I can't think of 85 characters so I'm typing fluff to express that this is the most slept on spot in cinci. 5 stars every single time. Good is phenomenal and the coffee is even better.

I fell for some positive reviews and misleading pictures on here and what I ended up with was a "greasy spoon" version of Cuban food. So on one hand, I didn't know that was a thing- so maybe I can spin that as a new experience. But realistically, it was just subpar food from a genre that prides itself on fresh food and flavor. The food wasn't bad, it was just missing flare. Tostones and croquettes- but no dipping sauce. Yucca fries doused in seasoned salt but not even so much as ketchup made available to us. There was only 1 guy working in the whole place. He played the part of the hostess, waiter, cook, and cashier. My wife asked for a water and he responded that all they had was tap water since they were out of bottled water. I ordered a Cuban soda and was handed a can (no ice, no glass). I wouldn't go back here, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone hoping for a Cuban restaurant experience.

My family loves Cuban sandwiches, order them often from various restaurants. Decided to try the Latin House this past weekend, BIG mistake! All five of us thought the Cuban sandwich was the worst we have ever had, very little meat and the bread was stale. We also tried the chicken sandwich, it was hard to find the chicken on it, which was extremely thin and over cooked. There are no prices on the menu, we paid just under $60 for 4 awful sandwiches, so disappointing!
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointing.
You would think that their Cuban sandwiches would be the highlight on their menu, sadly far from it. Over-priced, very little meat, basically paying for grilled bread

Very odd that there are no prices on the menu - you have to ask & then the server disappears for a bit & returns with a price. For example, an appetizer we asked about was quoted at $11 so we ordered it but the server came back to say it actually was $17? Food was good, atmosphere not so much. No refills on drinks.
Be the first to ReplyHad it as take out so it may be better fresh.
Croquets: was a little surprised very meaty, they needed a sauce or something to go with them but pretty solidEmpenada: beef was great, ham and cheese was a little weird kind of tasted like a hot pocket - certainly not bad but not what I was expectingCuban: my go to sandwich whenever available - the pork was delicious and the sandwich itself I think if you at it fresh at the restaurant is probably very good - however the bread didn't really travel well by the time I had it---Overall it was something different and flavorful

We came while Oktober fest was going and it was close, so we came back last weekend and it was worth it.At first it was awkward because no other parties were there, nevertheless, the owner (I think) made us feel welcomed right away. We ordered a cafe cubano, a chicken sandwich with plátano frito, and a steak that came with tostones and arroz congri. It was all delicious. The beef was perfectly cocked and so was the sandwich, both seemed freshly made. Also when I asked for spicy sauce they brought one that was homemade and it was the best.Great quality, friendly service and great price. Definitely worth going!

A great addition to downtown Cincinnati! The owner is super friendly. The Cubans are delicious and on par with Cubans from Miami. The Cuban soda, Materva, is good if you like cream soda. Get there early if you want to try the pastries.

The owner was there and was very engaging and made sure we enjoyed ourselves. You should check them out when you are downtown.

A little gem of a place downtown that's perfect for lunch if you work in the vicinity. I hadn't tried Cuban food before and everything was a revelation. The plantain chips and the Cuban sandwich were both stellar and I'm excited to try the other items on the menu. Speaking with the owner I was told everything is made in house and it shows. Great addition to the Cincy food scene!

This place is a Gem! It's like a home away from home, my home town of Miami Florida (Hialeah to be exact)! The Cuban sandwich at Latin House is actually better than Miami style because they leave a little fatty layer with the meat which gives that extra juiciness. I'm on the road traveling often and one sip of the Cuban Colada made me feel I was transported back to South Florida LOL!I don't review much but when I do it's significant! Sorry I just have my Colada Pic to show. I ate my sandwich too quickly.
Be the first to ReplyWow amazing food I was so hungry I forgot to take photos.
Took my son and friend for lunch as a Cuban-American is hard to find a good authentic Cuban place in Ohio. The owner and chef is a local transplant from my hometown Miami Florida. So you know getting the real deal on Cuban food. I know will definitely go back and try other amazing food. What my son got was the Cuban sandwich and black beans and rice. He said was amazing hit the stop for him. Please try these place out you will not regret.

Very very delicious! I've had the breaded steak and the breaded chicken, all of their sides and main dishes are phenomenal. I love the staff and the feel of the restaurant as well, highly recommend!

... I was downtown having a drink at Arnold's (who were rude, but that's for another review) and wanted to try Latin house which is just around the corner....Bad decision I LOVE Spanish croquettes and was looking forward to trying some from Latin house - so I ordered the croquettes, a couple of potato ball things, a grilled chicken sandwich and then was tempted By the meat Pastilito in the cabinet by the checkoutMaybe it was the beer but I forgot my own mantra of 'never buy anything from a display cabinet" And I was right - the 'meat' pastillo 'thing' was awful... 95% pastry, but not just that, there was a really odd taste to it, maybe it was just the grease !!But literally after pulling it apart there was a little sad dollop.. no not even a dollop of something that looked like meat. Now I know this is supposed to be Cuban and not Spanish, but surely Cubans have better taste than this, the croquettes were so salty I could forget traveling to the Dead Sea.... I would've Floated in the Ohio river ! On to the potato balls - OK. And that's all I have to say about that. Maybe some seasoning ? Then the chicken sandwich - my wife said begrudgingly' 'it's ok". But it wasn't It was rubbery bread filled with a measly piece of chicken and whatever else.. but again it had that odd taste which I can't put my finger on, but then again I will keep my fingers And my wallet far from the Latin house
Be the first to ReplyThe sandwiches were delicious.
I got the Cuban, and it was crispy perfection. My son enjoyed his steak. The fries were really good, and the cafe con leche was lovely. The dining room is a bit bare bones, but the food makes it tolerable.

