Simple but amazing.
A little off of the beaten path but worth the hassle. Great food. Fantastic wine! Outstanding service. Food as it should be.
Be the first to ReplySuch a cool place off the beaten path in Paris.
We've read reviews and it definitely lives up to the hype. A true farm to table

late night. The food was fresh and excellent! The ambiance can't be beat.

I'm sure the food is great but I called to make reservations and the man was so rude and hung up on me after saying "no, I'm closed!" I don't know if it's a French - English thing, but totally uncalled for. Wouldn't recommend.

Place was recommended by locals but we found the server to be rude and impatient when we didn't understand the menu. Appetizers were white asparagus (bitter) and artichokes (very cooked and soft but tasty). Main course of beef cheeks was very tender but bland (salt livened it up) and sister's main course was cod with pig's ear in a tomato based stew a la Bilbao - cod was undercooked and pig's ear tasteless in the tomato. Skipped dessert and skipped out of this pretentious and costly local French restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyI don't speak French, but they speak Spanish so we're good.
I've enjoyed a crab dish, squab two ways, mousse chocolate, and sweetbreads (the only dish on every menu) among many other delicious dishes. He can be a little gruff (but harmless really), she always remembers me. Whenever I'm in town...

We stayed next door and the hotel staff recommended this place to us. We came here on our last day in Paris and wish we would have come the first day. We didn't have a reservation and the owner (I think) was able to squeeze us in. We do not try very adventurous foods, but tried the veal ribs and lamb shoulder and were NOT disappointed! This place is in a neighborhood off the beaten path and mostly locals go. You must go here and make sure to have a reservation first.

I was there a few weeks ago with a couple of friends who were very excited to try out the place. Not only was it a disappointment, but the appetizers were flat out bad as we had octopus filled with sand. One of my friends asked if they could throw hers in the pan as it wasn't cooked enough; after first refusing to do so, the waitress eventually complied. While my friend's dish was more cooked, the sand was still there. We had fish as an entree that, while not bad, wasn't particularly good either. Desserts were nothing to write home about (I had panna cotta and my friends a chocolate cake that they didn't finish - very unusual for them). As stated before, service was what you expect of a Parisian cliche: unfriendly to the point they make you feel you disturb them. I'm never going back as there are too many places in Paris where they serve you good food, and sometimes even with a smile.

No offense some people thought they like food but they don't. Some yelpers said it is too far from the Centre - well it is really 3 minutes walk from the station - the one after Belleville. Some complained about the rough neighborhood - let me assure you it is better than the Mission district in SF. One yelper said how rude the restaurant was (but the person did not make it to the restaurant lol). Let's talk about food - the brain was that good yes I can 5 orders of it, yes please. The fish tartare with beets was a smartly executed. Beef cheeks was great as well. A meal like this make you think this is why we travel around the world. As other yelpers mentioned the wine selection was well appointed with great price point and not much mark up. The Morgon was a great choice. Don't get me wrong 3 Star Michelin l'Aprege was amazing too but this is what a great meal is about.
