One reason I love living in the city---our regular haunt
One reason I love living in the city---our regular haunt and the incredible staff @ L'Avenue! Today was yet another fantastic experience. We were greeted by such lovely and hospitable familiar faces. And as usual, the host team welcomed us and immediately brought us to our favorite brunch spot at the bar. We were then welcomed and served within an instant by the wonderful bartenders. They are such professionals and yet, at the same time, make you feel like you are the most important customer---as they do with everyone else sitting there! The management team stopped by to welcome us as they do each time we are there. The kind sincerity of the entire team and the incredibly delicious food makes one truly appreciate the whole experience. The menu is unbelievable! You can feel the influence of the original L'Avenue on Ave Montaigne which is also one of our favorites in Paris. All of this is why L'Avenue @ Saks is one of our regular spots!
Be the first to ReplyIt was nice that they served bread.
Almost everyone didn't like their food. I got the chicken and it was hard to cut and was salty. Ambiance was nice. Couldn't tell if the waiter was joking around with us or educating us about the food. Good they had cost check

Met up with friends while in NYC here for lunch, you will need reservations.Lots if great looking choices, I decided to go for the bacon cheeseburger with fries. I don't eat cheeseburgers often, so I figured this would be a great place to indulge in one and boy was I right! Juicy, cooked exactly how I requestcame in brioche bun, need i say more? We ordered a s'mores dessert which was as beautiful as it was delicious.
Be the first to ReplyEverything here is wonderful.
We needed a reservation (I did notice some say they didn't need one). No particular dress code. You take an elevator to the 9th floor from the north side of the building all the way up or if you are in the store you can simply take an elevator up to the floor and you will find L'avenue towards the northwest side of the store! We came here for lunch as a treat for my daughter. I wanted a perfect view of the tree (which we had). They give you warm bread and better which was lovely (They told us it was from Bridor). There is no rush here so take your time and enjoy! Everything about this store and its food says luxury. It is French cuisine! The inside is designed by Philippe Stack-you feel as if you are in Europe -in a ski chalet. It is two floors which has a French art deco-inspired dining room and Le Chalet- a bar and a lounge which is cozy, are-ski style interiors. We had the shrimp dim sum which was delicious. We also ordered the miso salmon which was delicious. The room has so many beautiful pieces decorating the room that I had to get up and look at every piece. I would go back again but I will probably wait awhile as this is a special place to me.

My husband and I had a delicious meal with great service & wonderful ambiance at L'Avenue. Their burger was awesome as was the Costes Cheesecake dessert. We enjoyed the mezcal margarita drink and wine during our visit. Staff was friendly & attentive. We look forward to coming back.

A great services no reservations necessary, no Dress coat needed. It's a bit hard to find this restaurant but it's right in front of the Elevator is the Entrance! there's a great View! From the Window. Open late. I think it's decent prices. highly Recommended :)

Food ordered was delicious. Waiter was very kind but did make an error while ordering beverage. The tattered seats need a big time makeover.

L'avenue at Saks is wonderful! I highly recommend you visit! You go to the 9th floor at Saks. Take the elevator or escalator up to the 9th floor. I didn't have a reservation, and they were fine with that. The staff was welcoming. The service was excellent. It's such a relaxing place with beautiful sofas and a view of Rockefeller Center. They have really fancy bathrooms. I really enjoyed my soup, but the warm bread and butter was exceptional. I asked about the bread, and the chef said they order it from Bridor. Such a relaxing place to have a nice meal or snack. Would love to return!

