Le Petit Hôtel du Grand Large Saint-Pierre-Quiberon Reviews from The Last Year
Disappointment
We wanted to innovate, to test. Bad idea. We will say that the oysters were good but this is not an achievement in the region...The fish is al denté and rosé Boaf...I was asked to keep my cutlery between the starter and the main course. It's not dramatic but it's special... Decent desserts. Go on your way. It can get better with time and the awareness that perfectibility exists.
360° view Menu with 360 flavors!
Already tested twice, our lunches turned out to be divine with an exceptional highlight of local seafood and garden products. The chef is a gourmet artist and this is evident through his culinary compositions, one more successful than the other. Discovery of equally wonderful wines. Congratulations to the whole team for the atmosphere as well as for your passionate and exciting explanations

A cuisine off the beaten track, sea and vegetables, perfect cooking, unexpected flavors. Each time a discovery.
Exceptional moment!
“No fuss in decorum, everything is on the plate” Cuisine of great creativity and impeccable mastery, iodized freshness guaranteed. Where when cooking is an art! Thanks to the whole team !
A little marvel (accessible)
A gourmet restaurant at this price and with this view is unmissable. The menu changes according to the mood of the chef and the arrival of the fishermen (often a very good sign).
Perfection
Memories of an excellent gourmet romantic dinner. Superb plates with incredible flavors. Very nice organic wine list! The cuisine is refined with exceptional products. The service is impeccable and the owner is very friendly! We will return there for sure!
Being a good leader is not enough….
We can only congratulate the chef for this meal full of flavors, poetry and local products served and prepared with a lot of soul! On the other hand, the service and the responses of the servers in the room are far from being worthy of a starred restaurant! No listening, sufficient, no questioning possible. We were served a wine at €130 a bottle (all the same). Tasty certainly, but advertised at €110 and from a different vintage than the one served. The waiter suggested that we change bottles, which we politely declined, deciding to move forward with this evening with confidence. Everything was delicious. Sometimes served on chipped crockery. No bread savings possible, well... And when we risk a polite remark on the error of wine we extend to say: "we are exhausted, at the end of our rope, we have been working for 6 months , it happens, and in any case, we’re not worried.” Great class for a star, a simple one, sorry for the mistake would have been enough! The welcome is fake, it's a shame and not normal in my opinion for a star!
Thanks to the guide!
THANK YOU MICHELIN! First of all, this is a “real opinion” and I would like to begin by stating that I have understood the commitment to pescetarian, ethical and sustainable cuisine. In all humility, we “scour” (sic) starred restaurants here and elsewhere so we are, we hope, a little aware of putting a cursor for this restaurant. So…Yes, thanks to Michelin! Thank you to the for introducing us to this place displaying culture and non-conformism (not sure that HACCP standards are all respected here) and theater of the new life of Parisian bobos visibly very expert in business and marketing, especially with a still well-stocked network... Because yes, we wonder about the presence of a star at the entrance to this restaurant as well as the content of its digital window… (the Michelin green star being justified, that’s for sure). Because apart from the discovery of thumb-foot and part of the “starter” (a small and very good langoustine it is true), and a pretty puree accompanying the fish, the dishes are without any coherence and above all… without taste nor flavors! In short, sufficient and condescending “Cooking” and service. Examples (and not only that): it is not enough to grill a vegetable with kamado and “finish” it with a blowtorch to “sell” an “extraordinary” dish. Fish? Tuna without finesse and…dry! (A star you say??) Are you looking for taste, finesse, and flavors? Go your way! Otherwise the little port is really very cute, as are the hugs and hugs exchanged by the team members during the service. Top! 110€ per menu. For us never again and thank you again Michelin!
A wasted moment
As a couple during the holidays. We choose the lobster menu. OK for the 9:30 p.m. service but when we arrive we are hungry! And there, the only thing we offer you is the wine list and the wait for 25 minutes without the slightest thing to nibble on (except for the classic menus if you seem to enjoy an appetizer). At the end of this interminable wait, I allow myself a small request for bread, and I am told that “the starter is coming”. We go straight to the menu without any appetizers (like punishment for opening your mouth). Having tested several starred restaurants, it’s quite incredible for this type of restaurant. We start the meal. From this moment on, the dishes are brought without any particular presentation except that the vegetables are from the garden, because we feel that we are not welcome (a fact that is quite inconceivable for a Michelin-starred restaurant). I agree with the previous comments on the content of the plate and the unjustified price of the menu in view of the content of the plates which I unfortunately had not read before booking (lobster claw in its tasteless juice and the giozza without interest) but what's more, the reception in the room completely ruins the moment. What a pity. We have the feeling that the room is not maintained. Everyone does what he wants. A feeling of casualness and disdain. No one asked us if we enjoyed our dishes!! To end a memorable moment: With the half lobster we are told that there are finger washes... the problem is that we should serve them with the dishes and not wait for customers to make desperate signs to get them. In short, I make the desperate signs and then the final straw comes from the mouth of the waitress (you can't make this up): you should have asked for them earlier! Amazing. I cannot recommend this restaurant. The reception is too bad.
Wonderful
A big thank you to the Michelin guide who was able to unearth this wonderful diamond hidden on the Quiberon peninsula. At first sight we discover a small “troquet” which is not looking for customers but we quickly understand that the place is very coveted A family welcome, simple, but very friendly, far from the reference criteria of other starred guests. Why was this restaurant awarded this distinction? It doesn't take us long to understand, the "thumb-toes" arrive, a slight learning of tasting for the novices that we are and we discover the originality of the place. A wine list that reflects the organic spirit of the owners. Despite the lack of major champagne houses, we are offered an unknown bottle which, after tasting, takes us online in search of this divine elixir. Now we're getting serious, we notice, when the dishes arrive, the air assures us of the owners who know their products. A FIREWORK OF PURE WONDERS of beauty, discovery, taste, all from the terroir and local fishing. And this final bouquet which is the main course (I mean main courses) exploded our senses. Great art which proves to us that after at least thirty years of passion for gastronomy we can still be surprised and enthusiastic by simple things but prepared wonderfully thanks to the alchemy of a great master who hides behind his stove but knows how to thank his team with humility when we praise him Well done, well done and thank you for this great moment in this little place that goes beyond the stars
