Lasai Restaurante Humaitá Reviews
$250 for crackers & mayo
What a scam. This “tasting menu” is just a bunch of crackers with different kinds of mayo and a few scraps of vegetables from the garden. Everything is so salty it’s borderline inedible. The heavy salt saturates your palate so much that you can barely taste anything else. Half the “courses” are just variations of things with mayo on crackers. The crackers aren’t even something you can neatly eat in one bite. They’re oversized, two-bite crackers that fall apart the moment you try. The main dish was a tiny portion of unrendered, fatty meat that the chef cut into straight out of the oven. They didn’t even let it rest. Watching the chef handle the meat that way kind of shows they don’t really care about what they’re serving. The desserts were just a pile of mush with no texture, like something you’d get from a gas station. Don’t waste your time or money on this pretentious restaurant. Eat where the locals eat. There’s plenty of good food in Brazil—this just isn’t it.
Salt and cream are the only flavors you will taste
This was the most disappointing meal I have ever had the displeasure of eating. This restaurant boasts using fresh local ingredients, which they actually did. However, the only flavors I could taste with any of the savory dishes were salt and cream. Everything tasted the same and there was nothing to break up the monotony of the dishes. We had a cashew kombucha, which was excellent and helped cleanse the pallet. I’m thankful we decided to get one, otherwise I probably would have walked out. I couldn’t finish several of the course because they were inedibly salty. We were provided bread to scarpetta the sauce, but I personally didn’t want to ruin the tasty bread with the sauce. The only decent “course” was the green beans wrapped in a crepe. The flavors were well balanced and not too salty. This set my hopes too high. I truly don’t understand how this restaurant has a single Michelin star, let alone two. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your money.
Excellent 2-Star Restaurant
My wife and I had an excellent dinner with an emphasis on their home grown vegetables. None of the dishes were bad and most were excellent. Service was top notch and they did a great job of explaining the various courses. Even the bathroom was gorgeous! I also thought it was a pretty good value for the price. Overall I thought that their 2-star rating was well deserved.
Wonderful dinner full of natural flavors, beautiful combinations, and Michelin-star service!
Dinner for 3 at Lasai last night. 9 beautifully prepared snacks using local ingredients, finished with 3 mains featuring seafood and pork. Loved the unique combination of flavors and the various preparations. Favorites were the oxtail served with auberge and on an auberge bread, and flan with Uni! I’m a bread lover, and having three distinct types of bread was a big plus. Decent value for a 2-Michelin star restaurant, I can see it’s well deserved. Congratulations Lasai - would recommend! Only including a few photos to not spoil the surprise for the next guest, even though they often change their menu to adjust for availability of fresh ingredients.
From Farm to Table in Real Time
Our experience at Lasai was nothing short of exceptional. The intimate chef’s table setting for ten allowed for an immersive and engaging dining experience, where the journey of each ingredient was as much a part of the meal as the flavors themselves. A particularly unique touch was the presentation of locally sourced produce in baskets along the bar at the beginning of the evening. As the meal progressed, the ingredients gradually disappeared, transforming into the beautifully plated courses before us—an elegant way to showcase the provenance and seasonality of the menu. The nine snack courses, three main courses, and two desserts, accompanied by complimentary local sweets, were thoughtfully composed, each dish bursting with vibrant flavors. The wine pairings were equally impressive—a beautiful selection of minimal intervention wines from small, local producers, expertly curated to complement the bold yet refined flavor profiles of the menu. A special mention goes to the multilingual staff, particularly the chef, who seamlessly code-switched between English, Spanish, and Portuguese, making the experience both inclusive and engaging. At just over $200 USD per person, this meal was a perfect introduction to fine dining—especially for those, like us, who are intrigued by Michelin-starred experiences but often daunted by their price tags. A truly memorable evening that balanced artistry, hospitality, and accessibility in a way few fine dining establishments achieve.
Try it if are in the gourmet style
Excelente michelin restaurant. Mainly based on vegetables and criativity but not a vegan restaurant meat and fish also make his appearance. A great experience you will remember for years

Unique experience, really cool dinner made fresh and in front of you. The focus on local products and small producers creates a spectacular meal
One of the best fine dining meals ever!
One of the best dining experiences we've ever had. We were a group of 10 so had the whole place to ourselves. The Lasai team went above and beyond in accommodating our friends' various diet restrictions, including a vegan who said this was the best fine dining experience of his life. We were celebrating a birthday and they really made the night so memorable and special. A huge thanks to the Lasai team!!!!
Amazing experience
I do not have a single negative thing to say about this dining experience. The meal and service were far superior to Oteque. Friendly and kind service. Generous wine pairings. Inventive food. Friendly chef. Truly a delicious meal and a highlight of our trip to Brazil.
Excellent
Exquisite dining experience. It deservedly has a Michelin hat. A small boutique restaurant with fresh ingredients and innovative presentations. Excellent wine pairings. Staff were attentive.
Wonderful

Exceptional location
If you want to know everything about this restaurant, there's nothing better than visiting it, but I'll leave here everything I felt while being there. The service was spectacular, great food, I'm suspicious of talking, visit.
Smaller, more intimate but more expensive
We visited the new restaurant and it's a much smaller and more intimate space with a maximum of 10 seats. You get to see everything prepared and watch chef Rafe and the team perform their magic. Sadly the price did increase significantly for this luxury but it makes sense as your paying for a dinner and entertainment now. Food is thankfully still great!

Do not miss your place at the table!
Absolutely phenomenal, make sure this is on your trip to Rio and that you book in advance. An exclusive chefs table experience with great food that won’t leave you hungry as it’s also plentiful and a fantastic wine selection to complement it. With every dish championing home grown and locally sourced produce, veggies and pesci’s were also well catered for (my husband had lobster in place of steak and wouldn’t let me try it he loved it so much!) The service is next level too, we nicknamed the team the food and wine ninjas - my glass was never empty, my napkin never dirty and even my handbag got its own plinth. It was simply seamless. Lasai was the highlight of our trip to Rio, and a great way to celebrate our anniversary. Highly reccomend