I recently came here for a birthday dinner, although I've been meaning to visit here for afternoon tea. The ambiance is very upscale as it is located in saks obviously. Dinner was prefixed as it was a birthday dinner. We were seated in a private room which was very nice & our view was overlooking rockafella center. I will definitely be going back for high tea & to explore the menu as I didn't get to try the things I really wanted to order. The filet was eh, & the dessert taste burnt. I wasn't impressed for dinner. I will definitely update my review once I go back for afternoon tea/brunch.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful venue, even better view.
A lot bigger than I expected. The staff is lovely. Dined in a private room for a birthday dinner. The house Prosecco is very good, I didn't like the house red. The salad was very dry, needed dressing. The tuna tartare was delicious, wish they served it with chips. Chicken spring rolls were just ok, had an Indian/ Mediterranean taste. The steak was cooked perfectly but lacked taste. Sea bass was very good, served over a sauce that tasted similar to a Thai curry. Desserts we're disappointing, s'mores tasted burnt and the cheesecake was encased in a hard shell, soft and mushy on the inside. I wouldn't recommend as a dinner spot, maybe for lunch which I heard many good things.

Be the first to ReplyVisited for a work dinner, and had a lovely experience.
The food was good - the s'mores dessert was fantastic with (spoiler alert!) a campfire smoke! But the service and ambiance are what I'd go back for - most likely for drinks at the bar. A beautiful restaurant with excellent service.
Be the first to Reply5 stars all the way here! The service, ambiance, restaurant
5 stars all the way here! The service, ambiance, restaurant decor, and food were all top-tier- something I would expect nothing less of from the original Saks.I came here for lunch with my boyfriend's mom on a weekday, and while we had no trouble being seated right away, nearly every table was full. This is definitely a spot for small groups/couples as they don't have any tables to accommodate parties larger than about 4. What immediately struck me about this restaurant was the beautiful decor. It was a traditional flare but with a modern vibe- think white oak wood, clean lines, and neutral palettes. Scattered throughout, they have encasings of vintage clothing like Chanel, Dior, etc.The food was simple, but impeccably done. We split a few things, including the rice, spinach, and Dover sole. I can confidently say that the Dover sole was one of the best I've ever had! The skinny margaritas were also solid. Be prepared to spend $$$, however, as this caliber of restaurant does not come cheap. If you're looking for a timeless restaurant in the heart of it all, look no further.I will definitely be back!!!
Be the first to ReplyFood was good.
Service was lacking. For the price I would expect a lot more. Manager realized that things were amiss and totally took care of us. I suspect this was a one off. Maybe our waiter was new.
Be the first to ReplyDecor and atmosphere are solid but pretentious all-around.
Our server was rude and the vibes were not great. Cool spot but would not go back

Wow. It's hard to describe how great this place it but I'll give it a go. First, the room is just beautiful, sleek yet cozy. You feel like you're in a private club but with the nicest staff on earth (think Danny Meyer quality). Everyone warmly greeted us and was super helpful. My friend and I started with a drink at the bar which has a nice, chill atmosphere. We then headed to our table and were served by Mark, who was a total superstar--funny and friendly with great tips on the menu. I had the Chilean sea bass which was perfectly cooked. My friend had steak tartare and fries and raved about it. We ended with the s'mores dessert which is an absolute must-have. I would come here by myself for a quiet drink and/or dinner at the bar, with friends, family or out of town guests. It's really that perfect. Menu has tons of options so there's something for everyone. I cannot wait to return.
Be the first to ReplyI honestly came here for the cheesecake.
I have tried the same cheesecake at Costes Hotel in Paris and let me tell you, you should come to taste it at L'avenue. I wasnt planning to order actual food and go straight to dessert but noticed a burger and fries I wanted to try. It was absolutely incredible. It was juicy and fancy and I loved it. I was quite surprised I really liked this place because at first glance it just seems so boujee. At all points of contact everyone was so nice from the hostess to the waiter and manager. Kudos to the Manager because although he seemed so young his hospitality was impressive. I noticed that he would jump in if his waiters were running behind. If you have the opportunity to dine here, do so!

Wish I knew about this sooner. If you are anywhere around NYC during the holidays you should def add this to your list. The ambiance is suburb, the service was great and the food all was incredible. The view of the tree can't be beat.
