Langosteria Paris Reviews from The Last Year
It enchants but does not satisfy
Fascinating and exclusive location with good service. Low food quality and very high prices however. If you are looking for a premium dining experience, go elsewhere
It always differs
Perfection. Super attentive staff. Dishes that look like compositions. Excellent food. We will be back soon. The wonderful view...the icing!
1 time but no more
A beautiful restaurant in a magnificent setting with a breathtaking view. Well done But that's all. The content really does not match the container. A very good appetizer and a good dessert (although very simple) The very approximate service, customer=euro. No consideration, the staff is running everywhere, it doesn't exude serenity. You have to repeat the same thing 2 to 3 times to be heard. As for the dishes, nothing exceptional. The fish was not cooked, the wasabi mayo without wasabi (or very little). Sorry but too overrated. Damage
So disappointed!!!
We came for lunch to celebrate my birthday after discovering Langosteria in Milan. Arrived at 2 p.m., served at 3:20 p.m.… soooo slow service all the way. Lots of servers swarming everywhere without much efficiency. Asparagus, returned twice, arrived with salt despite our request without salt. 5 asparagus for 22 euros! Squid/langoustine/octopus starter, a delight in Milan, in Paris hard squid, not very seasoned and in very small quantities. 2 grilled langoustines as a dish for 100 euros with 2 thin slices of barely transparent eggplant… The taste was good but absolutely not worth the detour apart from the view of Paris, hence the 3 star rating. In summary, the service is terrible, the dishes very expensive for a restaurant that claims to be of a high standard! At the end my husband asks for a candle with the dessert which is also difficult to come... dessert without a candle... tired of waiting we give it up. Then when it was time to pay the bill I couldn't help but tell the waiter that we were still waiting for the candle... so he offered us 2 chocolates with a candle and 2 glasses of champagne to make up for it... but we wouldn't come back again!! !
First they charge, a fortune, then they apology. Shame on you. Go back and do your homework and come back in business
This is just a joke. My opinion of this place, as Italian, it is simply zero. Starter came after 2.5 hour. Main maybe in 2.5 hrs. Just ridiculous
A night to remembered !
We had an amazing dinner and the service was superb! Martha was our waiter and she made wonderful suggestions. As a start we had caviar and oysters who were very fresh. Then we had grilled calamari who were prepared to perfection with olive oil. As a main course we both had grilled langostines DELICIOUS, and a millefleurs to finish with a candle to celebrate my 60th BD!!! The view outside is beautiful and we were lucky to be there for sundown and the city reflected the sun , like a fairytale finished!
Good food & service, but it's a scene and you're paying for it!
Langosteria is corporate owned & operated - and I don't mean that in a negative way - with locations in Italy, London and Miami. It's a large, well-appointed contemporary restaurant with ample space for large dining parties. It's main draw is being located on top of the luxury hotel Cheval Blanc, with its wrap-around outdoor terrace. If the weather is nice, you can enjoy a meal or drink out there complete with a view of the Seine and the Eiffel Tower in the distance. Mind you, you can see the Tower, but you'll be zooming in 2X, 3X or more with your phones! Overall the food is very good as well as the service. Langosteria is good enough to be recognized by the Michelin guide, but has not earned any distinctions as of April 2024. The menu is a nice break from French food, if that's what you're looking for. We had a lovely cocktail to start, the Arezzo 75 which was a play on the French 75, with a delightful grapefruit foam. Our drinks were accompanied with a tasty amuse bouche. For our starters, we selected the red tuna carpaccio with eggplant and the seafood tempura. We decided upon the Paccheri with Sea Bass, capers, olives and Amalfi lemon zest - which is grated tableside like Parmesan cheese! We added the scarola strozzata as a side and paired the whole thing with a bottle of Sancerre. Our meal was concluded with a Torta Nonna Rosa, a glass of Jefferson Amaro and a 12-year Calvados. Additional soft drinks included 2 bottles of Aqua Panna and an espresso. The cost of dining here was 504 Euros BEFORE tip!! You won't find any prices online (because they can fluctuate quickly) but everything was expensive. They have an 81-page wine menu, mostly Italian, but bottles from all over the world. Like all pretentious places, you will find bottles well into 4 and 5 digits. WHO is ordering the 1933 Sauternes for 18,000 Euros??!!! I understand seafood can be expensive, but this place is just ridiculous! And of course, it wouldn't be complete without the gratuitous caviar service! By comparison, we dined at a 1-Star Michelin restaurant, complete with upgraded wine pairing for two, for only 40 Euros more. The food & service at Langosteria are very good, but not 500 Euros good. Everything was fresh & tasty and the entire staff was warm, friendly and attentive. But, you're really paying for the location and view, which in my opinion, isn't worth the elevated prices. We noticed lots of young people (20s-30s) who seemed like the Influencer type - some probably had a OF page ;-) Those who were more interested in getting those selfies out on the terrace than their dinner. I believe this restaurant is aimed at the clientele of the hotel, which can run over 2,700 Euros for a weekend in June. This place is for those who want to impress their dining companions because it's expensive. So, come here if you want to seem impressive, but go somewhere else if you want a better value for seafood...and a view!
Viva Italia
At the heart of this place, whose reputation is well established, emerges an experience which takes us to Italy for a meal (and the establishments in Milan will be the subject of a future visit). Here, Paris is revealed in a new light, offering its panoramas to contemplate from a terrace open to all, a constantly renewed spectacle. The atmosphere, of measured elegance, goes perfectly with a very successful decor. The service, well executed, bears the mark of a profoundly Italian hospitality, as does the cuisine which, with its authentic flavors, celebrates the culinary art of the peninsula. The starters - most of them are remarkable - inaugurate the meal with panache, announcing the delights to come. As for the desserts, they are very successful, closing the experience on a note of pure indulgence. The wine list, a true odyssey through the vineyards, offers the opportunity to discover unsuspected treasures, nuggets that will delight amateurs and connoisseurs alike. Certainly, the bill reflects the quality and exclusivity of the experience, but in such an establishment, the question of price dissolves into the excellence of the souvenir. Because here, more than a meal, it is a celebration of Italian life, an invitation to savor each moment like a precious gift.
To avoid
Magnificent place and very beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower. Complicated menu, uncreative and even bad dishes. The tuna tartare is tasteless and mush. The foie gras langoustine is finely chopped and loses its crunch and freshness. Pasta with tomato sauce for our vegetarian. And the service yesterday wasn't up to par either.
The Amalfi in Paris
Best restaurant I tried in Paris. The menu is extensive and seafood based with all the options from the sea. The food is executed perfectly and the view is incredible. The wine menu is what you would expect as the cocktails weee delicious. The service was on point. All the above comes at a price as it is on the higher of things, but you do get what you pay for.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
