & I will not be going back! Extremely rude, obnoxious & didn’t care about my friend getting sick after the overdose of chemicals in the bathroom! He literally told her “I don’t plan to do anything about this so if you want me to call the paramedics let me know” & walked away. After spending $400+ for 2 people, he could’ve found more compassion but he didn’t. I will go to Makoto & Aba from now on instead.
Slow Service, Great Food
Although the food is absolutely delicious, some people might not like that Le Zoo can take 1 1/2 - 2 hours. It was crowded and the service was really slow. We don’t necessarily recommend it, but if you are fine waiting for your food this can probably suit you. Overall, great food, slow service, but the theming was fit perfectly into it’s European style.