We were in town for a comedy show at the Taft Theater and neglected to make reservations for dinner beforehand. To our dismay every restaurant we tried was booked. So we used Yelp to find a place for a quick meal before the show. Latin House popped us with a top rating so we called and they had availability. When we arrived, we were a bit dismayed to see only one other party there. However we got a friendly greeting from the owner a took a seat. My husband and I shared the Havana Platter which was delicious. It had empanadas, a potato ball and croquettes. We got one of the beef and one of the shrimp empanadas. The shrimp one was especially good and the potato ball was scrumptious. We wished we had time to get one of the sandwiches but were rushed for time. We highly recommend Latin House and only wished we lived closer so we could try more of the offerings.

I was very impressed with my first experience to the Latin House. I do not know of any other authentic Cuban restaurants in Cincinnati so I was excited to give them a try. My husband is part Cuban so I knew he would be critical of any Cuban restaurant that is not authentic. He may now be a bigger fan of Latin House than I am. The biggest test of any "Cuban" restaurant is the Cuban bread for a Cuban sandwich. Most restaurants do not have authentic Cuban bread and it completely bastardizes the sandwich. Latin House's bread is not only authentic it is really good. My husband and I shared the croquettes, a Cuban sandwich, and ceviche. The ceviche is made fresh to order-DELICIOUS. The Cuban sandwich with the authentic bread was mouthwatering. The croquettes were crispy fried on the outside and succulent on the inside. Can you tell how big a fan I am?!?! Chef Ray is talented and we will be back this weekend! This restaurant is surely a must try!

We lived in Tampa for 38 years and are so happy to have found this little peace of heaven. Authentic Cuban food made by people who care. Please help this place to make it.
Be the first to ReplyReally happy I discovered this place.
They have the Best Cuban sandwich and Beans & Rice I've had outside of Florida. Very friendly service, reasonably priced, and enormous portions. I can't wait to go back again next week!!!
Be the first to ReplyAZUCAR! I randomly ran into Latin House.
I was asking down the freezing streets of Cincy and saw the Cuban flags. I took a loot at the menu and saw options for me, I'm pescatarian! I walked in and was greeted rifhr away and instantly felt welcomed. it's the Cuban way! The customer in front of me was having a snack and commenting on it and was instantly drawn to making my taste buds go crazy. She was having a Pastelito de guayaba! 2 please! Thanks! I ordered the blacked shrimp ceviche and tostones to go. While I waited I was offered a nice hot Cafe Bustello expresso and that coated my insides like a hot summer cuba day. I got to my hotel and couldn't open the food fast enough. The walk back to my hotel was air filled with the aroma of the food. I kid you not, it smelt SO GOOD! MIA, LET ME TELL YOU THIS FOOD WAS BOMB! I am sad I didn't just get a whole meal. I thought it was just going to be a snack and I am still full, hours later! I definitely recommend Latin House! I will definitely go here next time I'm in Cincinnati! ¡Ve a Latin House y disfruta de esta deliciosa comida! Buen Provecho!!
Be the first to ReplyDon't be fooled by the bare bones interior.
Latin House is turning out some seriously delicious food! I visited for lunch with a friend and we couldn't have been more pleased. We started with a chicken empanada and a potato ball to split. The empanada pastry was a beautiful golden brown, not at all greasy, with a lovely chicken filling. The potato ball was a thing of wonder. Baseball-sized, it's made from fluffy mashed potatoes mixed with three cheeses, stuffed with a super flavorful ground beef mixture, rolled in bread crumbs and deep fried. One is more than enough to share between two people who ooohed and ahhhed their way through it. I went with the Cuban sandwich paired with red beans and rice for my main course. Again, everything was delicious and I was happy be able to bring about half home for my husband to enjoy. My friend had the Havana Special, which was two fried eggs served on a veritable mountain of perfectly cooked rice. It also came with toast and she added the steak on the side. She said it was great. We both had a really good Cafe con Leche to wash it down. Looking forward to seeing what they do and coming back to try other dishes!

We walked a few blocks out of our way to check this place out and we are so glad we did! This is my first yelp review because the food here is the best, most authentic, Cuban food I've had since I fell in love with the cuisine in Key West many many years ago! Empanadas that melt in your mouth, potato croquettes are incredible! Don't miss their sandwiches! My husband had the steak sandwich and plantain verdes - he loved his as well. House made bread and sauces to die for!!!! You can even have Cuban soft drinks and coffee! We will be back here as many times as we get the chance and I hope y'all get to try it too!
